AutoCad :: Change Line Tool To Pick Polyline?
Sep 15, 2011I'm working with ACAD 2011. How can i change the line tool to pick a polyline every time i press the line button?? It's simply because I'm tired of the pulldown menu. I know the shortcut but I would like to be able to pick it in my ribbon as well..

Mar 25, 2011I am drawing golf course features and I need to reduce the number of nodes on an a line that has been offset from a splined polyline. I want to tweak the shape of the offset line but there are a trillion nodes which makes it impossible.

Oct 31, 2013I have a diamond pattern that needs to be a polyline and also needs to be offset on each side of the diamond. When I create a polyline out of one diamond pattern and then try to offset the polyline pattern a certain distance on each side, it will only let me offset to one side and not the other.

I have found example in API manual, chapter "Interactive selection". Everything seems be clear but finally this example (and also others which I have found on web) doesnot work as I am expecting.

I am able to select face, during selection is cursor shown as arrow with plus symbol, content menu show correctly zoom and pan commands. Unfortunatelly when this selection is done and message box show the value, the cursor and content menu does not return to correct state. Cursor is still with plus and content menu with zoom&pan. I have found that problem is with messagebox, just before messagebox is shown the cursor and content menu return to correct state , but after messagebox is shown and closed, then cursor and content menu is wrong. Why?
Finally I need it for my addin in C#, is there and better way how to select item or input 2d point?
I use Inv 2013.

Jul 25, 2013I need my users to pick a point p, enter a distance r and a direction v. A new point should be created r units away in vectorial direction. Therefore, the new point is located on an imaginary circle with radius r and center p.
Currently, the user picks the first point and enters a distance. Then, he has to pick another point (Editor.GetPoint with UseBasePoint = true), I calculate the vector between both points, create a new point (with location = BasePoint.location) and translate it d units in vectorial direction. This works of course, but the problem is, that the user doesn't see directly, where his new point is located, since he may pick a point closer to or farther away then r units.
Naively spoken, I want to restrict the line between BasePoint and new point while prompting the user to a fixed length. Native calls to ObjectARX-methods would be also okay.

Jan 31, 2013I'm wondering if there is a lisp possible to measure area's by pick point (as in bpoly). This little feature exists in Microstation so i was looking for something similar.
Is it also possible if this lisp can measure areas from an external reference (dwg, dxf, dgn, shp etc..)? I'm kind of new to AutoCAD in that sence.

I have made object by joining polyline and part of a circle, which I turned into polyline by using pedit. But when I try to plot it to pdf it shows as slightly offset combination of elements.

but the command doesn't seem to like my PT1 value
BLK and VAR1 are set in another lisp routine.

Aug 7, 2012We have survey files that we xref into our design files. In the survey files themselves, the points don't change color. When we xref them in, the point markers (only the circular node on the actual point, not the line coming off of it) take on the color of whatever the current layer is in the drawing, only fixable by changing the current letter and regenerating.

I can write some code to type in text manually as the default option and get the second option to select entity using get string and then write some condition of if code but I don't know how to do it having entsel as default option.

For instance, our alignment line is the centerline of the road. I need a station and offset of the new right of way line points at different places in the drawing. I want to use the alignment stationing to have it automatically create the station and offset at the point I choose.

Nov 27, 2012When I import my points (.txt), all of the points go to whatever layer is current. They don't go into their repective layers anymore.
Also, for surface, the surface doesn't even show up now. This is the 1st time with this problem too. I created the surface, assigned the point group and still no contours.
Also, out of curiosity, during the point import stage....what is "assign offset to point identifiers"? does this mean, if points are right on top of each other, it will be automatically offset to read?

Currently, as far as I ca see, there is no way to select a group of points to include, either by point group or selection from the drawing. There is only "Select All' or "Deselect All". I want a report that will show the station, offset, raw or full description and elevation of a group of points related to an alignment/street. I don't see that option.
