View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to read objects on a specific layout in an external drawing.
Reading the external drawing is not a problem when the objects are in "*Modelspace".
But finding the specific layout id and throwing that in an Blocktabelrecord is.
Here is the code.
Dim NaamDwg = "C:Program FilesAutodeskAutoCAD 2011SampleDatabase Connectivitydb_samp.dwg"
Dim strLaagNaam = "FURNITURE"
Try
'' **** Contact maken met externe tekening ****
Dim Xdwg = New Database(False, True)
[code].........
I would like to know how to go about printing scaled drawings form the Layout tab. How do I scale everything onto a say for example A3 paper in a scale of 1:100?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a CAD Drawing in 2010 format. I printed the same drawing from two different types of printer. One from HP Officejet K7108 printer and another from HP Officejet 7000 Wide Format Printer - E809a. But the scale of both drawings are not same.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI worked in a drawing(#1) a few weeks ago and since then have copy pasted the drawings to be scaled at 1 1/2" into another drawing(#2) and have since been only working in this drawing(#2).
In the original drawing(#1), I was able to scale my drawings at 1 1/2" without any problems but in my second drawing(#2), when I try to scale drawings at 1 1/2" all of my annotative bubbles get ridiculously small.
Once having discovered this, I copy pasted my second drawing'(#2) components into a 'Copy' of my original drawing(#1), thinking that my second drawing(#2) file might have been contaminated, but with no luck because I could see that within the Same viewport scaled at 1 1/2" the original drawing(#1) was scaled properly but the second drawing'(#2) symbols became very small.
I am stuck.
Is it possible to show two different viewports in the same layout that show views from two different drawings? So one viewport would show a section of the current drawing's modelspace, and the second viewport would show a a section of modelspace from another drawing? (and possibly update automatically like an XREF?) Or would the easiest way be to just XREF both drawings into a new drawing, and then show viewports from them in the new drawing?
View 3 Replies View RelatedHad an electrical storm and there was a power surge the moment I was saving my completed drawing. Yes, it was perfect timing and yes, I have a power backup. Now titleblock is shown in model space and completed drawings are only shown when scrolling over layout tabs. When I click on the layout tabs only the titleblock shows up. Is there anyway of retrieving the drawings to send back to model space or get them to appear in the layout tabs when shown on the full screen? Are those layout tabs just showing what the drawings used to look like and there is no way of getting to them back?
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor the past 2 days when I switch from one drawing to another, my layout tabs are not updating and stay the same as the previous drawings. I have to do a regen to get the proper tabs in place. All the layouts are there...it is just the tabs that are messed up. Once I click on one of the tabs they straighten themselves out as well, but on that first selection I never get the correct drawing that I want!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am newish to AutoCAD having just gone through a Lynda tutorial.
When i open my layout i see my drawing as a very small drawing at the bottom. When i expand the whole layout i see shapes which re related in that its the basic shape of the drawings but that's it. No lines at all. In the Lynda tutorial all seemed so easy. I am using metric. I have uploaded the file.
I am creating an A3 pdf of a layout at a scale of 1:200. I am creating the pdf from model space, but when I print the pdf off, it is not quite to scale. What am I doing wrong?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI work with a 0.1 text height (in the model tab). I want to have in the layout tab a 1.5 text height always. That is when the scale is 1:200, 1/50, etc.
What do i have to do to achieve that? Maybe annotation scale.
I've got a drawing of a site, which is about 144 meter long, so 144000 mm to put it in autocad units. I drew it completely in millimeters, and made a new scale in the layout view 1:500, all my units are set to millimeters.
I would expect when chosing the scale 1:500 it would precisely fit on my paper, as 144000/500=288 and the longest side of an A4 paper is 297.
But somehow, when chosing the scale, things get seriously messed up... My drawing is no longer recognizable at all as it is zoomed in way to far...
Also, when watching youtube video's about lay-out, I always see a little toolbar under the main frame (the one where your title stands) saying things like new viewport and page setup. Somehow it's not visible with me... How can I turn it on?
I don't know how to plot/scale from layout. I have drawing in model that wont show in layout. Drawing is in scale 1:1 in mm. i have to plot it on 36" paper in scale 1:500. I saw someone scaling it with commands something like, z-s-1xp, an ucs.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using AutoCAD LT 2007 and have a problem with linetype between two drawings. I have a standard key which I use on a number of drawings, problem is when I copy from my original file (in model space) to paper space on another drawing the linetype isn't viewed the same.
I've set LTSCALE to 1. PSLTSCALE to 0, Global scale factor to 1 in both files but still no joy.
Q1: can you scale your drawings on Model Space?? if so, what command should i type?
