I created a macro for generate a PDF drawing, but when one file has been already created, AND he's already open, the macro don't work.
How to stop the macro automatically and notify that the macro has been stopped because the file is open.
Below, the current macro :
Sub PublishPDF()'Get the PDF translator Add-In.Dim PDFAddin As TranslatorAddInSet PDFAddin = ThisApplication.ApplicationAddIns.ItemById("{0AC6FD96-2F4D-42CE-8BE0-8AEA580399E4}")'Set a reference to the active document (the document to be published).Dim oDocument As DocumentSet oDocument = ThisApplication.ActiveDocumentDim oContext As TranslationContextSet oContext = ThisApplication.TransientObjects.CreateTranslationContextoContext.Type = kFileBrowseIOMechanism [Code] ....
when I trying to publish in single-sheet file. so I type publish on my command bar, then I chose publish to pdf but when i try to click on publish options to set the location where I need to put the pdf files the publish window freeze. same thing when i click on add sheet button.
NOTE: I have this problem especialy when I used AUtoCAD from home. to use AutoCAD from home I made borrow licence.
Is there a way to import a pdf file into ACAD? I have tried inserting an OLE image but I get an error "Failed to creat object. Make sure the object is entered in the system registry."
Using AutoCAD 2013, myself and several other coworkers have encountered an error message when creating a pdf with the publish command. I attached a screen shot of it.
We never experienced this in earlier versions. It doesn't happen 100% of the time, but it has been recurring more in the past month. I have restarted the computer after receiving the message and then invoked the publish command after restart and it was successful. I'm not going to do this every time I publish, nor do I see the need to turn off background plotting. That just seems like a bandaid fix.
I even tried publishing with different page setups to determine if it would react differently to any page setup, but it doesn't. I attached a view of my publish window, as well.
I am using AutoCAD LT 2014. I have started to have trouble loading the page setup from the Publish manager. I used to be able to click, "import" and select the dwt file I required. I could then use the imported page setup to publish the sheets I wanted to PDF. Now, when I try to import, it is not populating the pulldown list with the imported page setup.
I am trying to publish our Library of blocks to a DWF file to import into DWF reviewer for a symbol library. I have done it fine in the past, but for whatever reason my Publish Options keeps reverting to the default to no include block information which we need to import the symbols properly.
I have tried the pdf and dwfx publish as well and the same thing is occuring. I have also looked at the plotter file and don't see anything that is causing this.
When I created our custom profile ".arg" file, with two custom workspaces along with the OTB workspaces. I set the Auto Publish Settings to publish to PDF on Exit. With 50+ users, each can create thier own workspace for thier liking.
I have some users that like the feature, and others that do not. The ones that do not like the feature, want to turn the feature off.
So the question is if, under each individual workspace, we uncheck the Auto Publish feature, then save that workspace, is the feature turn off for JUST that workspace? Or does it cut the feature off for all workspaces?
how to change the publish settings so that it prompts asking for a location to save when I publish to PDF? Right now it's just saving to the default output location and I need it to ask every time where I want to save the file.
When I am working on several drawngs at the same time, I use the Publish command to plot them as a group. However to save the settings as a DSD file for future use, every open file needs to be saved. Why is this? Is there a way to disable that requirement?
There is no reason I can think of besides "by design" for this. The DSD file is only a list of drawings and their plot settings and is not dpendent in any way I can think of, to whether or not one its drawings is open and not saved.
In ACA2012, we cannot use the Publish command to overwrite an existing DWF file of same name, for instance you publish a set, then need to re-publish and overwrite the earlier version. We get an error message that the DWF is currently open in another program...when it clearly is not open anywhere and Design Review is closed. We have several servers running different versions of microsoft server, but the results are the same to any of them.
We do NOT get an error message when publishing/overwriting to the C: drive, only a network path. Also, if we use the Print command instead of Publish, well it only does the current page but it DOES allow the networked DWF to be overwritten.
I am puzzled by what could be the difference in that Publish will not overwrite a networked DWF file yet Print will?
This has never happened to us in previous versions of ACA or Design Review.
A co-worker and I came in this morning and both of our inventors are giving us this Faild to Open error. We run on single user accounts and we do not use vault. I then tried to backup all of my documents, but it would not let me backup either. I did a properties on the folder and it showed everything was read only. I click off read only and it let me backup. But still will not let me open a model part or assembly??? I tried turning off Avast and that did nothing either. We are still running 2008. Inventor and Autocad.
