I've never used batch plot before but I have a file that has multiple views set up in view manage in model space that I need to print. I've found instructions on how to do it from paper space but not model.
View 4 RepliesNever had this issue before. Just started a new big job and 8 files out of the 25 are also printing the model space when doing the Batch Plot. In the past it has only ever printed the Layout Page. And why some are printing the Model Space and the Layout is beyond me.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have several objects on various layers in model space and they are exposed through a viewport in a paperspace layout. I also have a corporate CTB plot style.
Here is my problem: If i plot the objects from model space, they all plot with the correct lineweights as defined in our corporate CTB, but when i plot them from the paperspace layout, some but not all objects plot with a heavier lineweight than what is defined in the CTB.
I thought the CTB was supposed to override any settings applied to individual objects, but more importantly, why the different results, on the same objects, depending upon the space from which they're plotted?
I have a 2D drawing in model space that is set on the front orthographic view. If you change it, using the viewcube, to "top", the drawing appears as a straight line because it is now looking at a top view of the 2D drawing. How can I change it so that the top view will display the whole drawing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOur customers insist that we provide our drawings in AutoCAD format and that the drawings have the views in paper space (layout) as well as the full scale view in model space. We are using an Inventor dwg to satisfy the requirement for AutoCAD format but I am not sure if we can get all of the views in model space and paper space without saving as an AutoCAD dwg and creating a viewport. I have used the "Insert in Model Space" command when you right click on a view, but this will only insert one view and then the command is no longer available. Is there a way to add all of the view to model space using this command?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just switched over to 2014 and i cannot for the life of me get my batch plot to plot PDF's to a single file! Instead, it's printing all 37 layouts separate. I tried switching between multi-file & single file in the publish options, but nothing!
i know that it took me a while to perfect my settings the last time i set up a new version, but i am struggling to work it out now.
I'm using project navigator and I want to use the intelligent title marks created by the Mode Space View drawing that is created when I use the Detail Boundary.
I have purchased a 5 hour block of support time on this and after 4 days they have not found a result for me and are looking to developers at this point.
My issue is this. I xref in the floor plan that I want to use to make some enlarged floor plan details out of. I have a custom high detail display configuration set for this view drawing. I use the detial boundary tool that adds the detail boundary and tag and then created my model space view with an intelligent titlemark that will then reflect the number and sheet when inserted into a sheet drawing.
The problem is trying to get this MSV to reflect what I see on the floor plan. As of now it just brings in a enlarged detail of the area but it's all the same color with no hatch detail.
I can change the result of what I get by selecting the “model space view” that I created and then going to properties and changing the “display controlled by” on the display tab of the properties of that object. If I change that to “Drawing default setting” then the result is set to whatever the drawing default settings are. It looks like the “default settings” for a 2D Section/Elevation object are “General” Display Representations.
how to get my custom “Bew_High Detail” display representation to be the default Display Representation of the “2D Section/Elevation” object then I think I would get my desired results.
on a couple of my lager project i have recently had issues with Autodesk Civil 3D 2012 Freezing in Model Space switching between Isometric views. the number of view changes varies each time but seams to freeze during regen of the model.
I have checked the performace tuner and updated my driver, see Attached Log.
We are in the process of changing our CAD Stations over to Windows 7 64 bit, but im not scheduled for a couple more months.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have several viewports rotated in paper space. When i set them to let say 1:100 scale go to paper space and then click into viewport it comes back to zoom extends of model space and i have to set it all up again and rotate it.
Second problem is that I've created wipeout in model space when i go to layout (paper space) ti looks just how i want it.
When I go to preview or plot it doesn't recognise any wipeouts?
I'm trying to import a drawing from a dwt file into a drawing as a new layout. This would be perfect if the model space objects associated with this dwt file would import as well.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm using 2004lt- I have current .dwg in modelspace and set up to plot in PS@ 3/23"-1'-0". I'd like to create a second set of PS tabs to plot portions at 1/4"-1'-0" on the same border when needed.
In its a single viewport in MS and PS the current scale is 1:1 but if i change it to 1/4"-1',etc the plot preview appears wrong

i'm currently setting up a whole bunch of custom tool palettes for the company I work for and instead of the icons displaying in their actual colour (at the moment they're green, which doesn't show up very well on the light grey background), I'd rather they show in the plotstyle assigned to the individual dwg's.
call up the page setup manager (while in model space) and click modify, you can then check the radio button to "display plot styles" in the top-right corner. But when you have around 100 - 200 blocks to change, that process can be rather time consuming and cumbersome!
I have drawn a site plan in model space at 1to1 scale. I try to draw hidden lines to show demolition. In paper space the scale is set to 1"=50" to fit on paper. But all the hidden lines plot solid. I had changed LTSCALE, PSLTSCALE, to 1. This problem keeps happening in most every thing I draw.

