View 2 RepliesI have trouble modifying the title blocks for the map book templates . Is there a specific folder that I need to save the adjusted title block in. Going through the block editor doesn’t work so I’m exploding the block and once I do that the links have been broken between the title block and map books.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHave more than one drawing template? (we use A and B size sheets)
My questions concerns, metric vs imperial A vs B vs C etc etc drawing sheet size title block does not scale down accordingly when change sheet size within an existing drawing template.
Is it possible to have one drawing template that can be toggle imperial vs metric, and then sheet size selected and then the title block scaled down or up accordingly? (I would assume this could be done using iLogic)
Or is it normal to have different drawing templates for sizes and units?
I want to import default templates (Title Blocks) with in Auto cad. Is there any option ? How to proceed?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a situation where I need to place a curved door in a curved wall, I do not want to model in place or look for a work around but would like to create a family template that that could be used frequently.
In previous versions I was able to copy the metric door.rft and rename it to i.e. Metric Door_Radial Host.rfa. I would then be able to edit this template to suit my requirements, save and rename to .rft. This template would then be live.
In 2013 it seems that I cannot open a .rfa file for editing.
we have just upgraded from Inv 2011 to 2013. I am trying to create the drawing templates in 2013 by using the blank 2013 template and then copying our border from 2011 onto it. This works a treat apart from 1 thing.
The i properties do not get copied over as well so the sheet is blank from drawing number, title and the custom properties etc.
I have a block of a survey from an outside company which was sent as a block.I am guessing that when it was creating, they un-checked the box that allows it to be exploded.
I would like to edit the block, and without being able to explode it, I have to go into the block editor to do so.Is there a way in block manager to change it so that I can explode the block?
Let's say I have a whole bunch of blocks, and they are all different colors. I want to make them all one color without having to go into the block editor screen for each one. there has to be a way.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a macro that can edit the default value off the attriburte for each block in the drawing. The new value must be empty.
But there is one exception. When the length of the current value is equal to 8 then the macro's has to do nothing and the macro must continue to the next block.
Using LT 2014 on Win 7 Pro.
Recently got a new PC and due to problems with regular LT crashes I have recreated my customizations etc. from scratch.
Finally seem to have got everything working OK and how I it was on my old PC, other than one minor issue.
I have edited the CUI so that the "old" attribute editor (ATTEDIT) is launched rather than the enhanced (EATTEDIT) version.
However after double clicking a block a further third click is required to select block/launch editor.
Editing CUI back to EATTEDIT works ok with only a double click required.
I am struggling to edit the standard set of blocks that comes with AutoCAD such as receptacles junction boxes etc. I want to edit the standard blocks and then save my changes for future use. Right now the blocks come in at different sizes then I would like. I try to edit them in the block editor however the changes I make do not apply to any other or new drawings that I make.
I have attached an image of the differing symbols and sizes. I want them to be consistently sized.
In attachment is a file created in AutoCAD 2010. This file contains a block in the block editor that I can no longer edit the command in the message "Numeric overflow".

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a .dwg file which contains numerous blocks (70 or so) and they all have unique names. All these blocks have nested text.
I want to edit the attributes of all the text, in all these blocks, such that they assume the same text style, text layer and colour.
Obviously, with so many blocks, I want to avoid clicking on the text and editing the attributes individually.
I tried a lisp file called ATcolour.lisp, but even this is very time consuming.
Seems like Multi-View Blocks are like that hot red-head in high school that you really want to get to know until you get to know them.
I made a bunch of blocks for my electrical plans. Annotative symbols for plan view, 3D blocks for model view, and elevation blocks for elevations. I then started creating the MVBs.
Upon insertion the annotative blocks appear super small and the model view blocks scale way up. The model view blocks are not annotative and are not supposed to scale at all. It seems MVBs see any block inside that is annotative as an indication that the entire MVB shall be annotative. Fustrated, I finally found a work-around that is a bit half-arsed:
I made another block as a sort of holder for the annotative symbols that was set to not be annotative and inserted that into the MVB. VOILA! the MVB itself doesn't scale, but the annotative symbol inside the non-annotative block does. This works fine except for one caveat: I can't edit attributes that are in blocks inside of blocks. If I made another block to use in the MVB for the attributes, it would work, so long as I don't make it annotative, which isn't what I want.
So, A) is there a better work-around than the block-in-a-block-in-a-multi-view-block method, or B) Is there a way to access and edit attribute data of sub-blocks inside a MVB?
Maybe my next thread will be about red-headed Multi-View Blocks with carpets that match the drapes.
Edit: Running ACA 2009
The 2D drawings I am working with were exported from 3D REVIT files to 2D AutoCAD files. There are several XREFed drawings that are both mechanical and architectural from the original REVIT files that for whatever reason, the block's line weights came over with line weights of 70 in those blocks.
When I plot, the objects are a blur with the line weight so high. I tried using the command "setbylayer" but that didn't work since nested blocks still had lineweights of 70. Is there a VBA or LISP routine to run through all the blocks (including nested) that can change the line weights to a given number?
How do i convert 2004 LT DWG to PDF?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhile working on a drawing today I realized that when I modified dimension styles ... arrow size, text size, spacing, etc. , upon closing the modify style window the changes I'd made automatically took effect on the screen. In other words I did not have to use the dimension update command to make the changes appear in dimensions already in the drawing. All the dimensions changed to show the changes automatically. I'm pretty sure I haven't seen this before.
I went to another drawing and the updates did not automatically occur. I inserted part of the old drawing into the current drawing and made dimension style changes again. The changes updated automatically in the new content but not on the content inserted from the old drawing.
how add the hatches back in the AutoCAD 2004

I have 106 files that I have to save as version 2004 for a contractor. They have been able to open all of the converted files except one. I have run an audit and found nothing. I have purged everything and still no luck.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am doing some tooling drawings for my company. I am using AutoCad LT 2008. When I email my drawings, I have to convert them to Autocad 2004 so the tooling company can open the drawings. They then convert it to Mega Cad 4.8 to import it into their system. My problem is that any text in my drawings does not show up for them in either programs. I have tried several different fonts, but nothing works. This is causing time consuming problems for both of us.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I right click on a viewport I no longer get the menu that includes the lock/unlock choice, or anything else. I can select the viewport but I have no control over it. Also when I select objects the layer information is not displayed. Until today I did not have this problem. I'm thinking it might be a settings issue, because if I open this file up on another computer I can control viewport as usual. The only think I can think of that I may have done different is I was experimenting with rotation of view ports.
View 7 Replies View RelatedHow to make my own toolbar buttons for ACAD 2004 yet am having trouble figuring out what I would write as the macro command for the operation in the button creation dialog box for a specific operation.
There will be 3 buttons. One for .XX, one .XXX, one .XXXX precision edit of an existing dimension. IOW, if I have a 2 place precision dimension and wish it to be 4 place, I'll click the '.XXXX button' then click the dimension and it will change to 4 place. In addition, I'd like for it to update immediately for multiple dimension picks if possible just like 'match properties'.
I run Autodesk Land Desktop 2004 on Vista, it works, kind of.
I get this error message when I open the program: "Error writing the acamap.sys file"
When I say OK to the message, the program starts working.
At the end when i close the program i get this message: " Autocad application has stopped working"
The next message after this is: " Download updates for 2004"
Any way to avoid these annoying messages?
We are now running AutoCAD 2012 on our network. We had a third party come in a long time ago and write us a custom macro that generates specsheets for our product. The problem is it was written for AutoCAD 2004.
Any way to move that code from 2004 to 2012 somewhat easily. If not easily, at least tell me that it is possible without having to rewrite the entire macro.
