AutoCad 2D :: Get Fonts Into 2012?
Sep 20, 2012I have a drawing that only show 'Standard' as font in Style box. How do I see the rest of the fonts I have??
Also, how do I get linetypes like 'Fence' into the drawing?

Oct 21, 2013never knew there has a font folder in the user profile for Gimp until I wiped my user profile and moved all patterns, gradients, brushes, etc I have been putting in the program folder to the user profile folder because I read on here that it is better to keep all that stuff in the user profile folder of Gimp... my question is, what is the difference between installing your fonts into the system and placing them into the fonts folder in Gimp (besides all programs being able to use them)?? I've been installing all my fonts into the system I wanna use in Gimp... is it better to use the font folder in the Gimp user profile or to install them into the system?

I think you should read the original mail again. Hint: "system fonts not shown" is not the problem, but the desired outcome.I have accidentally read a "not" into the original mail, thus it became "to get Gimp to *not* only show fonts from the user/fonts file"
The configuration to check is the fonconfig settings then, for example the the global, system-wide fonts.conf file. It may contain references to the global font directories, for example /usr/share/fonts/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts. URL....
If you comment those out, then you can (and have to) add all font directories in GIMP's settings, for example.

Oct 9, 2012Once I installed windows 7, while I WAS using PSE 9, I had the tiny font problem. I stopped using PSE for 2 years. I just installed PSE 11. Though better, the Font is still way smaller than I would like. Maybe it's just tougher for seniors? Can they not make the font adjustable? I was told there is no way to increase the size of the font?

May 6, 2013It used to be that I very rarely used fonts within CS5 but recently I have. I realized that all of the fonts supposedly included with CS5 are not available via my drop down menu.
I then found these fonts in Windows/fonts so I copied all of those fonts into Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts. These unavailble fonts are now listed in that folder but are still not available via the dropdown menu in PS CS5.
I've recently read that the fonts don't really even NEED to be in the Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts folder and that PS should actually make all of the fonts in Windows/Fonts available via the dropdown menu. Yes, I have restarted PS after copying the files and also tried rebooting my PC after copying the files. The fonts are still not available via the drop down text menu within PS even though all of them are now in both locations.

Feb 17, 2013I want to cut some TTF font text in my CNC. But my CAM software will only import polylines. I tried converting the text to polyline using the txtexp ("TEXT EXPLODE") command in AutoCAD. But the resultant geometry(polyline) has lot of extra lines which I need to manually edit before importing to my CAM software.

However, when I open a drawing the SXH are loaded and displayed correctly. As soon as I click on or edit any of that text, it changes to simplex and will not display / print correctly.

Apr 7, 2009We have been using Comic Sans MS true font in AutoCAD since version 2000 all the way to 2009 LT without any font problems when generating drawings in PDF format (standard DWG to PDF. pc3 plot). Now with AutoCAD 2010 LT some symbols no longer work (diameter for one). I can take the same dwg file to AutoCAD 2009 LT and not have the problem. I converted the text to ISOCPEUR true font and the symbols work. It seems to be related to the COMIC SANS MS font. I hate to think that our library of company standard details will
all need to be converted to another font type, plus any older drawings as needed.
The attached file is what I see when opening the TEXT TEST.PDF plot file.
A row of dots appears in the lines of text that contain the missing symbol. I am using Adobe Reader 9 to view the pdf file.
AutoCAD Inventor :: Importing Fonts
Dec 9, 2013Having a specific font style (Handel Gothic) which is used for our company logo i find that this does not seem to be supported by Inventor.
I have attempted to import .dwg drawings into inventor with the logo but this does not work.
Another method i have tried is to draw the characters in sketch mode and then attempt to solid hatch them again with little success.,there does seem to be no facility for hathing in sketch mode!
This logo font is used on our drawing border sheets and also nameplates so our MD is keen to keep the present format.

I need to make ONE line in the title box a different font; I'm using a font called CHILLER. When I go to DIMSTYLE and change from Arial to Chiller, the whole drawing changes to CHILLER.
I just want the one line to change, so I have two fonts in the same drawing.

Nov 18, 2013We have recently started having issues with our sets coming back from the printers. We are using ACA 2013. We us the "Arial" font for all of our noting.
When we need a check set printed we typically send a PDF of the set to our printer for reproduction. Lately I have been using the "export > to pdf" function under the drop down. The problem is, when we view the PDF in our office, it is perfect but when we ship it off to the printer he see's missing letters and open boxes in some areas instead of letters.
I am assuming that this is because the font is being substituted with something else. When I recreate the PDF using the plot command and use the Adobe PDF printer I can uncheck the "Rely on system fonts only, do not use document fonts". This seems to remedy the problem and the printer is able to print and view the PDF just fine.
So, is it possible to set the default settings of whatever the "export to pdf" uses to convert the dwg into a pdf so that is will embed the fonts. There is not an option for that under the Export to DWF/PDF options.