Q2: can you scale different drawings (different scale) on Model space?
i already know how to change the viewport scaling from 1:1, to 1:10, to 1:20, and so on but my real issue is someone before me change the view scale from 1:1 to 1:.808XXXXX. when i print my figures from the layout everything that is not in the viewport ( like my scale bar) come out shorter that it is on the the screen in paper space. Ive tried to change it back to 1:1 but it wont accept it and keeps the .808XXX value.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using File>Export Layout to Model... command.
The drawing exported in half scale means a circle with 10mm diameter dimension on it exported as a circle with 5mm diameter But the dimension on the circle remains as 10mm!!!
How does this happen and how can I fix it?
Seems this question comes up often so I put this together. If there are any errors or omissions
Options for setting Viewport scale.doc
I work very closely with a customer, and have been asked to implement their drafting standards for a dwg file they received from another vendor. I have attached two drawings, 1 (their vendor's) and 2 (mine, in progress). When opened, I notice the linetype scale *appears* different between the drawings (note the differences within "LINE LEGEND" section of both drawings). It *appears* as though Drawing 2 has double the linetype scale of Drawing 1.
I realize that within Drawing 2 I could set the LTSCALE variable to 0.5, but that seems like a work-around and may cause problems with other aspects of the customer's drafting standards in the future.
I've already confirmed that both drawings have the same values for LTSCALE, PSLTSCALE, MSLTSCALE, CELTSCALE. I've also already confirmed that, for the "PACKAGED EQUIPMENT" entry with the legend, the properties dialog box shows the exact same values for all fields. Lastly, (trying [URL] .....) I re-loaded the linetype for PHANTOM2.
I'd like to have them both appear the same, if possible.
Someone was using my computer and maybe they clicked on some button but now if I am in a layout and double click on my viewport I can not change the View Scale by typing in a custom scale.
I typically work in meters and do subdivision layout so I use 1:500 up to 1:5,000 but now even though the view ports are unlocked the number will not change when I type it in but I can zoom in and out with my mouse.
I can pick a scale in viewport scale like 1:5 1:1 but prefer to type in my scale as I like to plot it.
I have two drawings, both in unit: meters, UCS world (however I think that doesn't matter). How come that a hatch with same scale appears denser in one drawing than the other?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently started working at an Electrical Engineering firm and one of my many tasks is to sort out their AutoCad system and bring it up to date! An issue that has only recently started happening is that our blocks don't insert at the correct scale. Some of our drawings are metric and some are imperial, and currently all our blocks are in one Imperial file (reference file for our palettes). Is this our issue, my understanding is that when you create a block you should create it as a wblock and each block should have its own file.
The problem is that some of our blocks we want to come in at scale ex/ a 2'x4' light fixture, however an electrical socket or light switch symbol we want to come in at a slightly enlarged scale so that you can easily read the drawing and see where they are located.
I've created a new sheet set with some existing drawing files. These files have several layout tabs in each drawing. The Sheet Set Manager (SSM) seems to import the layout tabs in random order, not in the order they appear on the drawing, nor in alphabetical or numerical order. In addition, the SSM imports and numbers all of my drawings in reverse order. Any system variable setting, or some other property setting somewhere that will change this back to ascending order?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have this complex section of an architectural project, which is drawn at 1:1 scale (obviously). It has lots of constructive details, however i've made lots of layers and everything is under control. However, as I started to hatch the drawings, i was having big problems at using the same drawing for different scales, because non-annotative hatches also change their size with different scales.
So I began trying annotative, and i did it as i read in several how-tos. I made an hatch in the layout to know the perfect scale for the hatch, then applied that scale in model hatches. Then, in properties, I selected the scales at which that hatch should belong. Until here everything was OK!
However, as the ideal scale for the hatches (ANSI31) was something like 0.0003, here started the problems. The layout has an erratic behavior with similar hatches (I even tried to use match props to be sure different hatches had the same properties). On different viewports, some of the hatches appear as solid, and they plot just like that! As I zoom in and zoom out, the problem changes, as problematic viewports become right and others become wrong.
I tried to change HPmaxlines to 10000000, i tried to change the size of ansi31 in acad.pat, however the problem persists. It seems that the problem disappears when i have increase the hatch scale to, lets say, 0.05, however it's not that scale I want because of the presentation...
I can't seem to change a viewport in layout view to show my drawing properly. No matter what I do the page only shows a very zoomed in view or a very zoomed out view. I have tried all menu options witht he word scale in, including the scale list. I have looked in the properties inspector.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently joined a firm that has been working drawings up in meters in model space
The issue comes that when i go to input a scale at the viewport stage the drawing is tiny. Ive always worked in mm and thus never had this issue when using the standard 'z' enter 's' enter 1/##xp' to achieve the desired scale
i would like to understand how i can still work these drawings without scaling everything up in model space at a factor of 1000, which is the only way i can think of getting round this issue.
I am having trouble trying to change the View Scale in the the layout tab. Someone before me changed it to be 1:0.808 and now when i print my drawings they are all smaller than what is shown on the screen. how do i go about changing this number so its 1:1?
