View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to Inventor 2014 we notice that the graphics do not work properly, and that the overall performance in drawings and modelling bad compared to 2013. Then we installed SP1 and now drawing views are disappearing, however when we select "shaded" view the view reappears and works perfectly..
Any workaround regarding disappearing views?
Each time when I place a part in base view, have to follow few steps; go through view label, format Text, than choose type option - [Properties-Model] and its property - [Part Number], than placing dimensions. it takes long time and very repetitive, especially, when placing a hundreds of parts and I was wondering if there is an option, to set up view label; [Properties - Model ]& [Part number], as a DEFAULT. So, each time placing a part, in base view it will come up with correct label. Also, overall dimensions, can it be retrieve using parameters of the part?

Now today any drawing that opens shows the plan view as last saved but then after loading takes the drawing and shifts it into a 3d view similar to a crossection. Is there a setting somewhere that has been changed? I noticed after a windows 7 update was preformed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe are working together with another firm here in town. The are doing the road and we are doing the utilities. They have established the alignments and profiles. When I import them all the data comes in. For whatever reason I do not have their profile views so I create my own profile view and put their profiles in them.
When they send an updated .xml file of all the alignments and profiles, they import okay but my profile views disappear. I assume it's because in their .xml file that I import, there are no profile view defined.
Is there an options when you export and alignment to an .xml file that you can include the profile views with it as well? This way when I import them I would get them.
I am working on an old drawing with 2007 LT. When I draw a horizontal line in modelspace, It shows as a vertical line in a viewport of the layout.
In modelspace, when I type UCS, z, it shows angle about z is 90 degree. I can chang it to 0 here. But still the the line in the view is not rotate back.
How is this set up? How could I rotate back in the view?
I'm working on a Isometric drawing and im trying to dimension the view. I keep the original view there and cut another of the same view and place that cut view over the original, so I have something to snap to while dimensioning.
Every time i go to place the cut view over the original and i always grab the wrong view and move it and I am wondering if there is a way to pin the original view in place permanently?
I have a drawing in dwg that's drawn vertically. By that i mean the texts seem to have been rotated at 90 degree. It's drawn by someone else. I darenot rotate it back fearing i might stuff up the coordinates. But it's hard to see as i need to bend my head to be able to read the drawing and all the texts in it.
Is it possible that without rotating the actual drawing, we can actually somehow set it to something more readable for example, rotate it back to vertical kind of angle. I heard it can be done with view. But i just don't know how to do that.
I use autocad LT 2005.
Is there a way so that when I make a view in a drawing,
it shows up by default with all it's real lines, instead of having to select the options all the time...
My company has just upgraded from stone age AutoCAD to Civil3d 2013 and I've been tasked with figuring out the program.
What I am trying to do is realign my drawing so a line I drew is horizontal to the page. For example, I have a line at a 45 degree angle and I want to rotate my viewport so that line is now at a 0 degree angle. Is there a simple way to do this?
A follow up: I have my point labels set to be a 45 degree angle, will they be at a 45 degree angle when I realign the drawing or will they "rotate" along with the drawing?
For inventor drawing, is that possible to copy a view from one drawing to another different drawing?

I'm using inventor 2010.
When opening a drawing, since I've installed 2013, I don't have an initial view or preview of the drawings I'm selecting. In the open box, the "Initial View" or "Select initial view is unchecked and won't let me put a check mark in so I can review the drawing before opening.

I used the new drawing view tool to create my isometric views. The issue I am having is the outer most edges of my views is not being shown all the time. If I zoom in the edges appear, but when you zoom out to view the entire drawing, the edges are no longer visible. It is like the border around the view that the drawing view tool creates is not offset far enough. How to use the new drawing view tool?

- I don't get to see the 3/4 section.
How does it work? I see in the properties after I high lite it. Annotative Scale no/yes. We xref one drawing into other drawing and the view scale changes. will my hatch look the same or will the smaller view scale look really big in the drawing.

Is there a way to make a base view always look at a surface and follow that surface so that the view on the drawing always looks the same?
For example: If I had a dice and I create a base view of the two dots side of the die. If I roll the die I still want to see in the base view the two dots side of the die in the same orientation.
