View 1 RepliesAny way to print/plot a layer in a VPORT, but prevent the same layer from printing in Model Space?
I am annotating my VPORTS with text, but I don't want any of this text to print/plot from Model space. All of the annotations will be on the same layer even though the annotations will appear on multiple VPORTS.
I have to print PDF file of model And this PDF file should have access to rotate model as we do in inventor. I came across such file few days ago. I tried in inventor it I could not do.
(# Ref attachment of PDF file having access to rotate model)
I made PDF file but that doesn't,t have access to rotate as first one has. ( # ref 2 ND attachment.)
I'm trying to print my 3d model in Autocad 2012 using layout but it creates a thick outline which I don't need. Is there a way to make this outline the same weight as all the rest lines? (The line weight is normal in drawing). Also some broken lines appears when I plot this drawing which I would like to repair... If it's important: I imported this model from Revit.
that's the drawing: [URL].......

I'm trying to plot a lot of drawing files that are in model space. We use to do this with batch plot. Is there still a way to do this in 2009.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWorking in AutoCAD 2010. Recently I've started to notice that the dimensions on my print are not exactly aligned with the model/object. Only the dimensions seem to be shifted slightly in two directions (~1mm?). On screen, everything looks great.
Typically, I design 3d parts (model tab), then in the layout tab set up viewports (mview), and dimension in paper space...
Is there some paperspace offset I may have inadvertently invoked?
I recently joined a firm that has been working drawings up in meters in model space
The issue comes that when i go to input a scale at the viewport stage the drawing is tiny. Ive always worked in mm and thus never had this issue when using the standard 'z' enter 's' enter 1/##xp' to achieve the desired scale
i would like to understand how i can still work these drawings without scaling everything up in model space at a factor of 1000, which is the only way i can think of getting round this issue.
When Im in model mode mode I create txt to annotate my diamentions, when I sent up my page in paper mode and plot it to a pdf, all the text ive created in model mode appears on the pdf as outlined text ( hollow ).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using AC 2011LT on a PC Every time I print to PDF or printer a line appears which is not visible on the model or paper space. It is even not visible when I preview the print before printing (again from model or paper). And on different layouts the line moves and sometimes doubles.
I have done all the regular things - all layers on, all unfrozen, all visible, etc, I've purged, regened, made a save as file, gone to another persons computer but still the same problem.
I have several objects on various layers in model space and they are exposed through a viewport in a paperspace layout. I also have a corporate CTB plot style.
Here is my problem: If i plot the objects from model space, they all plot with the correct lineweights as defined in our corporate CTB, but when i plot them from the paperspace layout, some but not all objects plot with a heavier lineweight than what is defined in the CTB.
I thought the CTB was supposed to override any settings applied to individual objects, but more importantly, why the different results, on the same objects, depending upon the space from which they're plotted?
I need to plot a drawing with a few plans, which are in 2D but also a 3D model of the intire installation and a few side views, which are side views of the 3D model. When I plot the drawing I am able to get the side views in black and white by taking the following steps:(i got these steps from this post: URL....
- set the visual style (in model space) to hidden or wireframe.
- in the layout you select a viewport that conntains a 3D visualisation and double click in that window to set the visual style to 2D wireframe and also set the viewports shade plot to hidden.
because the plotter is black and white only I see those side views in different shades of grey but the problem is that the difference in grey isn't clear enough (and yellow pipes are hardly visible) and I can't adjust these. When adjusting the .ctb it only affects the 2D views and not the 3D views.
It is possible to change the greyness by changing the color of the diffent pipes that are in the drawing but this is not a desired option by the client.how to alter the shades of grey in 3D visualisations so that not all pipelines look the same .I attached a file of what the plot preview looks like and another of what the actual plot looks like
Am trying to convert this pump into solid ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got back from maternity leave and I left work at Autocad 2011 and came back on Autocad 2013. I work thru my viewports in my model space, and I've noticed that when I pan and zoom in or out or move to quickly from one point to another (didn't notice which) my model space swaps to paper even if I'm in a command. Is this something I can deactivate?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy problem today is that I made a Model of a Part of a ship using surfaces rather than solids because the engineer thought it would be easier to bring into ANSYS program for analysis but he is now having a problem with it and I am looking into converting my current model to solid. I can do it but the method I thought of using is quite long winded and we are working to a tight deadline.
