im currently using Autocad 2013 and it is running painfully slow when drawing lines and copying lines and objects... my experience on autocad is very minimal and how to speed things up a bit. also icons appear next to lines when i join 2 or more line, one for each join, but i suspect they may also be causing my drawing to lag.

I'm trying to copy these lines from the other drawing into the map-drawing, but when I'm trying drag and drop, the mouse doesn't even go to the other drawing. I also made a block of the lines and tried to insert it, but it doesn't work either.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe used Furix BetterWMF 2013 to copy our drawings from AutoCAD 2013 to Word 2007. Never had a problem till we upgraded to 2013 for both products. Now when we paste the drawing into Word (for our product manuals) any Ohm symbols turn into Question marks.
I'm assuming the problem is not AutoCAD, as it displays correctly there.
I'm wanting to copy some elements from one drawing to a different .dwg file to make sure it's identical. I can't just simply use the COPY command. At least it didn't work for me.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIf there's a conflict between the UI for teh AutoCAD drawing window and Parallels? There seems to be a consistent change in mouse behavior when the mouse moves to the AutoCAD drawing window when running AutoCAD ('11, '12, '13, '14) under Parallels (5, 6, & 7).
Since Parallels is now officially supported.
3 MB file with several Xrefs takes about 20 mintues to open. I've purged, recoverd, and audited the working drawing and all the overlayed Xrefs, with no success. When I open in AutoCad Version 2007, it opens quickly (one minute)

Our company purchased two brand new computers and upgraded to Map 3d 2011 and it has resulted in major time lag and running slow issues. We use a 15mb city map as are main drawing file and in AutoCad Map 2004 it runs smoothly. After the upgrade thing are running very poorly. Selecting and deleting files that could be done in seconds in 2004 now can takes a 1/2 hour. The program also seems to get stuck periodical on a selected item , requiring restart. We have upgraded all the drivers and I have tried several different display drivers. I have saved the map as a 2011 file and I have repaired it. I have tried upgrading to Map 2012 but the problems persist.
I am trying to work out a plan in Autocad and it goes so slowly. The slowest of all actions I do is always drawing a simple line. No other program is running on my laptop.

View 9 Replies View RelatedThis has been occuring since installing 2013 and it's not just on my computer, our other drafter has the same issue. Once it happens on one drawing it effects all open drawings and the only thing I have been able to do to get rid of it is to close out all drawings and restart AutoCAD. Attached is a screen shot since its' hard to describe.

However, as i add more rules it is beginning to slow down (increase rule processing time). Should I suggest upgrading to 64-bit and increasing RAM?..could be costly with no increase in performance.

I use auto cad for work and the other day I was drawing and it accidental got switched to 3d view and I noticed that all of my lines are in 3d it only happens in the company template because if i make a new drawing the lines are flat. i have tried flatten but when i start drawing again the same thing happens.

The employee is acting through screenshots. All worked well using 2009 Revit or Architecture on XP machines. However, we added new faster Windows 7 machines with 2012 products. The PCs are all 64 bit with 16g RAM and a 22mb internet connection.

Everything enters but when I enter the last command of the bearing and hit enter it stays in the red boxed outline and does nothing. Upgraded to 2014 and trying to get things set for drawing property boundaries. Tried setting the units to surveyors mode and such but nothing works.

CPU Upgrade to 2 x 2.66GHz Quad Core
RAM Upgrade to 14GB
GFX Upgrade to ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024mb VRAM
Everything seems fine. My temperatures are normal and things are seemingly speedy.My problem is that Photoshop CS6 seems to run a little slow. I'm only working on web files (72dpi) that are yes, sometimes quite long in length (5000px high), but that has never been an issue.
Some problems I've noticed:When I click to edit text, it may take 2 seconds before I can start editing itWhen I scroll upwards it chugs a littleIf I grab an object/shape and drag it around too quick, it might lag a little
Same system... CS6 runs perfectly fine, close it, then load CC, not even workable. Close CC and reload CS6 and it runs fine...
Is CC really that much more hardware dependent? I feel like the issue is software related and has nothing to do with my machine... My Machine isn't some kind of powerhouse, but it does have 8gb of ram, and again, no real issues with CS6...
I have compiled a gif animation in ImageReady, but even with the delay set as 0sec, the output runs slow. When I preview the animation in the program, it runs fast, but as soon as I saved it, it becomes slow again.

We're using AutoCAD 2013 via a Citrix XenApp server. We have a strange issue where the pointer continues to drift for a few seconds when rapidly drawing lines. This makes it very hard to draw with any speed because we have to keep waiting for the pointer to stop moving.
We've already followed the guidelines here, but they made no noticeable difference. The XenApp server has plenty of spare CPU and RAM. How we can stop this happening?
I installed Photoshop Extended CS4 64bit. I opened a 24mb PSD file, there is some text with some outer glow when I move it I get redraw. CS4 just feels sluggish compared to CS3. My system is not that bad, e6600, 4GB, 8800GTS 640, Vista Home Premium x64.
I have updated to the latest drivers for my GPU. I am considering just a reformat and install.
When I save any work I have completed to my desktop or to a server I get a response that my Illsutrator is not responding. Eventually it saves the document but it takes a very long time to do so.I have cleared my cache and mediabrowser.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAutocad 2013 Data Extraction works if I do not include attached xrefs and set it to "Select objects in current drawing". When I check "Extract objects from xrefs"; and go to next it processes for a bit then stays on page 2 of 8 on the Define Data Source page. Also have the same error if I choose " Drawings/Sheet set" with or without the xref objects included.
