Aug 31, 2006Am currently evaluating Photoshop and have a relatively simple question: I need to be able to view the size of the crop area when I draw the marquee... For example: I have a pix that is 2240 pixels by 1488 pixels and I want to crop it to 2000 by 200 to fit into a Flash movie.
When I draw the marquee I expect to be able to view the size I have drawn and also be able to adjust the marquee based upon pixel size.

let's say i have rotate the ucs about z axis 45 degrees and make it plan now i draw some things and then i change back to world
worlducs = 1
viewdir = 0,0,1
ucsxdir = 1,0,0
ucsydir = 0,1,0
but the display is still in the ucs z 45 (ucsfollow = 0) set the view to PLAN current (now the view is aligned) but the system vars does not change.
For a plan UCS, you would need to compare the VIEWDIR system variable and the cross product of the UCSXDIR and UCSYDIR system varaibles.

Photoshop :: Canvas Pixel Size Doesn't Match Grid Pixel Size
Dec 6, 2012I'm using Photoshop CS5 and as you can see on the picture below, when I set my grid line to every 1 px, grid doesn't match canvas pixel size.
Now I'm not able to draw sharp shapes using pen tool because even if I hold shift key everything gets blurry.

Aug 28, 2007i currently have a logo that is 460X440 pixels and 12.17cmsX11.69cms and the resolution is 96 pixels per inch.
i am wanting to change it into a 2cm X 2cm avatar that is less than 6K in size,
how do i do this? everything i try makes the output file about 24k in size.
the reason i am doing this is the forum i regularly post on has a max avatar size of 6k.
AutoCAD 2010 :: How To Set Current View For Rendering
Dec 14, 2012I'm working on a couple of models (all using the same "stage" for rendering) and I split the models up into their own separate dwgs but retaining the stage area for each. What I'm having an issue with is rendering the current view in model space. What's happening is that I'll either get an all black (meaning nothing was rendered) or I'll get a rendered piece of the stage where a model once was set up, but not the current view for which I want (where the model is set now). So basically, the rendered view is pointing somewhere else. I'm not setting any of the camera views however to render; I've been using just the current view so I can get exactly what I want. I just need to figure out "how" to get it to render what I'm seeing on screen (consistently) and not something off to the side, or a shot of the wall or floor, or the old location of previous renders, etc. Sometimes switching back to 2D wire frame will fix the problem, but now it's not. I've tried setting the camera view current and that isn't working either. It still renders what was an "old" rendered view--like it's stuck in memory. Closing and re-opening CAD doesn't fix the issue. This is very frustrating. All I'm trying to get is a WYSIWYG rendered view.

GIMP :: Pixel Size To Print A Certain Size
Oct 17, 2013I want to create a template whereby I can make a series of images that I can save as jpgs, upload to my blog, and people can print them. When they print, I want them to be one quarter of a sheet of paper (fit four to a page).
I tried creating a new image using the "inches" specification and those inches seem to have no bearing on inches in real life once printed.
So then I figured that a sheet of paper is 8.5 by 11 and I want a resolution of 300 dpi.
So 8.5 times 300: 2,550 pixels. Times that by 0.25 to get a quarter of it: 637.5 (which gets rounded to 638 pixels).
11 times 300: 3,300 pixels. Times that by 0.25= 825 pixels.
So I put in for 638 pixels by 825 pixels and 300 dpi. I created my image. I saved it as a jpg at full resolution. I uploaded it to my site and tested out the printing.
It took up most of a sheet of paper. Not even close to being a quarter of a sheet.

Jun 26, 2012I love annotative scaling of objects it is a great feature. I am however having one problem that I'm not sure if I've missed a setting or something. Is there a way to prevent civil 3d from scaling your annotative objects based on the view scale you are looking at? For example if I zoom out (in model space or max viewport) to show my entire drawing and regen, civil 3d scales all my text and blocks to an enomous scale esentially blocking my entire drawing with solid colour. also if I zoom into a small area to do some detail work all my text becomes microscopic and unuseable. This makes adjusting text so it doesn;t overlap other text very difficult if it never appears at the correct size. Is there a way to freeze annotative objects at thier correct scale (for the current viewport scale) so they dont scale simply because you zoom in or out on a drawing?

Sep 15, 2011I am trying to export part of a structural model to IFC but Revit is exporting the complete model. My file is from a consultant and is created in Revit Structure 2011, I am opening it with Revit 2012. The model contains ‘new’ and ‘existing’ phases which appear to be set up correctly.
I have tried a couple of different methods set up a 3D view and defined it by phase 'new only' so the existing is hidden, and tried to export with the “current view only” checked and uncheckedset up a 3D view and defined it by workset using visibility graphics, and again with the “current view only” checked and uncheckedEach time when I open the Model in Navisworks or Solibri everything is visible.Have tried this in both Struct and Arch with the same result, but I do not have the same issue if I open and export from Revit 2011 (arch) ?
AutoCAD LT :: Raster Image - Changing Pixel Size But Still Maintain Scale
May 18, 2012So we've been sent a DWG file for a large site, that includes a massive aerial (TIF) image.
At this point it's too large to even work with so I'd like to scale it down (proportionally, so it will still maintain the same aspect ratio).
For simplicity sake, lets say the image is 15,000 x 15,000 and I want to scale it down to 5,000 x 5,000.
The problem is that AutoCAD seems to use that pixel size to determine the actual scale, so when I updated the new (smaller) image, it was also 3x smaller in the world.
How do I scale down the image independently of the size so it will still maintain the same scale in the CAD world? (I'm a 3D guy so this is akin to scaling down a texture, yet having the plane its projected on maintain its original scale.)

Revit :: Import Geometry Will Not Be Visible In View Using Current Settings
May 23, 2012I'm trying to import one Revit file into another. When I try to link the file I get a dialogue box that says:
"The import geometry will not be visible in the view using current settings. The Oringin of the import will be centered on the origin of the model instead. You can view the import in any view where its geometry is within the extents."
For this it sounds like the imported model is way off to the side or way up high or low but even in a view that I increase the extents to maximum i can't see the object.
I've tried "center to centre" and "origin to origin". I've check in the visual graphic and can't see anything turned off.
The file i am imported ia a structural model export from Tekla that I imported into a Revit and cleaned up. Everything looks fine when i open the file on it's own.

Jul 20, 2008I often have to make borders for certain pictures, and I usually make them at 3px. Sometimes they are nice and thick like 3px should be, but sometimes they come out thin. It doesn't matter whether I am editing on a jpeg or png. Also I edit them in grayscale mode if that helps. I also noticed them problem with the brush, and text tool, as in pixels changing size (going from normal to smaller). I have tried resetting all settings. Should I remove the configuration folder in AppData (I use vista 64 bit)?
I use the pencil tool to make borders.

Disk space not a problem these days and would save time to have a pdf copy of all drawing tabs readily stored in the directory ready for issue.