Also, why is it that every time I open batch plot it loads all the current layout tabs in the drawing (which I dont care about). How do i open batch plot and specify my sheet list and not have to "replace all sheets"/
We upgraded to AutoCAD 2013 earlier this year (from 2002 - archaic!), and I've run into an odd glitch when using the batch plot utility. It seems to work fine when I'm only making one copy of a set of drawings. When I need to print more than one copy, Bathc plot does one of two things: it either plots a single complete set instead of the quantity I have entered, or it prints the correct quantity of all but the last sheet I've requested. It doesn't seem to matter how many sheets in the set, or how many copies, and I have yet to find a way to predict which outcome I'm going to get.

I normally turn off the Batch Plot (Save As List) feature cause I never use it, however recently I turned it on and saved my choice.
How do I turn it off again? Is there a variable for this one?
Using autocad 2013 and if I choose plot and do dwg to pdf and choose the page setup I want which is landscape,Plot area limits,center plot and fit to page with monochrome pen. then my drawing turns into a pdf just fine.
I am tring to print a drawing set of electrical drawings using the batch plot and I am getting them to plot to pdf as a all drawings in a single file and all drawings as individual files but I don't see a way to set it to monochrome when using the batch plot and all my draings are plotting with the layer colors.
How can I change the batch plot to use monochrome?
My group and I are getting an infrequent but annoying problem with Model Documentation (MD) generated views in paperspace layout tabs. We all on autocad 2013, with sp1.1 installed on x64 machines.
We are seeing objects/ blocks showing in the MD views (viewbase created) in the layout that are no longer in model space. One common factor in this is that these objects seem to always be externally referenced (xref) files that have been either unloaded or completely detached (both cases purges preformed afterwards to wipe any remaining blocks made no difference). In this latest case the ghost objects show up twice (we needed 2 of the same xref) at what appears to be the correct old coordinates.
We have no work around for this and when this occurs we either have to revert to an older version from vault or create a new dwg, port all information over and recreate all views. The interesting thing about this problem is that if we revert to an older version from vault, the ghosts do not reappear/ reoccur at the same commands they appeared at previously.
I have one drawing per file at model tab. When I need to plot a multiple page file, I use:
Print > Batch Plot.
The problem is that I have to set plot configurations ( plot style table, plot area, paper size, etc) in each file before use Batch Plot.
Now I received 722 files with a wrong Plot Style Table. For this time I change the associated *.ctb file at Plot Style folder, but I will need to associate the right *.ctb to each drawing. It's also common to have to change other properties.
I want to plot model and layput in a dwf file in AutoCAD 2013. So is it possible to plot model and layout in a dwf file?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two objects that I would like to link together in model space. I realize this is easy to do using paper space but I am curious if this can be done in model space.
The two objects are wire connections but they are spaced far apart in my drawing and can be a pain trying to find thier locations all the time. if I could select or click the first connector and be able to pan or zoom to the appropriate connection by link or other means.
I am having a problem with all of my lines showing up on my prints when printing a 3D model. When I do a print preview, all of my lines show up but when I print to an actual sheet of paper or to PDF, the lines do not show up.

In AutoCAD 2013:
I have received a model in which the solids all appear "rendered" in model space. For example, if I extrude a circle or a rectangle, it immediately appears rendered. I am used to (and require) the solids as wire frames. Is there some setting that makes solids in this drawing appear rendered while mine (in a new drawing) appear as wire frames?
How to rectify my model space text issues for a set of drawings. There are approximately 12 drawings which all have the same problem. I have not seen this problem in other drawings.
The text in model space appears bold and rough. I have checked that all the text is set on the 0 Z plane. I have taken the following corrective actions and have not had success:
-Confirmed text is at Z=0
-Reset the UCS to world
-Changed the Z coordinate to arbitrary number and set it back to 0
-Checked that drawing & viewports are 2-D Wireframe
-Other Desperate Measures: Purged, Audited, Created in PS then move to MS
We had a CAD temp. that set up the drawings who is no longer with us, so I have clue what he did to the drawings when setting them up.
