AutoCAD LT :: Isometric Line Setting
Mar 6, 2013
I'm using AutoCAD 2012 LT. I'm drawing an isometric object at 30 degree and -30 (330) degree angles. How do I set my line to use this angle and switch between these angles? The current rotate function is killing me.

I am working on 3d model of interior and I have two problems. I am trying to made similar model as it is on the first image.
After setting all render properties and turning on sky and illuminations my view on object switch from isometric to perspective view.
Is there any way to change it to isometric view so the point of view do not change position at the time of changing, because I find out the way to return it to isometric but then the point of view that was placed inside of room is moved outside and I can't render object that was inside.
Also I can't set white background as it is on the first image. Second image is my attempt that is made inside of the room.

I will include an attachment, but essentially we are wanting to re-create images like this (with the isometric lines) for our customers. Currently we are using AGi32 for this process, but is not very friendly with importing autocad files.
Should I be looking elsewhere in the Autodesk Suites instead of 3ds Max Design? These attachments are all from AGi32, and we are looking to move away from them.

I'm doing some building drawings for Uni using AutoCAD 2010 and what is the best way (and process) to set line weights and types (dash, dot) for printing. What I’m currently doing doesn’t seem to be working and seems a bit inefficient.
The way I am doing it at the moment is that I have put all the various drawing elements on different layers with varying colours. I am then going through each layer in the layers dialog box and setting the line weight and line type as required. When in paper space or plotted the lines all come out solid/continuous and with same weight. (Note: I have used LTSCALE so that the dashes are viewable in model space). So here are the questions: Does the line weight and line type you set in the layer properties equal what should be printed? At the moment it does not for me. It is best to create all your layers and individually edit each layer for line weight and type, or is there a quicker way to assign line properties? I think I read that you could assign different properties to colours, but not sure what this means.

My part unit length has been setup as millimeter(mm).Once I created a line within 2d sketch by VBA script, the result of length always become to 10 times of value. For example, the two points of line is (0,0) and (0,4). But the result of length measured is 40.
My problem is how to create a line with part document setting?

We are upgrading from LDD2008 to Civil3D 2013. I'm working on a Civil3D template
I'm setting up line and curve label style. Oringally we were going to have one set of line label style. Ex. Bearing Above or Bearing Below. After seeing that the line labels does not look at the current text style we decided to make copies of the original label styles based on Text Styles. So now I have Bearing Above60, Bearing Above100, etc. I named them based on the Leroy styles and sizes.
After editing each one and changing the Text Style each one looks at, it is not using the Texting Style i assign it. I'm doing this in the General Tab and Text Style for each label style.
i guess I should have tested before creating all them to find out it didn't work.Does it need to be done somewhere else or is do I have to do something with the overall label style overrides?

Where is the setting for the sample line label background mask? I have some sample lines that will be plotted on top of an aerial photo, and the black box background looks terrible. I'd like to turn it off. I found the contour label background fine and I switched those to False without much of a problem, but I can't seem to locate the ones for the sample lines.

Autodesk Inventor 2010 .idw Drawing Detail - Where is the default setting for "Full Dimension Line" so that I can set it to always be on when placing a linear diametric dimension? I would prefer to turn it off on the few occasions when dimensioning a diameter on a Detail View that does not include the center line rather than each and every diameter on a section view. This is necessary because a diameter symbol does not show up in the diameter dimension unless the full distance line it is selected, which is not always possible. I am aware of the Application Option setting that allows Linear Diametric as a preference, which becomes the default for all dimensions, and it is user specific rather than document specific.

I notice that when I hit shift to create a straight line, it seems to be straight in about 1° increments.
Is there anywhere that I can specify the increment angle? Mostly, I make 90° straight lines, so I'd like to up this increment so that there is a more noticeable space in between the increments.

Best practices for setting up systems in a lab environment. We have a lab enviroment of about 200 systems that access AutoCad, Inventor, Mechanical and others.
We need to have a customized interface come up when Autocad is opened by students.I have read that you can do this with profiles and workspaces and also with loading a acad.lsp file.
In the past we have just copied the Windows admin profile used to customize AutoCad to the default profile. In AutoCad 2013 that does not seem to grab everything. It doesn't seem to be the best way to do what we need.
We will also be moving to Windows 7 soon which will also cause an issue.I want to find the best way to do this with out having to deal with the Windows profile.

When I send a file to Ps from Lr, edit that file then save it, Lr puts that file at the end of the line instead of next to the file I was working on. When you have 600 photos in a down loud, it is a pain to scroll through the photo's to find your place again.
Is there a setting to force the saved file back in line next to the file that was edited in Ps?

I'm currently taking an CAD program and I'm having trouble drawing a few objects in isometric perspective. These objects must unfortunately be drawn in 2D. I've drawn the orthographic perspectives for each object based on the dimensioning given however I'm unsure how to proceed on certain portions of the drawing. This is all homework and I doubt using any customization is allowed.
The first image is a top view of a fixture. I'm having trouble with the central portion which I draw by first constructing the vertical arm then using the array command.
Is there some way to create an array of this object that respects the isoplane that I drew my isocircles in?
If not, I'm able to look at the original using the VPOINT from the 1,-1,1 point and get the perspective that I want. Is there a way to use the UCS and trace over the orthographic perspective then take that traced image back to the world X-Y plane? I've tried this before but once I get it back it simply looks like the orthographic perspective.
The following drawing I'm simply having trouble drawing one particular curve which the green arrow points to. The drawing is of two perpendicular intersecting cylinders one having a slightly smaller radius then the other and the curve in question represents the edge formed by the intersection. The research I've done indicates that it's an ellipse however I'm unsure how to draw it correctly and the one I put in is simply an estimate. How can I construct the correct curve? Even if I could change viewpoints I'm not sure I could find a way to trace this one.
How to draw 2D isometric images from orthographic projections in AutoCAD as it seems many of the sites I find are either trivial or focus on drawing by hand.

Im new to CADTutor, and fairly new to AutoCAD. I used to use Plant 3D which has the ability to create PCF's and Isometric drawings, but Im now using MEP. for the most part, a better solution for our company, but now we cant create isomtric shop drawings. AutoCAD now has Isometric WS CLoud. how we can create a PCF file from an AutoCAD MEP 2013 drawing? its seems rediculous that it cant?
it seems like Isometric WS is real loser if you can only use with Plant 3D

I recently started drawing in cad, and i have a couple problems. At time now i am trying to learn more of isometric drawing and i have couple questions about drawing a particular figure:
21.jpg
So in there i don't know how to draw that "thing" witch i highlighted in red. I don't know at witch angle i should draw it's center(center length should be 50 cm). If I would know that, i could easily draw a isocircle above. So how do i find this "right" angle?
Second question would be about isofillets - i read here in forums that i should do them in isocircles, and i did that and i got good results - it looks very good, but the problem is, that in this drawing, it shows that those isocircles should have a defined radius - R6, R16 and etc, but if i do round corners with isocircles, i dont get that result(in R16 case radius is even way too big). So maybe there is a way to do them "right" and have them defined? I attached that drawing .
