Jan 13, 2012I have a drawing that has erp data (somehow) attached to plain text (acadText). I have been unable to determine where this data is embedded or 'hidden" in the drawing - The attached drawing has three text entities, each with erp data attached.
Most of my VBA programming is in Inventor and my AutoCAD coding is not that strong. I have tried listing the text, browsed the drawing database (vLisp editor), tried the data extraction tool and run (entget (car (entsel))) and so far have been unable to find the embedded data.
I am trying to access the embedded data because the erp system updates the visible text with the BOM item number when the BOM is changed in the erp screen (which is very time consuming and a big pain), however this fails when our drafting guys take a shortcut and change the number manually. With multiple balloons, we cannot tell which one(s) have been changed manually. I am hoping to code a macro that displays the embedded data which can be compared to the visible text value.

I want to run a script to reconcile new layers in the sheet drawings after having cleaned the xref drawings, and the script bombs if there are no new layers present in the parent drawing.
If I could determine what triggers the layereval/layernotify sequence (tblsearch?) I could include an if or while lisp routine that would invoke the layer command and then reconcile the new layers.

Nov 12, 2013I have a drawing that has a filesize of 10meg even when there are no entities in the drawing.There are about 1000 lietypes in the drawing but it wont let me purge them out.These are what are most likely causing the bloat.Some things I have tried without success...
Erase all then purge 3x and audit then purge 3x then audit. Qselect shows no entities in drawing.Save back to acad 2007 and repeat above

I can double click my viewport and able to use my drawing commands as normal. what has happened how come i cant see my drawing in model space, like it is hidden, i have tried regen, redraw etc.

Jan 29, 2013For printing or mailing purpose, i used to re-open big .psb layer files (2-6GB) in cs5 and cs6 with keybombo "alt" and "shift" while double clicking the document in the finder window (10.6 + 10.7.5), in order to save time.
This is not possible anymore, everytime i open a document this way its white and empty in photoshop.

Oct 31, 2013I'm a web developer currently slicing an illustrator file for web graphics. Some of the icons and images have shadows, lights, etc, and it's impossible to simply see by a naked eye which pixels contains some shade or nearly transparent color and which doesn't.
It would be extremely useful if I could somehow easily differentiate between empty and non-empty pixels, so I wouldn't miss any when slicing.

Feb 19, 2008I have an image with 8 layers and i want to draw lines. So I make a new layer. While this layer is selected, i select the line tool and draw a line. Then, as I want to move this line, I select the move tool and try to move it. But instead of moving the line I just drew, photoshop automatically switches to my background layer (although i'm not sure it's defined as "background layer") and moves the entire content of the layer.
To see what actually happened, i hid each layer in the layer palette... And still... here was my line. (with all layers hidden, is it POSSIBLE to have anything?)
I tried to select my line and then, using the move tool, move it, but the message "could not move the selection because the selected area is empty"...

Mar 8, 2012for some reason when i select a layer and draw a line (lets go with blue) it draws a white line, though in layer manager it says i'm drawing a blue line. when you click, then rt click the line, go to properties it says the line is drawn "by block" once i switch it to "by layer" the proper colors come up. I am altering a drawing so its easier for me to draw in a different color to see what i've done and what was already there.

It seems like this particular drawing has issues not seen elsewhere.(besides the fact it was badly drawn) After some time playing with all the settings. We turned on the zero layer and then all the nodes were available as usual.
i've been using AutoCad for 20 years and never seen this. Is this some kind of new feature?Can you control the snaps with a layer? WHY?

Normally i use it for doing for producing panel wiring drawings, the way i normally do this is have a drawing on layer 1 then copy paste for additional layers, though this works ok, when i need to change eg date / site ref i have to change it on every page. I know by doing the basics on the model this then transfers to the other layouts. Plots set up for A4 landscape, on model / layer scale set to 1:1 I do drawing on model then when choose new layer the drawing scales down even though set 1:1 paper size same ect.
