AutoCad 3D :: Presspull - Unable To Change Pattern
Jan 31, 2014
I have drawn a plan of a house. I used the presspull command to lift the exterior walls 3m. The problem I am facing is when I attempt to lift the internal walls, there is a grid pattern that forms, whereas no pattern has appeared on the external.
I have looked through properties but I can't seem to change the pattern. I am using AutoCAD 2014.
Presspull doesn't work. When I click in a boundry responding to the request of the "Presspull" command, nothing happends. It doesn't recognize any region, even a region of a circle.
I've drawn a 3d object by revolving a 2d surface. the problem is, if i draw a box and want to presspull an area on any of its surface i can draw draw the area on that surface, but when i try to draw the area to be presspulled on the 3d object that was drawn by revolving it doesnot come on the desired surface, rather it comes on the X-Y plane.
The problem I'm having is presspull/extrude irregular shapes.
I have some really weird, irregular shapes that's consisted of fillets, lines, and arcs. For some reason I cannot REGION it. But I can HATCH it, and give it a solid inner part.
My irregular after being filled, can't be extruded. When I try extruding it, the command line goes "This kind of shape cannot be extruded", without any explanation, or keywords.
Then, if I try to PressPull, it only PressPull the outline of the irregular shape, without pulling out the inner bulk part.
Then if I try to do anything more, my AutoCad likes to go "About to regen -- proceed?" error.
I am using AutoCAD 2013. During the creation of 3D while I am using Presspull Command, it works fine in the beginning after some time, AutoCAD seems to be hang while I took the command but once I press Esc, AutoCAD continue working.
I am semi-new to AutoCAD but have a fairly good knowledge of how to work the program now. However, I am continuously having problems with the presspull command. When I try to use the command on an object, the object is raised but not filled. It looks sort of like a fence/outline around the border of the object with a grid pattern.
I want to creat a flatpattern of an iregulary cut cylinder that was made in the standard .ipt world and is now converted into a sheetmetal. I want to "Unroll" the piece out so can see the shape of it as a flat piece. Picture of it is attached.
I can't get Inventor to create a flat pattern of the attached sheetmetal part. It's a pretty basic part, just five folds. I'm not getting any error issues - when I go to the flat pattern it just shows the folded part (picture attached).
I assume it has something to do with the way I folded it and the notches, etc. Inv makes to accomplish the fold. I'm using Inventor 2013 on Win 8.
I have a 2D drawing that I used presspull to give the correct depth to. Now I have to make modifications to it that are angular to the presspull direction and am not sure that presspull is the correct way to do it. I've searched around for vids and have looked at quite a few, but am stumped. Don't know if I need to change the orientation so that the angle I want to cut is the direction for presspull or if I am simply looking at the problem wrong. If I knew how to take a screenshot, I would post some so that it would be clear how inept I am.
I'm trying to use ilogic to suppress some individual elements of a pattern but i couldn't find any command that can target component pattern elements. When i try to capture its current state with the right click menu it does nothing.
I can of course suppress the part within the element but then it doesn't update the BOM.
I'm having trouble creating a flat pattern from a solid i've modelled.
Workflow: Created a 2D sketch in xy plane and extruded -1084 mm in z dir. Created cut, and extruded slots which were then patterned with rectangular pattern.
Converted to sheet metal, and then tried to flat pattern.
Tried to remove all features exept the 1st extrude, still having the same problem.
I have tried to set the correct material and sheet metal defaults, but still no luck.
I have an assembly with several parts where I use a pattern to duplicate the parts in the height. I cannot use the pattern sideways due to different center distances between the parts. I could get this distance by using several patterns, but I rather not if there is another way.
I have made a code for suppressing the parts in element 2 if the same part is suppressed in element 1.
The company I work for has a large number of Left Hand and Right Hand sheet metal parts. To reduce the amount of time needed to create both Left Hand and Right Hand sheet metal parts, I use the Derived Part icon. I create a Left Hand part, use the derive icon with mirroring on and create the Right Hand part. While the Right Hand sheet metal part gets created, the Right Hand part will not allow me to create a Flat Pattern.
what steps must I follow to create a derived sheet metal part that I can make a Flat Pattern with?
I am able to extract an flat pattern (for round to square) but not exactly as the customers drawing.
The original drawing shows some relief in bending lines which i am not able to add in inventor. after a glance at the attachments you will clearly understand what i want.
I am facing small problem with inverter drafting. I am unable to show hidden line of pattern by direct selection of all object . I have to select one by one item from pattern.
In my drawing there is tie rod item ( find attached file) i have shown hidden line of only this part . and i have to select all items one by one.
I have modelled a disc, which has 6 cylindrical extrusions in a circular pattern on the disc surface. I want to change the number of occurrences (the "placement") to 9 but the "OK" button is disabled. I get the preview od the 9 occurrences, but it will not complete the command.
Is there any way to change the default hatch patern from ANSI31?
the default hatch is WAY too small for sitework & tends to bog things down if you forget to set the hatch pattern first.
I tried HPNAME but that seems to be session dependent & doesn't work if set in the default template.
I'm about >< this far from just editing the ANSI31 definition - I know this is NOT a good idea but I hate having things freeze up whenever I forget to set the hatch pattern & hatch a 20' wide X 1000" long firelane with ANSI31 at scale 1.
I am running Civil 3D 2010. I have hatch a bunch of areas with the gravel pattern hatch. However, they are at different scales. When I try to change the scale I get a totally different hatch pattern. I have attached a screen shot showing my problem. Hatch picture.pdf
I have several objects in a drawing. These objects are placed on a layer: "Layerhatch". These objects all have a hatch pattern: "solid". Now I want with vba that the pattern of this objects change from "solid"into "ANSI31". (For example with a button).
I have tried this with a adadselectionset but it doesn't work.
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() Dim tSelSet As AcadSelectionSet Set tSelSet = getSelSetByLayer("Layerhatch") If tSelSet Is Nothing Then MsgBox ("No Selectionset") ElseIf tSelSet.Count = 0 Then MsgBox ("No objects found on Layer "Layerhatch") Else
I need to change the hatch size (not the pattern scale or space, juste the hatch size).
Exemple : I have a circle, and a hatch inside the circle. The radius of the circle is 10, so the radius of the hatch is 10 too.
What i want to do is to make the hatch smaller (or bigger) like this : Circle radius : 10, Hatch Radius 5 (or 15).
My first idea was to recreate a new circle with radius 5, and a new hatch inside and then erase the second circle. It works, but not very effective in my case.
So, it's why i came here to ask if there is any solutions to make this faster, easier, without having to recrate another hatch, another circle...
is it possible to change the colour of all elements in a pattern without changing the ipt file?
I have an assembly that has 4 rectangular patterns that can have any number of elements, sometimes the customer will ask for coating to be applied, in this case i only want to change the colour at the assembly level only.
For some reason I can't change the hatch pattern scale prior to hatching an object although after placing the hatch I can. The procedure I am using is as follows in LT2011. Select hatch, set the hatch style, over type the scale say to 100, click inside the area to hatch. Immediately the hatch pattern scale sets itself back to 1 I then have to type 100 back in and then the hatching will be set.
I am completely new to ilogic but would like to make a rule in my idw file that change the hatch pattern in a section of a specific material.
Short Version:
I have an aluminum extrusion part. Material is set to Aluminum-6061. In any section view of this part I want the hatch to be ANSI 31 with a rotation of 45 degrees and a scale of .02 How do I do this?
Is there a way to use PRESSPULL on a face that's behind or underneath another face. When I use PRESSPULL it always selects the face on top and sometimes I want a face that is behind or underneath that face.
