AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Adding Offset Distances To Point Label
Jun 1, 2012I need to show offset distances from alignment centerline. Is there a way to add this to the point label?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Create Station-offset Label Style That Will Drop Trailing Zeros In Offset?
May 14, 2012I am trying to create a station-offset label style that will drop the trailing zeros in the offset section - e.g. 15' instead of 15.00', but if the offset is not at a whole number, e.g. 15.01, etc. it will display the entire offset.
I created two expressions: IF(OFFSET-TRUNC(OFFSET)=0,.1/12,.00000001/12)
and this one: IF(OFFSET-TRUNC(OFFSET)!=0,.1/12,.00000001/12)
I then created two offset components, one called truncated, and one called full, and assigned the heights to match the expressions.
I have attached the file, the style is ACHD-Sta Off-Rt [copy]

Civil 3D’s sideshot command acts differently. It draws lines between the radial end points.

Do you know what command is needed to do what I want? It is not the Create Line by Side Shot command.

I tried POINT -> ALIGNMENT: STATION/OFFSET, and that prompts me to tell where i want the offsets to go. I want to be able to pick the center of each bore and have civil 3d tell me that information. May 19, 2012I am trying for last hour but cannot make this work. I have attached screen shot of a dynamic label with some text. The problem is as you add degree symbols and inch (") symbols and paratheses to the text, the leader starts to intersect the station value. I want to move the leader a little below the sta. value so the station vallue is readable. When I move the leader the text moves with it. I tried everything in edit label text option but cannot seem to fix it.

Oct 7, 2013I would like to set up an alignment station offset label that when in the dragged state, offsets the arrowhead from the actual insertion point on the alignment in any direction and distance I specify. I am preparing some plans for a water line. I am working at a 1"=200' scale so all of the blocks representing fittings are scaled up so they are legible.
In some instances, the fittings are right next to each other. If I place an alignment station offset label at the actual station and drag it away from the alignment, the arrowhead is pointing to the station but not the fitting. Is there a way to offset the arrowhead of a C3D label in dragged state other than in the direction of the leader?

Nov 27, 2012When I import my points (.txt), all of the points go to whatever layer is current. They don't go into their repective layers anymore.
Also, for surface, the surface doesn't even show up now. This is the 1st time with this problem too. I created the surface, assigned the point group and still no contours.
Also, out of curiosity, during the point import stage....what is "assign offset to point identifiers"? does this mean, if points are right on top of each other, it will be automatically offset to read?

Currently, as far as I ca see, there is no way to select a group of points to include, either by point group or selection from the drawing. There is only "Select All' or "Deselect All". I want a report that will show the station, offset, raw or full description and elevation of a group of points related to an alignment/street. I don't see that option.

May 4, 2012i've got a bunch of points that need a coordinate label. my drawing is on a state plane coordinate base but i want the point labels to be on an artificial coordinate base. i basically need to start in the corner of a parking lot at 0,0 and work my way out from there with the coordinates based on that 0,0. AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Point Label Style
Apr 27, 2012I'm using AutotCAD Civil 3D 2012 in the Civil 3D workspace, trying to create a point label style to show what I need it to show. I click on a point and select it's properties. Once on the properties tab I go down to the point label style box and clicked on the down arrow. A list of options then comes up and I selected the create/edit option. A small point label style box then appears and i choose the button directly next to the drop-down list and the label style composer box pops up. In this box I go to the layout tab and then go down to the contents box. I select the browse button next to the contents to select the contents. I select the contents I want but when I apply it every point has those contents and I need just that one point to have those contents.

What I am doing is mapping points which each have a simple point number label. (asbestos load buried in landfill in case you are curious) There are many points which have the same coordinates (up to 20 points sometimes). So, then I have to drag each label individually until all labels are visible.This take a ridiculous amount of time when you are talking about 1000+ points.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Adding Dynamic Blocks To Alignment Label
May 14, 2013I am using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013. I am thinking that this may not be possible at this point but I am still going to try. I have an alignment label style for station and offset. I also have created a dynamic block for the border of this label to put around that label. This call out border is not a typical single width border so the borders within the alignment style do not match and cannot be used for our designs. I have attached an image of the border around the label style for a random alignment. So far the dynamic block has been a great fix for the border so that we dont spend a lot of time drawing in these borders for each label, but I was trying to add this dynamic block to the label style so that it would act as the border.
So far I have tried adding the block as a component in the layout tab of the label style but it appears where I anchor it and does not access any of the dynamic attributes to make the callout box larger in reference to the text. I know I can insert it so that in general it will be surrounding the Station, Offset, and Alignment contents, however, we frequently add additional text to our labels to callout pipe bends and other items so the box is not typically the same size.
How I might be able to do this or if it is not possible at this time?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Add Leader Part To Leader Created When Drag Station Offset Label

I want to add the leader part to the leader that is created when I drag a Station Offset label. This would be the part in a three point leader that goes horizontal for a short distance before the label text begins, similar to how a multi-leader is created. Looks weird having the C3D labels be the only "leadered" noted be without the landing.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Corner Point Label Style
Apr 28, 2012i have a building corner point label style that labels the corner of bldgs with the elev on top of an arrow and the full description of a bdlgc on bottom of arrow...rotated at 45 degrees....
i have 3 components...a block of an autocad leader i call an arrow that i just drew from left to rt on layer 0 and named the component arrow...then i have the elevation and the description
problem is that when i rotate label to move it out of way of obstructions it flips the elev on bottom and the desc on top!!
i have tried a number of combinations of anchor pts and changing the "flip anchor pts with text" to true/false under the general tab of the label style composer...
i cant get it!
