MY workflow:I am opening up DXF files created by me with RASPLOT 2.5 and RASPLOT 3.0 (an Army Corp of Engineers Hyrdraulic model extraction program) I bring the DXFs into AutoCAD for better cleanup of the 2D graph it creates of flood profiles.
OBSERVATIONS:Others in my office have opened the same engineering models in RASPLOT and been able to bring DXFs into AutoCAD 2011/2012 in with no problem. It had worked for me in the past, but I can't recall what happened to all of a sudden make it not work, EVER. My co-workers can work with the RASPLOT DXFs in Windows XP and Windows 7.
ATTEMPTED SOLUTIONS:-I upgraded my RASPLOT version first from 2.5 to 3.0, then upgraded my AutoCAD2011 to 2012. No change.
-If I create the DXF on my computer, then open it remotely from another computer's AutoCAD, I still get the same error message. (My only solution has been to create my DXF by remotely logging into another computer with RASPLOT then it will open in my computer's AutoCAD.)
- I tried changing the .dxf file path to .dwg but that doesn't work.

Aug 10, 2009I received the drawings with comments from consultant.The cad drawings are infected with stamps.I was ordered to use such drawing to update the routing of the services.When I use DXFOUT to change it to the DXF version 2000.I can't open it the dxf drawing.the error like below when i tried to open the dxf:

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Using Expression Gives Invalid Input?
Jan 15, 2013I'm trying to use an expression for text height and everytime I enter the name of the expression I get "Invalid Input". Is there a trick to doing this?
I even changed a style that "HAD" allowed me to use an expression, to a number then tried to reenter the same expression name that was there and get "Invalid Input".

Jun 9, 2011I get the above error message when i try to open a DXF file which was exported from LSS. The survey data from TPS seems to export fine, but the GPS data won't open.
I've read the previous posts on this error messages, but most seem to be relevant to autocad 2007. However tried the remedy suggested (through MS word) but that didn't work.

Aug 20, 2013I am receiving an invalid input message when trying to create a curve between two lines. My drawing units are set to architectural. The problem is summarized as follows:
1- In Lines/Curves menu, select curve between two lines.
2-Select first tangent
3- Select second tangent
4-Select radius option
5- Enter 8'6"
6- After entering the radius I receive an invalid input message.
7- But if I enter the radius as 102 (102 inches) the curve is created without any problem.

Oct 10, 2010We are receving error on our VBA program under AutoCAD2011 "Invalid argument Tag in setting TagString" when writing tag string.Our lagazy program used to store some data on a hidden layer as tag string. Now the new VBA is not accepting those lines.Is it a bug or there is any workaround for this.
It was working without any trouble for AutoCAD 2005-2010 versions.Example -

GIMP :: Error / Input Map Should Be Same Size As Input Texture Image
Mar 15, 2013I am UNABLE to follow a tutorial on how to make a repeatable pattern using 'texture transfer' on some fire I want to make into a pattern!!! every time I select the area I want to use and the 'input map' and paste as new image and I tell Resynthesizer to use that image it ALWAYS errors out as "The Input Map Should Be The Same Size As The Input Texture Image" according to the tutorial another person gave me on this forum he said NOTHING about being the same size!!! in fact, his selection was SMALLER than the actual image that he was using Resynthesizer on!!!

I am an extreme beginner at this, and I am trying out a simple program that opens up Inventor, and when you click a button, it will open up the filename listed in the subroutine. I have attached a .jpg of my code. The program will open Inventor, and open the file, but as soon as the file is finished loading and displays on the screen, it throws the error you see in the .jpg.

Mar 4, 2013I have a baseplan I was sent for senior design project and it was previously created in an earlier version of autocad. However Im not sure which version it was created in. There are almost 3000 points and contours but I can not use these points to create a surface. I am ultimately trying to create a surface and then a profile for a road to design vertical curves throughout.
I cut out a few points and copied them into a new drawing due to the size of the actual file

when trying to run AutoCad 2010. It had been working fine previously, but now it gives this error and won't allow me to use it. I am also unable to uninstall or reinstall the program without getting the same error.
I have confirmed that the profile is not set to roaming. I have also tried deleting the registry entries as recomended here:

Apr 29, 2013Just installed 2014 and have a few issues right away. I checked out the New Features webpage and attempted to change the Viewport Layout using the new Menu dropdown. When I click on any other layout other than the default the whole UI begins to flicker and Max completely locks up and I have to end the process to close it.
Now when I load Max I get an error box that says: "Invalid flyout button ID!" After clicking OK on 6 identical successive Error boxes they are all gone and Max is OK.
I uninstalled my display drivers and installed the latest Max Performance driver 311.50 for my Quadro 4000.
Update: I removed a custom toolbar that I created thinking it might be throwing the error and then relaunched Max. Same error. Then I reinstalled Max using the Repair/Reinstall feature instead of completely uninstalling and reinstalling. When I open Max I still get the "Invalid flyout..." error. FYI, upon my initial install and first opening of Max it opened normally. It was only after I had the switching workspace event that this error stated. The Reinstall feature did not solve it.

