For some reason I can't change the hatch pattern scale prior to hatching an object although after placing the hatch I can. The procedure I am using is as follows in LT2011. Select hatch, set the hatch style, over type the scale say to 100, click inside the area to hatch. Immediately the hatch pattern scale sets itself back to 1 I then have to type 100 back in and then the hatching will be set.

I am running Civil 3D 2010. I have hatch a bunch of areas with the gravel pattern hatch. However, they are at different scales. When I try to change the scale I get a totally different hatch pattern. I have attached a screen shot showing my problem. Hatch picture.pdf

Exemple : I have a circle, and a hatch inside the circle. The radius of the circle is 10, so the radius of the hatch is 10 too.
What i want to do is to make the hatch smaller (or bigger) like this : Circle radius : 10, Hatch Radius 5 (or 15).
My first idea was to recreate a new circle with radius 5, and a new hatch inside and then erase the second circle. It works, but not very effective in my case.
So, it's why i came here to ask if there is any solutions to make this faster, easier, without having to recrate another hatch, another circle...

When i go into Hatch edit after i have clicked out of it, i can get it to go to the scale i need. It just wastes so much time to have to do two steps instead of one. the default hatch is WAY too small for sitework & tends to bog things down if you forget to set the hatch pattern first.
I tried HPNAME but that seems to be session dependent & doesn't work if set in the default template.

The Arrow head size didn't change corresponding to the scale, i included the pic below, the top picture, the arrow head was set at .18" but was really small when i plot out, so i wanted to make it bigger, when i changed to .50" or .75" or even 1" the arrow head became even smaller than .18". I created a wall detail in a scale of 3/4"=1' and when I change the scale to 3"=1' the hatching becomes smaller. I want the hatching to get larger without having to redraw it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently working on the drawing which I initially didnt have a template for (ie the border for the A1 page this drawing will be printed on) so off I went and started drawing using a scale of 1 drawing units = 1mm.
Now I have been given the border and the drawing I have comes no where near fitting on the sheet so I want to select all of the drawing and change the scale but I obviously don't want the dimensions to change. How can I achieve this?
I also need to know as there are certain parts of the drawings that need zoomed in views so all I want to do is copy the parts I have drawn and increase the scale but again keep the dimensions the same.
Is it possible to scale the cross-hatching in a detail that was created from a section view so it looks better with the scale of a detail? If the scale factor of a detail is much larger than its parent, the cross-hatching is very sparse and detracts from clarity rather than adding to it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a hatch (ANSI31) enclosed by a closed polyline. Whenever I change the hatch from ANSI31 to GRAVEL some of the hatch shows up outside the boundary. The Polyline consists of both arcs and line segments, and the hatching errors are occurring within the radius of the arc segments. Changing it from Associative to Non Associative makes no change.

i am having a hatching issue, it seems no matter what hatch pattern i use and what hatch scale, alot of the hatch looks solid instead of the pattern i want, for example i am using currently ANSI37 @ Annotative with a scale of .20 and on the same paperspace page one plan with the hatch shows the cross hatching and the other one below looks solid (see attached) now i can go and say change the hatch scale and it reverts to the cross hatching, but then when i zoom out it goes back to "solid" is it a graphical issue?

When I open a new drawing in my AutoCAD 2013 that I just recently installed last week, I encounter a problem that I am not familiar with from previus versions of AutoCAD I have worked on. First of all, the units default to decimal, and I want them to default to architectural, with feet and inches. I have to type UNITS in the command line every time I open a new drawing in order to adjust this. I have AutoCAD for Architecture 2012 on another computer, and the program automatically defaults to architectural units upon opening up. Just to let you know, the program I am having this difficulty with is part of a package called Autodesk Building Design Suite 2013. I was under the impression that it included AutoCAd for Architecture, but I think it has only standard AutoCAD.
The scale of the objects I draw vs. the scale of the drawing field is very out of proportion. What I mean is, when I open a new drawing and draw a 30' -0" line, the line appears so long on the screen that I cannot see the whole object, even if I zoom out to the maximum. I should be able to see the object in it's entirety. In fact, when I draw a line that is only 12" long, even when the zoom is all the way out, the line looks huge in length. I have tried adjusting the units to the architectural/inches setting of course, and I have tried adjusting the scale in model space from 1:1 to 1/4'=1'-0", but nothing is working.
I have created hatch in the same drawing but some hatch appears denser than other hatch yet they are all the same type of hatch, scale etc
I have changed the measurement variable from 0 - 1 but no luck
Any wave hatch pattern of know where I can download one. I have already been to [URL]........ but the files are only gifs.
