AutoCAD Map 3D :: Unable To Do Grip Edits On Mpolygons
Jun 7, 2010How come I can't do grip edits on MPolygons in Map 2011? I might be mistaken but I was sure we could do this in 2010 couldn't we?

View 5 RepliesI have a pipe network, all the structures and pipes are connected properly. When I use the grip to move my structure, it will not move. I have to move both pipes then the manhole to relocate my structure. Shouldn't I be able to move the manhole and the pipes come with it? Instead I am having to make 3 grip edits and then reconnect the structures and pipes.

Tag designation (text and number) generated from wall style (wallstyles:type) and be annotative.
Tag has 2 lines forming an L that I would like to preset (12" by the text and 18" long) but have the capability to be stretched/stretchable later on.
Tag has grip hand similar to doors which enables it to be attached to walls but doesn't change placement when wall is extended/trimmed/ moved or wall tag generates information from the wall it touches but if the wall moves the tag would stay but show and error or "X".

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if there is a way to do two things with a block. In the attached drawing, I have a block, Block01. There are 2 visibility states: stretch with 90 degree ends, and stretch with angled ends.
I'd like for the grips for the other parameters to move with the block when I stretch one grip. For example: If I stretch the object with the 90 degree end, I'd like the grips for the angled ends stay in the same position relative to the corners of the object.
I'd also like to have a parameter that reads the angle when stretching with the "stretch with angled ends parameter.
I am running AutoCAD LT 2008 and have started having a problem with a 2 to 3 second hang time when I select the grips on an object. The mouse just freezes up for a few seconds. It doesn't happen when I am in a command and select the object because the grips are not activated then. I have upgraded my graphics driver and reinstalled AutoCAD, with no improvement.

You can't edit the definition of the Rev Block, I'm stumped. I need to do this so my Rev Block is attached to the titleblock top right corner so when changing border sizes, it follows the top right corner.

A grip of a hatch is not snapped to another, In the attached screenshots, I tried to move the indicated grip to a target one but no “sign” for snaps is shown!
The screenshot and the dwg are attached. How these two grips can be snapped?

Trying to remove multiple hatch grips. Since 2011 brought in the pop-up option, single grips can be removed with this method. But when I want to delete a larger number of grips at once, I can't achieve the required result. Process is as follows:
1. Select Hatch itself
2. Holding SHIFT, select multiple grips (which turn from blue to red)
3. Then 1 left click on a grip, and scrolling through the options using CTRL key until I arrive at 'REMOVE'. Then another left click and nothing happens!
I am wanting to make a grip that slides along a polyline. Similar to the diamond shaped grips used in Civil3d to slide along alignments and pipe objects to pick stations and insert labels. How this can be done in .net.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with some annotative text. The text is set to "match orientation". which is fine, except the text rotates on the grip tab on the lower left of the text instead of the insertion point.
This is how it should look with the two bits of text above each other, except matching orientation:
MODEL.jpg
This is how it does look:
VPORT.jpg
the lot number is justified to the bottom center, and the area to the top center, so in theory, they should show correctly at any orientation.
What might be the cause of a several moment delay when selecting objects and/ or their grip points. It doesn't occur when a command is entered first. The longer a drawing is open the worse it seems to get. Is there any fix or adjustment that can be made?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased LT 2012. I was using LT 2008 until now. When I grab a line from the endpoint grip and try to lengthen it by typing in a value it either shortens the length by the value I type, changes the overall length to the value I type, or does what I want it to- actually makes the line longer by the value I type but doesn't do any of these consistently. It didn't do this in any older version I've used and I can't find a setting to change it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIn previous versions, grip editing a point from one place to another maintained the point elevation regardless of how the point was moved. For instance, drag it from it's current location and snap to the end of a line. In 2013 the point elevation now changes to match the elevation of the point snapped to.
Is there a new setting to control how points react to Osnaps? Or are we now expected to use the .XY filter (without ever being notified of this change in workflow)?
Any way to remove the alignment grip (the blue triangle / square thing) when you're creating a dynamic block?
I know you can remove the stretch grips and such, but I don't need an "alignment grip" and it's just another symbol that will confuse my users / clutter the block up.
I changed something about how AutoCAD displays and enters data for block grips.
It used to display the current value for the parameter when I dragged a grip. For instance grabbing a grip for a linear parameter would give me the current length of the parameter and if I typed 24" into the dynamic input it would change the parameter's value to 24"
Now the grips behave as if they were ordinary entities. For example if I grabbed a linear grip that had a value of 12" the displayed value is 0. As soon as I move it displays the value of the difference. Stretching it to 16" will display 4" when it used to display 16". If I were to type in 16" however the parameter shoots to 28" (12" + 16")!See, it's giving me the polar distance I dragged the grip and not 2'-2" (the value of the linear parameter) like it should.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIt seems there have been a change in some system variable i ACAD2012 that changes the way a line lengthens when you use the grips.
I want the length to change relative to the selected grip not determine the total length of the line!
I'm guessing that it have something to do with polar tracking, if I turn it of the stretching works the way I want.
If you can get the co-ordinates of the centroid / label grip point of a parcel.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn previous versions of Civil 3D there was a grip on the point marker that allowed me to rotate the block used as a point marker, where did this grip go in 2013? How can I rotate an individual point marker without having to create a separate point style?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHave dynamic block w/ Block Properties table. Can use table to change size of block by picking from dropdown list. Would like move (insertion) point of entire block to always remain exactly centered in block. Block is simply a rectangle. Have tried setting insertion point using point filters (.x of mid of horiz line, yz of mid of vert line, etc,) but all this does is assign an absolute value to the insertion point. When the size of the block changes, the insertion point remains where it was (absolute position).
Have tried creating a base point parameter, but it will not let me use geometric constraints to define position (coincident w/ endpoint) or add parametric dimension so cannot define location by using formulas (d2 =d1/2, etc). Have kludged it by using dummy point at 0,0 and "fixing" it.
Same thing for location of properties table - how do I tell it to attach the properties table grip "coincident" to the lower right corner of the rectangle so it follows the corner when the size changes?
Have attached what I have so far.
Ultimately want to also place the text "Case 1" "Case 2" etc as read from the properties table in the middle of the rectangle so that when I explode the block the text remains.
