View 6 Replieshave finished loading 2007 onto them.Now, back with 2006 we could set osnaps to the function keys (e.g. F2 to snap to END). I have been told that you can't do this with 2007.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using education version of Autocad 2012 and have only around 2 gig of RAM. Whilst drawing , mainly in 3d my osnaps do not seem to work properly. In a lot of cases it is only the "nearest" snap that works. Sometimes I get no snaps when I think there should be plus I get a bunch of tiny green crosses around where I want to snap. Could my lack of RAM be causing this ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo my co-worker says everytime he opens up a drawing, all of his osnaps are on. He turns them off and reopens the drawing, and they are back on. Before I go down stairs to see what the problem is.
View 9 Replies View RelatedURL....Constantly in 12 and 09 I have had issues snapping to endpoints since the changes to osnaps in ACad itself. It doesn't seem the ramifications were followed thru to ACA.
They seem to have addressed some issues in 12 but not all and often it dails completely.As osnaps is a basic functionality I think Adesk needs to get this working properly and as a fix for 10,11,12 and 13.
I'm facing a very weird problem with circle and interception osnaps. Maybe I'm wrong, but I've a space between the osnaps interception and the the circle line (pointer) when I'm trying to move it to the bottom or top line.
The problem doesn't occur with line. The osnap will go directly to the interception, but with the circle, I just can't understand... It's currently messing my drawing up, as I'm trying to move the circle tan point to another interception.
Here is the screenshots with only interception snap checked (working in milimeters if it does matter):
Well, seems it does occurs with all the snaps too, tested it with "nearest" too, and look how descaled it is:
I had some problems with Osnaps that thery are imprecise!
When draw lines in 2d and zoom in to draw things are more detail, then the osnaps show double, and even worse if I import a block and the block places in a different place than the osnap shows.
What would cause Osnaps to stop working on 2D section linework?
View 1 Replies View Relatedi am trying to reduce the sensitivity of osnaps by changing the aperture. However, no matter how big or small I make the setting, my snaps are still way too sensitive. I can move my crosshairs across a whole line that's 48 inches long and I can only snap to an endpoint or midpoint (I want to just snap somewhere along the line). I have tuned on the option that shows the aperture, and it's definitely changing astetically, however the behavior of osnaps have not changed
View 2 Replies View RelatedBest practices for setting up systems in a lab environment. We have a lab enviroment of about 200 systems that access AutoCad, Inventor, Mechanical and others.
We need to have a customized interface come up when Autocad is opened by students.I have read that you can do this with profiles and workspaces and also with loading a acad.lsp file.
In the past we have just copied the Windows admin profile used to customize AutoCad to the default profile. In AutoCad 2013 that does not seem to grab everything. It doesn't seem to be the best way to do what we need.
We will also be moving to Windows 7 soon which will also cause an issue.I want to find the best way to do this with out having to deal with the Windows profile.
Is it possible to get your Gap Tolerance setting to stick. Mine keeps reverting to 10 by default!?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSometimes, I get drawings in which the Z co-ordinates of some objects are not zero. In such a case, fillets dont appear properly. I dont know why these objects get values for z co ordinate.
Is there any method to set the z co ordinate of all objects in a drawing to zero?
I'm using AutoCAD 2012 LT. I'm drawing an isometric object at 30 degree and -30 (330) degree angles. How do I set my line to use this angle and switch between these angles? The current rotate function is killing me.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using VB.Net in Visual Studio version 2010 with AutoCad 2010. I haven't had a problem with this before, but now it seems that the program ignores break points that I set in the code when I'm trying to debug. I just want to pause the code and add a "watch" to a variable.
View 7 Replies View RelatedOur company just installed Civil 3D for the first time. I am now setting it up with all required standard templates, points, linetypes, survey databases, assemblies, surface properties, profile and cross section properties. All to make it more user friendly for our company. How to do all this in a efficient manner, either files to load, or a document outlining steps to follow, etc.
View 7 Replies View RelatedA bit of a strange one. I have a userform for people to configure a new drawing. One of the options they have is to select the Active Standard from a choice of the two company standards.
The template drawing contains both of the standards as does the styles library but the company ISO standard is the default. If the user selects the company ANSI standard the active standard appears correct in document settings but it produces dimensions like its still stuck on the ISO default as the template is saved. Looking in the styles library i can see the standard says ANSI but the Available Styles and Object defaults read as if they are the ISO standard.
First question, am i setting the active standard correctly?
Dim odoc2 As Inventor.DrawingDocument
Set odoc2 = ThisApplication.ActiveDocument
'Get reference to active standard object
Dim oActive As DrawingStandardStyle
Set oActive = odoc2.StylesManager.ActiveStandardStyle
oActive.Name = ComboBox1.Value
I am rebuilding the entire back porch.
I would like to set the scale so i can visually see where my joists , hangers , tiers, etc go.
How do i set an accurate scale for a drawing such as this?
Setting Scale .porch.dwg
THIS DRAFT is most certainly NOT TO SCALE.
As usual, i am NOT sure i am asking the right question.
I am trying to use the smallest of the squares in GRID to equal "X" amount of inches so the entire drawing will fit. I do NOT need to use grid if it there is an easier way. No contractor...I am the only one using this and its just to make my initial materials list and get a picture of how things will go....
I am looking for an explanation on CHAMFEREDGE Distance1 and Distance 2 Setting with respect to UCS or VIEW. I usually do it by trial and error but an explanation as to where Distance 1 and 2 are applied will be great.