I have the student version of Inventor 2014 installed on my computer. My O/S is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I have installed and reinstalled Microsoft Visual Basics three times. But, I am still getting the error "VBA failed to initialize properly".The program was working fine for about a week with no errors reported. Now, every time I try to start a tutorial I get this error.
Simple 1-click feature to publish an inventor file to DWF AND send to the Autodesk 360 account for mobile viewing purposes?
To me this would seem to be one of the primary workflows of an online service?
I am interested to know how others have been publishing their Inventor parts and drawings to 360 for viewing and also potentially whether this workflow is under development in the pipeline.
But during the first analysis, it stopped and gave me a message saying: Improper constraints, material or mesh..Then I went on the internet for finding a solution, I came up with 1 solution - to set Average Element Size to 0.040 instead of 0.100.
After I tried this it came up with yet another "error": Mesh failed: Very large number of elements generated, mesher cannot proceed further!
I've read that the Error 1603 is just a windows error saying that installation failed. I'm trying to figure out why I cant get the content Center to install. I already have Autodesk Inventor 2011 installed on my machine and for whatever reason I accidently unchecked the install content center (this was some time ago). When I go back into the install and try to run it it doesn't work. now I dont have the DVD's but I copied the DVD files to my Computer onto a back-up hard drive. The DVD's have been since packed away. is the content center failing cause I'm running the setup from the Disk1zip and the content center Files are on Disk7zip or is something else interfering with my install?
I keep getting; "A cross part association has failed".
*I got a sheet metal part fixed by jletcher, got it in to the assembly (1), updated the associations and that worked fine. *I then opened the assembly (2) that contains the assembly (1) and fixed the "cross part associations" this file seems to work after save and reopen.
So, when I open the MAIN assembly it complains about the same stuff. I have fixed it But as soon as i close the files for the day it complains about it again the next day. This seems to go on and on
I have created some some parts in the assembly (2) and projected a few edges to be able to create these parts.
best way possible to present drawings in a poroduct to the end-user/manufacturer.
all part and assembly .idw's are printed and signed. then scanned and put into one pdf we call technical file. in the pdf, we use bookmarks for sorting into four main categories: purchased, manufacturing, assembly, and fitting kits. in addition we have other things, lik einstalation manual. the minus of this is that, when you are viewing one part, you cannot tell what assembly it is to be included in. in production area, they have small stations with ability to read these pdf's.
Xara photo & graphic designer 7 on Xp.And it wouldn't let me load one up from Backup just kept saying "Failed to read XAR file(Failed to read record 4625 65535). Lost a few Hours Work.
I'm having trouble with iParts. This specific part is for a component that has many dimensions that vary from size to size, for a total of 23 configurations, 9 inch, and 14 metric. I did not have this problem until today... when trying to work with the iAssembly that uses two iParts (by means of selecting which Part Factory Member is used in each Assembly Factory Member).
I know that if the files are read-only, the files will fail to generate. I have checked this, was still having trouble, and so I deleted the files. The problem persists.
All the members compute successfully and there are no empty cells when editing the table. The filenames are just letters/numbers and dashes, no spaces.
The assemblies and parts had been generated and checked into vault, but only now problems exist, only for the newer parts, which happen to be the metric parts.
when I try to use the VIEWBASE command to create views from my 3D solids, I always get the message "inventor server failed to load" and the command stops. I am using AutoCAD 2014 with SP1 installed on windows 8 .
In a similar message in the 2010/2011/2012 discussion group: URL....
it is suggested to reinstall the software, but this is not working for me.I have already tried to 'repair', 'reinstall' and completely remove all the software and then reinstalling it, but nothing seems to fix this problem.
Are there any other programs I need to have installed to get this command to work?
I am using Cable and Harness (Autodesk Inventor 2012 64 bit on Win7 64bit) and when trying to create the segment I only get the error message "The sweep operation failed for the harness segment Segment1 Adjust the segment geometry and try again". It does not matter what data for diameter and bend radius I am using under "Harness properties", it never works. When checking the "Bend radius" for violation it says nothing. I am attaching the files.
