I have produced a 3D model drawing in Autocad 2006, then opened three layouts. When I plot the first layout in monochrome it actually previews in monochrome. However, when I plot the other two layouts with the same settings, from the same model, with the same layer assignments, they preview and plot in colour.
View 9 RepliesI just moved from ACAD 2008 to 2010. I for the life of me cannot figure out how to plot my drawings to a monochrome (black and white) drawing/PDF. Every plot comes out as by layer colored plots.
I have tried using Page Setup Manager and created a (or what I thought was a) monochrome .stb file. However, even with the mono.stb file selected the plots still plot in color.Is it possible to configure a .stb file to plot in only black?
I'm trying to plot a lot of drawing files that are in model space. We use to do this with batch plot. Is there still a way to do this in 2009.
View 7 Replies View Relatedmy DWG is set to monochrome.ctb. Everything prints ok except my 2 isometric 3D viewports which prints in its real color (visual styles are conceptual). Why don't they print also in monochrome? I saw a couple of discussions on that problem but the "hidden" and "hidden 3D" options in shade option isn't working...I want them to stay the same, just print in monochrome with screening! I read about some option called "hidden legacy" but can't find that anywhere.

My text looks great in the Plot Preview, but once actually hit 'Plot' the line weight of my text and dimensions appears super thick and heavy. They are also assigned to the lightest line weight in the layer property manager.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWe frequently publish drawings to PDF files. However, we recently noticed that when we publish to the PDF file in monochrome, all hatching publishes in color.
We need the entire PDF in black and white, but I can't figure out what settings I'm missing.
Using autocad 2013 and if I choose plot and do dwg to pdf and choose the page setup I want which is landscape,Plot area limits,center plot and fit to page with monochrome pen. then my drawing turns into a pdf just fine.
I am tring to print a drawing set of electrical drawings using the batch plot and I am getting them to plot to pdf as a all drawings in a single file and all drawings as individual files but I don't see a way to set it to monochrome when using the batch plot and all my draings are plotting with the layer colors.
How can I change the batch plot to use monochrome?
exported all my user files and plot files and profile into new version of autocad 2013
now when i print a document instead of getting a monochrome plot setting it gives a greyscale affect even though using the monochrome plot file
obviously checked the plot file to see if its set correctley
this has occured on more computers around the office which is making me think it might not be the autocad

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that all of my dimensions and text have changed colour to white, with my by layer colour as an outline of the text, the arrows and lines still look correct however. I put the dimensions on a seperate layer and this seemed to happen after hiding this layer then later unhiding it. I have looked through the properties to change the colour unsuccessfully.
On another note, the monochrome print option does not work when creating a plot - it will still create it in colour. What can I do to sort these issues? It is fustrating as all I really need to do with this drawing is to export the it for a report and it looks messy!
I have several objects on various layers in model space and they are exposed through a viewport in a paperspace layout. I also have a corporate CTB plot style.
Here is my problem: If i plot the objects from model space, they all plot with the correct lineweights as defined in our corporate CTB, but when i plot them from the paperspace layout, some but not all objects plot with a heavier lineweight than what is defined in the CTB.
I thought the CTB was supposed to override any settings applied to individual objects, but more importantly, why the different results, on the same objects, depending upon the space from which they're plotted?
I need to plot a drawing with a few plans, which are in 2D but also a 3D model of the intire installation and a few side views, which are side views of the 3D model.When I plot the drawing I am able to get the side views in black and white by taking the following steps:(i got these steps from this post: URL....
- set the visual style (in model space) to hidden or wireframe.
- in the layout you select a viewport that conntains a 3D visualisation and double click in that window to set the visual style to 2D wireframe and also set the viewports shade plot to hidden.
because the plotter is black and white only I see those side views in different shades of grey but the problem is that the difference in grey isn't clear enough (and yellow pipes are hardly visible) and I can't adjust these. When adjusting the .ctb it only affects the 2D views and not the 3D views.
It is possible to change the greyness by changing the color of the diffent pipes that are in the drawing but this is not a desired option by the client.how to alter the shades of grey in 3D visualisations so that not all pipelines look the same .I attached a file of what the plot preview looks like and another of what the actual plot looks like
We do most of our drawing in 2D – quaint I know, but that’s the way the office works. On occasion we’ll do something as a solid model to guide a client understand a complex roof or a clearance problem. We started a model for a project we are working on and ended up using it as building elevations.
The problem is with plotting. If I use our standard office CTB (which is set to print as black), I get color printouts no matter what I try. I have tried using an STB and changing all our layer colors to “7” in an attempt to make it print black, but I'm getting extremely undesirable - seemingly random - line weight results.
The client wants the next project done in 3D as well and I’d like to be able to have the elevations look right.
Is there a way to apply plot styles and line weights to a dwg file like 'dwf ePlot' does but keeping the results in .dwg format?

When I use the pdf plot drivers from AutoCAD or the export to pdf option the resulting pdf is not available to the other computer trying to access it through a shared folder.
When I plot to pdf with batch plot or export the drawing to pdf and save the file in the shared folder, the other computer can not open the pdf (file not found) or attach the file to an email (you do not have permission)
Why is this? All other files share and open fine. Only pdf files from batch plot, plot to dwg to pc3, or export to pdf. This is a pain and I still have to use another plot driver (cutepdf) to get a fully useable pdf for our office.
I'm using autocad 2000 and I have a problem printing & plotting. The print, plot preview only shows a section of the drawing. What settings do I need to change for the entire drawing to print for the paper size I need.

I've plotted the exterior of the area, borehole to borehole, using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012. The problem I'm facing is that when I start plotting the layers of the different soils, say from borehole 1 to borehole 2, it ends up protruding from the face of the distance from borehole 1 to borehole 2. I'm not sure of how to make sure the plot is on a fixed axis, like y-z axes, to ensure I have a reference point. How can I go about this?

In its a single viewport in MS and PS the current scale is 1:1 but if i change it to 1/4"-1',etc the plot preview appears wrong

i'm currently setting up a whole bunch of custom tool palettes for the company I work for and instead of the icons displaying in their actual colour (at the moment they're green, which doesn't show up very well on the light grey background), I'd rather they show in the plotstyle assigned to the individual dwg's.
call up the page setup manager (while in model space) and click modify, you can then check the radio button to "display plot styles" in the top-right corner. But when you have around 100 - 200 blocks to change, that process can be rather time consuming and cumbersome!
I have drawn a site plan in model space at 1to1 scale. I try to draw hidden lines to show demolition. In paper space the scale is set to 1"=50" to fit on paper. But all the hidden lines plot solid. I had changed LTSCALE, PSLTSCALE, to 1. This problem keeps happening in most every thing I draw.

Print > Batch Plot.
The problem is that I have to set plot configurations ( plot style table, plot area, paper size, etc) in each file before use Batch Plot.
Now I received 722 files with a wrong Plot Style Table. For this time I change the associated *.ctb file at Plot Style folder, but I will need to associate the right *.ctb to each drawing. It's also common to have to change other properties.