Error: Invalid use of Maya object "persp"..it will happen for every camera in the scene until I close and re-open the scene! I do not know what causes it but it seems like whenever I delete a render layer it starts happening and it is driving me positively bonkers!

then i show a palette set with my user control in the same function. everything is fine so far.
but after showing paletteset i try to get a string from the user by editor.getstring(...) in the same function but statement continues as i never request it. when i check the PromptResult status it is equal to cancel.

i tried to lock the document but it doesnt work either. when i comment out "showpalette(true)" it works correctly. i realized that if my document window s state is not WindowState.Maximized then my code works just fine but if it is WindowState.Maximized it does not work.

Sep 6, 2013In the middle of a photoshop session the application spontaneously quit (when changing colour palette). This is a totally legal copy of CS2, recently successfully transferred to a new-ish Mac running Snow Leopard. When I tried to restart P'shop it came up with an error message "Your Adobe Photoshop user name, organisation, or serial number is missing or invalid. The application cannot continue and must now exit."Subsequent attempts to launch p'shop came up with a supposedly humorous "Space Monkey" splash screen.

Mar 29, 2013In a drawing with multiple dimstyles, my dimscale always goes back to (1) when switching from one dimstyle to another. Even after I set the dimscale for "dimstyle 1" and I then set and use "dimstyle 2", when I go back to "dimstyle 1" I have to set the dimscale again.
How do I set it to where I can set the dimscale once for each dimstyle. All dimstyles have the same dimscale.

The program prompts for the selection of a dimension entity and also for the new dimscale. The dimscale property of the dimension entity is set to the new dimscale. The problem is that the entity is not updated on the screen, even after calling the entity draw method. In VBA there was an Update method, but I can find anything like that in the .NET dimension entity.

Jun 18, 2013In my acaddoc.lsp I have it load an autoload.lsp file that contains many lisp routines (attached). I am getting the "extra right paren on input" error. It appears to error after the third line in the autoload file "san18"....I removed everything after the third line and no error, I put them back and it errors and only loads first three?
I am using Civil 3D 2014 and I have added all neccesary paths to the trusted locations.

AutoCad 2D :: Annotation Menu Also Change DIMSCALE
Jan 24, 2013I have written the following code to have the DIMSCALE on our drawings to update according to our Annotation Scale selected from the menu on the bottom right. Right now its set up though a menu along the top.

I am hoping there is a way I can have this code run when I select my annotation scale through the menu at the bottom.
Is there a way of simply adding thiscode to the CANNOSCALE command to make it do that? Or is it done another way.
We also need this to work with LT, to we are limited for options.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3 :: Error Message - File Contains Invalid Objects?
Jan 23, 2010I am using Corel Graphic Suite X3. I created one file of 330 MB. It contains text and images....
But now when i am opening this file it say "File contains Invalid Object" "IGNORE:ABORT:RETRY"..I chose every option but nothing seems to happen and corel draw gets hanged..I tried importing it..also i tried re installing it but nothing seem to work...
this file is very imp and i have to open it...Wht to do? Also any future precautions, if any?

AutoCAD 2010 :: Set Model Space Dimscale In Paperspace?

I have my lpaperspace dimscale set at 1
In the model space my picture is drawn to scale, so its like 12 feet tall.
when i put the viewport in and get the picture positioned in the viewport, when i dimension the model in the viewport my dims are set according to the paperspace dimscale.
is there a way i set the dimscale in the viewport at a different dimsale then the dimscale set in the paperspace without having to set the dimscale in the model space?
Photoshop :: CS3 Language Keyboard Input Error
Nov 20, 2012Background: We have a correctly functioning installation of Win XP, and PS CS3 Extended which appears to work normally in every other regard. No obvious errors; no crashes, no start-up complaints; nothing seemingly out of order. I use several installed languages in Windows (Eng UK, Russian, Swedish, etc). All of these work normally. All of my installed fonts work correctly in every application on the system except for CS3.
There would appear to be something wrong with CS3's keyboard mapping in foreign languages. When typing with a non-English keyboard setting (any other language) and using True Type fonts (not Open), only 'missing character' boxes appear in the artwork. The Layers menu displays the typed text correctly, but this will not appear in the artwork. If I use an old install of PS7, I can type using these same fonts correctly in any language. These layers can be imported into CS3, and these WILL display correctly on the artwork. However, the Layers menu in this case displays nonsensical characters. Ergo, I suspect that CS3's keyboard input data is errant.
Where does PS3 keep its information regarding language / keyboard layout? It is possible to edit this file(s)?
AutoCAD Inventor :: Input 3D Cartesian Coordinates / Batch Input (x / Y / Z)
Feb 4, 2013My need is to create up to 50 points from the same origin in a three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system but I’d also like to have a labels for each point that show up in the feature tree.
Are there Inventor 2013 plugin (i.e., add-on, 3rd party, AP) to convert a list 3D Cartesian coordinate system locations (i.e., points) to Inventor to work points(x, y, z)?
I found that I cannot create 3D points in the assembly. Is this correct? I did find that an Inventor part may be used to create a 3D sketch that creates points in 3D space. In the past few days, I found two ways to create 3D points within a iPRT; the batch way uses an Excel file but it then does not allow me to name the points in the feature tree. The second way is to create them one at a time but that take way too much time.