View 9 Replies View Relatedhow to set up a layout to show a t-block for plotting purposes, as well as setting up your view ports on a drawing? I have used the layout wizard before, but when it comes to selecting a tblock with the wizard, nothing shows up.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen defining a block it is possible to choose wether the block can be exploded or not. Is there a way of undoing this. I can edit the block in full version with refedit but in LT there is no way of editing this block. I can see advantages of this setting but I imagine someone accidentilly unpicking this box and creating unexplodable blocks without noticing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI made an image, but we had no idea what pc was going to be the NLM server so I didn't fill in the serverfield. Then I deployed the image to 10 pc's. I got my .lic file, set up a server. It loaded the .lic file, saw I have 10 seats so YAY.
So, when I start AutoCAD 2013 for the first time there is no "Where is your server?". Only registering or activation code.
I verified my image and it was alright (Network license checked > empty serverfield) Will I have to reinstall the images or am I missing something why he's not asking for a server?
I'm working for a new company and have not used AutoCad in some time. We want to be able to "drop in" existing drawings through the use of customized drop drop menus. Is there a tutorial somewhere that shows how to customize the drop down menus and link them to files?
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter setting a layout for printing current,
LayoutManager.Current.CurrentLayout = LayoutName

Is there something that could prevent this from happening?
i use conceptual in my viewports to give a rough 3D of what i am drawing. some settings have changed that i am not familiar with i would like to restore them to the original settings. the following pics show the difference. Im Not talking about the back ground.
The pic with the black backgroud is not how i like the settings to be. they seem too bright and its kind of glowing.New Settings.jpg...The pic with the white background is what im looking for. the items seem to be a flatter finish to them. If all this makes sense how do i change it back?
Is there a way to print out the exact scale just like using manual printing or I just can use
// a 1 inch: 2 units scaleacPlSetVdr.SetStdScale(acPlSet, 0.5);// a 2 inches: 1 unit scaleacPlSetVdr.SetStdScale(acPlSet, 2);
By the way, setting for example (acPlSetVdr.SetStdScale(acPlSet, 2.04);
I get eInvalidInput error.

View 3 Replies View Relatedsetting up a CAD block library.I have been collecting blocks of furniture and plants for CAD projects into a single dwg file - my library. I then copy & paste the blocks as needed into my project file. Usually I have to BEDIT them to change layer & then scale to size. I have tried adding blocks to the Tool Palette with no success.
View 5 Replies View RelatedCurrently in AutoCAD 2008, evertime I browse my folders and dbl click a dwg - AutoCAD opens that drawing in a new window. If I click on three drawings, AutoCAD has three different AutoCAD programs running.
If I'm inside AutoCAD and choose File, Open, etc... then the new drawing opens in the same AutoCAD program. I'd like for that behavior to work if I have AutoCAD already open and I browse my server thru explorer and dbl click a dwg on the server.
Is there a setting that will allow that?
Is there a setting that you can change in AutoCAD that will allow you to change all colors in a x-ref file, even if the "By Layer" color has been changed in the x-ref?