1.open up the surface part
2.use "Offset/Thicken"
3.any clashes between parts make a sketch and cut away.
the problem is the amount of plates I have and the time it takes to sort them out.
I then change to my A0 template on a different tab in the same drawing, size up the model in model space within the viewport (everything still fine), then as soon as I scale the model to 1:200 the icons I've added to the drawing (I say icon it's one particular group of icons - CCTV camera icons I've made and added) suddenly become massive and three times the size.
If I add them when already at 1:200 they're fine but it only seems to do this when I actually scale the drawing.
I have a .dxf model and I need the file in .ipt format as a 3d model. (I got the file from a website)
View 3 Replies View RelatedBasically I've got a detail specific to my design, I've extruded all of the layers up to their desired levels etc, but now I want to be able to rotate it all so that instead of these layers being orientated vertically, they are orientated horizontally, if that makes sense. I understand that there is something involved with the UCS but I'm not sure how to get this to work. This may be an issue with my computer as I know my laptop graphics card is pretty rubbish and impacts a lot of 3d programs such as Rhino and SketchUp so this could be the issue here

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am currently using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 for surveying work and have been trying to figure out how to use part of an existing survey of land model. I have it in a layout (paper space) and used a viewport to get the section I am after but there are some changes in labeling and minor model modifications needed to make it a stand alone model and I do not want to modify the original model to make these changes. How can I take a section like I have in view port and make it into its own model with a different scale so the changes can be made and the original model is left in tact?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe received a surface model from a vendor that I have patched up as best I can, it still has one hole that I can find that I haven't been able to fill. Ideally we would like to have a solid model, but I'm running out of time to get this done and the surface model we have would be good enough for our purposes IF I can get the yellow surface tangent lines to turn off or change their color to black.
I've attached a jpg of the surface model with the yellow lines and uploaded the model here: [URL].....
CIvil 3D 2013 / My drawing opens in layout view and all model objects are appropriately coloured by layer. If I hit plot at this point, my colour dependent .ctb file works fine. However, once I swtich to model view, all my linework turns white and if I switch back to Layout view it remains white and plots each line with the weight assigned to the colour white.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen printing in 3d with the vp set to 3dhidden and the shade plot set to hidden legacy some solid items print with the wire frame. This usualy happens with torus and cones. How do I stop this?
In the example look at the U-bolt.
I am having trouble printing to an HP Designjet T770 from AutoCad LT 2012, on a Windows 7 computer.
I am using the HPGL/2 driver. I can print a test page, and I can print from other programs.
When I try to print, it looks like it is sending it normally, but the printer just ignores it.
I am able to print to this printer from AutoCad 2010 on a Vista computer.
I have multiple layout pages (58 pages) and would like to print them in a printer at once. How do I do that?
Currently, I open 1 layout at a time then print it 1 by 1, in which its killing me specially if I do have lots of drawings.
Publish does saving in DWF, PDF... But does not print in the printer.
We just started in 2014 last week. When we batch plot to PDF using the DWG to PDF driver we get multi-page files no matter which is selected in the Publish Options. Any way to allow single sheet PDF creation?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing where some lines have a 60% screening in there Plot Style. The print great from AutoCAD. But when I create a PDF and then print the PDF the Screened lines show up kind of blue / purple.
I am plotting to a Cannon iPF720 on 22x34 paper from Acrobat Reader X. I'm creating the PDF from AutoCAD 2012.
I get "Fatal Error: Unhandled c000000dh Exception at 24079af3h" every time when I print to pdf with Acrobat 9 in AutoCAD 2012. However, the Acrobat converter is working properly in other applications. It only happens in ACad 2012.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two layers. One is set to red color, the other to blue color (using ctb). I have both layers defaulted to 1 mm line weight thickness. Blue is continuous and Red is dashed.
When printing the blue layer prints at the correct weight of 1mm, while the dashed red layer prints at a much smaller thickness. All line properties are set to default or bylayer (this is not being caused by the lines having individual special properties).
