AutoCad :: Custom Field In Title Block To Display Autodesk Product Name

Mar 22, 2011

I would like to have a field in the title block that reports whether the drawing was created with Autocad or Civil 3D and also whether it was 2009 or 2011. The only system variable I found close was acadver but it doesn't distinguish between products.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Title Block - Material Field

Aug 29, 2012

I am using 2013 Inventor. My company uses the .dwg file extension instead of .idw (if that makes a difference). When I make a new .dwg file and insert an .ipt file for my first base drawing ..The material field of the .dwg Title Block is populated. This is something I would like to avoid. When I open iProps in the .ipt drawing and go to the Physical/Material Tab don’t seem to have the option to display a blank (no information) in the material field in the Title Block. The closest I can come to this is to choose Generic, which looks kind of odd.

My company chooses to give all material specs in a note displayed on the drawing. In case of a material change at some point, I do NOT want to have to change the note on the drawing AS WELL AS the Material information in the .ipt iProps. The reason is that, sooner or later, I’ll forget to change both(which will lead to confusion) and possibility lead to making junk parts (made of the wrong material) which will then have to be thrown away (at perhaps a major loss).

AutoCAD Architecture :: Title Block With Scale Field?

Jul 6, 2011

One of the guys here has created a title block which has a scale field in it, this field reads the scale at which the title block is brought in, by use of an invisible attribute (he used the block in model space so that's why I scale them up). When he xref the dwg into my main drawing all is fine and the scales are as they should be but when he prints, the scales all show 1:1 on the print and in the main drawing. Could this be due to the fact that the xref is brought in at 1:1? But we can't see why this would change it as the block is obviously still at e.g. 1:50 in the xref.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Unit Display In Title Block

Apr 23, 2013

Below is a code I managed to scramble together to display the unit used in the drawing template. The units are selected once the drawing is opened based the Standards ANSI and ANSI-mm from the styles library.

The code displays the units used in template as a custom iproperty called "drawingUNITS". This code works great however, I would like it if possible to be more clearer to the shop guys looking at the drawings.

I would the result to be

ANSI = Imperial (or inches) and ANSI-mm = Metric

is there somewhere in the code provided that I can get my desired result?

' To use this rule, create a Text parameter named Standard in the drawing.' Assign it values such as:

' ANSI' ANSI-mmdoc = ThisDoc.DocumentcustomPropertySet = doc.PropertySets.Item("Inventor User Defined Properties") 'Make sure drawingUNITS property existsTry prop = customPropertySet.Item("drawingUNITS")Catch 'Assume error means not found customPropertySet.Add("", "drawingUNITS")End TryDim drawingDoc as DrawingDocument = ThisDoc.DocumentFor Each standardX In [code].......

As I am working with the unit scale "meters" and when I want to scale my drawing at 1:500 the command I use is z (enter) 2/1xp. But I want the viewport field to say 1:500 instead.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Custom Title Block Position?

Jun 19, 2012

I have created a custom title block and border for one of the automotive manufacturers since I need to submit all their drawings in the standard border and title block format. The border is quite broad, so when I insert the new title block, it overlaps the border slightly. I need to try and find the setting to control the exact point at which the title block is positioned when inserted into a drawing.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Custom Title Block Information

Feb 13, 2013

I've argued this repeatedly with the powers that be at my small company and they're set on some old methods that I'm trying to figure out how to make happen.

We often have weldments where we do an assembled view on page 1 and balloon it and have a parts list. Pages 2-4 will be the details of the welded parts. On page 1, I bring in the "Title" and "Subject" fields from the assembly iProperties.

Here's the tricky part. On pages 2+, I don't want to bring in those two fields, I want to bring in something different. Is it possible to differentiate like that?

Second part of the question: is there a way to pull the balloon item number from page 1 into a field somewhere on following pages? For example: page 3 may show the details for "item 2". Can I bring the value of that balloon (item 2) into page 3 somehow?

Example:

I want:

first row: rev #,
second row: by,
third row rev #,
fourth row: by,
and so on.

Right now I created prompt line "rev (1)", "by (1)", "rev (2)" and so on, but this still wont show the right order in custom props.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Custom Title Block Properties Based On Project File?

Mar 21, 2013

As I am creating drawings for parts/assemblies, I have to fill out the customers name and the job number which I currently do on every drawing I create by right clicking on the Drawing name in the tree, going to iProperties, and then filling out the fields I need.

I have to do this for every sheet. Sometimes over 100 sheets per job.

Is there a way, within the project file maybe, to have these fields be already filled in with the customers name and job number?

Every new project file I make is a new customer. So I'm wondering if there is someway to tweak the project file.

The title blocks that we use have prompted entries in them and I would like to find a way using iLogic to copy the entries from one title block to another within the same drawing; i.e.. if the user decides to change from an A2 to A1 drawing.

I already have an iLogic rule which allows the user to change the active border, title block and sheet size based on a form selection but would like it to capture the prompted entries already entered and re-use them after the change.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Convert Block Back To Title Block Or Border

Feb 15, 2012

We have a title block and border which is used in MS.  If this is referenced using AMTITLE then it acts as expected.  We issue these to some external people to create our drawings but they have been using CTRL-C and V to place them in a new drawing.  ACAD does now not see them as a Title block or border but as blocks.  We have a process to bring DWG's into SAP and this will check for a title block and border.

The issue is we need to fix these drawings and currently this means removing the borders and title blocks and placing new ones then adding all the attributes again.  Is there a way to convert the blocks back to how they should be?

AutoCad :: Attribute In Title Block Exists In Block Editor But Not In Project

Sep 6, 2012

Autocad 2011, Electrical package,

I have an existing title block a few text attributes, to which I wish to add a watermark. I have added it in the block editor as a normal attribute, with the same details as the other attributes that work, only a different tag name. It has a default value, "DRAFT" and is tagged "WMARK". It works fine in the Block Editor, and If I test the block I can edit it to display whatever I want, but if I save the block and open it from Autocad proper, the attribute is not in existence, either as a default value, or editable from block properties, attribute editor or title block editor, whereas all of the other attributes are there. I have used BattMan to verify the settings of the attribute, and the only difference is that the others all have "L" in the "Modes" column, but I think that means that their position is "locked" whereas my new attribute is justified "aligned" therefore cannot be "locked" (This is some assumption on my part, as the documentation on the "Modes" column is almost non-existent). I cannot afford to waste much more time on this issue, as the boss is breathing down my neck, but editing watermarks on every drawing after every revision is frustrating, when it could be an attribute that is editable from the title block editor.

Lightroom :: SQLite Database Is The Title Field?

Jan 1, 2014

Where in the SQLite database is the "Title" field? I have analyzed the database structure (after linking a copy of the LRCAT to MS-Access via ODBC), and found practically all fields of interest. I even managed to convert the shutter speed and aperture data (which are logarithmic) to useful values.  But I did not find the "Title" field in the DB. I found that any entry made into "Title" is written into the picture file's EXIF data but I cannot believe that LR uses that as the only storage for the picture title.

Note: I do not use the database link to change any data in the LR database. I use this only to more effective browse through the picture data

PS: If the Title field is not currently in the LRCAT database I would suggest to add it. It does not make sense in my opinion to have 99% of the picture data inside LR, and rely on the picture file's EXIF data for one or two items.
