Using 2011 Civil3D at the moment. Im trying to insert a PDF as an xref and once its in the model space, it won't let me rotate or scale the image. When clicking on it, the nodes in each corner do not appaear.
I am using a WMS in Autodesk 3D Map 2012 to display an Arial image in the Model area. As I zoom in, the Arial image changes showing things in more detail.
Is there a way to crop the image inside a specific boundary? Keep in mind that the image is basically a WMS, not a raster image.
P.S. If i try to print the area of the WMS Arial image that I am interested in (in order to avoid cropping) the result is a grey area.
I need to insert an image into AutoCAD 2011, but it has to be embed (not a separate file). When I insert the image as an OLE, it's poor quality and pixelated. Is there any other way to insert an image file into the dwg?
I created a block w/ attributes for my border and saved it for future use on other drawings. But when I insert it, even if the units are the same the blocks I inserted scaled smaller than the actual border that i wanted it to be.
We have just installed a new server and transferred all the information accross. Since this point, all my inserted graphics (company logo etc. in *.jpg format) have disappeard. Instead of the graphic, a little box appears with text stating the path where the original graphic was stored on the old server.
Since then I have tried to recreate a drawing block which works until I then insert that block into my drawings and they disappear again. I have given the new blocks different names, I have delieted all the old blocks from the drawing and purged, but every time I insert the block into the drawing, the graphics disappear. I have even tried inserted them into the drawing individually from the original jpeg stored on the new server which also doesn't work.
I have attached both files. Is there a way to rectify this or is there a different way to create a drawing title block
I have a drawing on which I am going to need to show some photos of the assembly in its installed condition. When I attempt to insert an image, I get very low image quality that is giving me flashbacks to mid-90's video games. I do not get any sort of errors, missing images, file names displayed instead, etc. The image appears, but simply looks terrible, both on the screen and if printed or converted to PDF.
I have tried inserting the image as JPEG, PNG, and BMP, all with identical results. It is not unique to these images, and in fact occurs even if I try inserting images that Inventor created in the first place. Searching on these forums indicates that changing file associations for BMP files to Paint may be the answer, but most of these posts are rather old.
Since my IT department has me locked out of changing these associations for myself, I'd like some confirmation that this is still the likely cause before I go through the red tape of an IT service request.
I have several pdf's that I have inserted into a dwg file and when I attempt to plot the file they print with transparency. I have adjusted the contrast, fade and monochrome settings to no avail (also assigned line weight is not set for transparency). Interestingly, the print preview window shows the attachments correctly, but the resulting pdf file when printed contains the attachments printed very faintly.
I have made a few blocks that contain a few attributes. I have populated the Tag, Prompt, and Value for each block. When I insert the block the value seems to take on a life of its own and populate with text different than what I have entered.
I have a function that inserts a file to be a block definition
db.ReadDwgFile(fileName, FileShare.Read,True, "") Dim isAnno AsBoolean = db.AnnotativeDwg Dim btrId As ObjectId = destDb.Insert(destName, db, False) If isAnno Then [code]......
When I create a block reference the attribute collection count is zero. Is there something I need to do with the block definition to enable the attributes.
I am using AutoCAD 2010 64 bit. (I did think I had this working on my 32 bit computer but will check tomorrow). Running the AutoCAD function Battman - sync fixes the issue.
I would like to solve a drawing insertion when I set the scale as 1 but when I insert the dwg, it looks smaller and the PROPERTIES box tells me that the dwg is .0364 in size.
Some times we have to insert a Tiff file into a drawing and sketch over the top of the image. Occasionally when I go to print the file all I get is a blank rectangle where the image should be. Now the image does show in the print preview and it will print out normally sometimes.
I've created my first dynamic blocks...but when i insert them into my dwg they are way off in space. i've tried selecting a base point in the library file. and i've tried using INSBASE 0,0,0 but no luck. my dyn block is made up of several individual blocks.
Using AutoCAD 2010, and I'm having problems printing with one dwg, that I've had to copy an Excel Spreadsheet into. The spreadsheet was created with Excel 2007, and has quite a bit of text in it, and I'm trying to print it on an E size sheet, to an HP Designjet 4000. AutoCAD hangs up each time I try to print this, and my computer gets a message indicating that I'm low on disk space, even tho I do have plenty of space. It's like Autocad is taking more resources than it normally should. How I can insert this spreadsheet into AutoCAD and be able to print it? I've inserted the spreadsheet in model space, and the titleblock/border is in paperspace. I've tried printing to pdf and exporting to other formats to see if that will work, but AutoCAD keeps hanging up. Any other AutoCAD dwg works fine to print to the printer. It's just this one file with a spreadsheet inserted into it.
I'm trying to make this assembly flexible in that the bar will flex so the "s-clip" can hold the 2 handles together. I read some of the forums about the scissors assembly in the autodesk folders and I can see it working in that assembly btu can't figure out how to make it apply to mine. It is basically one of those camping grills that makes hot sandwiches or pies.
I am asking the user to select points and insert a block at each of the selected points. On user exit from the point selection I draw a polyline connecting the blocks.
However, I cannot get the already inserted blocks to display until I complete the insertion of all blocks. How do I go about getting them to display as soon as they are inserted? The code segment below is inside a transaction and nothing appears on the screen till this transaction is committed' Pt(0 to 2) is defined as a double and is returned when the user selects a point with function
SelectPoint Do While SelectPoint(Pt) = True Dim MyPoint3D As New Point3d(Pt(0), Pt(1), Pt(2)) InsertBlockAtPoint(MyPoint3D, myTransManager, strBID, _ myBlockTable, CurrentBlockSpace, dwg, True)' strBID is a previously populated structure containing data about the block insertion details and Xdata to be added to the block reference Dim MyPolyPoint3D As New Point3d(Pt(0), Pt(1), 0) myPoints.Add(MyPolyPoint3D)' myPoints is a data set used to plot the polyline
I have dwg files with Calibri font (our standard font style) that I am trying to xref into one drawing (a bunch of detail dwgs essentially). The detail looks fine in its own dwg - but when I xref the dwg into another dwg some text elements appear bold. I've check ALL of my font styles - nothing is selected to "bold"... I scale the x,y and z to the same scale.
If I insert a part with my own work planes in an assembly, I can programatically get the first 3 standard workplanes and also the non standard workplanes.
BUT if I make the part a table based iPart, I cannot find the extra non standard workplanes in the WorkPlanes of the part component definition, just the first standard three (XY YZ XZ).
“Dynamic block” that contains an inserted “field”,
I’m now encountered into two problems with this regard:
Why sometimes we get the number sign “####”?How can the field automatically be updated in case a “stretch” is made without the need to go and click “update fields”?How to make the “precision” of the field value (which represent the length) to be 5 such that the 2568 will appear as 2570 and the 2563 will appear as 2565 I’m attaching the block in case your time permits to have a look
Round off of the value (length) of an inserted field, I wanted to make a round off for the field value that represents the length of a line but sounds that there is no option to do so.
For example:
the 2568 will be rounded off to be 2570
the 2563 will be rounded off to be 2565
This option is available for the dimension objects and wondering why it not offered for the inserted fields.
I inserted a block into a very busy drawing. I can't find it now. Is there a way to locate it? I want to delete and insert a newer version, but I can't until I delete this one.
I select one block to insert . However, how can I get the Blockname before select the insered point?
I found the BlockTableRecord.BlockInsertionPoints event. It is meaning that it can only apply to the whole BlockTableRecord type rather than some individual block references (AutoCAD INSERTs)
I insert parts in an assembly, new parts from content center or from a library, without projected edjes, they are free to move until i impose the first constraint, the axis to axis alignment of round parts, then i cannot move them anymore in order to continue constraining them
(Using AutoCAD 2013) I am trying to insert a .dwg as a block (which has attributes) using the "-insert" command, but the attributes order wrong. The .dwg I'm inserting is the "Exploded" version of the block (loose attributes) so that I don't have to explode it after inserting.
Is there a way to control the order of the attributes when they are inserted?
