I am looking for a solution to publish or plot a dwg file to PDF or DWF with a transparent Background. This would remove the white paper background from the file and allow anything under the file to show through if overlaid such as a raster image.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a .png file that I want to place in a template. This png file is text with a transparent background. When I place this in my template, the background is shown in white. The sheet color the idw is beige, so this doesn't look very good.
Also, when I save a copy of the idw as .dwg, the white background is shown there as well. when it prints, it is ok. If there was a way to have it stay transparent in both?
(I'm working in CS4) and created a corporate logo for one of my clients. When I place the logo into Photoshop or InDesign, the logo is in a white box. How can I make the background transparent in the original Illustrator file?

This ir the original PNG image.
I created a black and white logo in Illustrator (vector).
I flattened it and saved it as a PS file.
I took it into FW and used Export Wizard. I checked transparency (index); made it an PNG 8.
When I see the file in the Finder it shows as transparent.
When I import the file into AI or ID it comes in with an opaque white background.
I have a BMP image that is part of a larger logo that I need to be cut out on my inline cutter. The problem is, when I convert the whole logo to the plotter file, the BMP image does not show up. I have tried using the outline trace to convert the BMP to a form my plotter will recognize, but when I save the file, it saves it with a white background that shows up in my plotter image. This white background messes up the whole logo.
Is there any way to save the file where the image has a transparent background? I have been saving it as a .cmx file and there is no option to save it as a transparent background.
I have just switched over to 2014 and i cannot for the life of me get my batch plot to plot PDF's to a single file! Instead, it's printing all 37 layouts separate. I tried switching between multi-file & single file in the publish options, but nothing!
i know that it took me a while to perfect my settings the last time i set up a new version, but i am struggling to work it out now.
2004 and how to turn "plot to file" off? Any time they go to plot the plot to file is already set and grayed out. It has been way too long since 2004 and I don't know where to have them look although I assume it is in Options somewhere.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am plotting a file that has a pdf referenced into it. The quality of the plot is degraded only at the inserted pdf. The rest of the AutoCAD file looks fine. The inserted pdf is a printed AutoCAD file which looks clear and even has embedded layers and linework I can snap to (which seems to indicate that there is vector information present when it is in Autocad.
I have attached an image with 4 zoomed-in screen shots to show what I'm describing.
I need to strip my current image of its background color so that the background color on my website goes thru my image. In other words I need a transparent background for my image.
I have create a new layer that is transparent, but the background color on my website does not go thru it. The background color of this image appears to be grayish not transparent.

Using someone elses template. When I plot to PDF the layout sheet name is not the PDF plot file name, it uses the drawing file name (and hence the same file name for all plots, not what I want). When I plot in paper space, my layout sheet name is the output file name, is there a way to change this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I plot to PDF, polygons plot with dark lines radiating from points along it's boundary, (see attached). If plotted correctly, the polygons should have a uniform appearance. What I have learned so far:
It only happens with transparency turned down in the style.I tried several methods including Adobe, DWG to PDF, PDF Report Writer, and Vadim PDF Writer.It was plotted from a different machine, same result.It was plotted by a different user, same result.It happens with other drawings.It also happens with solid hatches, but does not seem to be as bad.It does plot to the plotter correctly, at least!
I have some text documents in PDF format and would like to edit it in photoshop CS5, but each time I open them up in photoshop, the background seems to be transparent (tiny grey and white tiles), which is very eye tiring when editing/annotating with a wacom pen, how to fill the background total white?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was asked to cut out the background from a logo to make it transparent so the logo would look nice on a variety of backgrounds. I've been given a good quality jpeg file.
What I did was I selected (by colour) the background (white), inverted the selection, copied it and pasted as a new image.
It's all fine (the logo itself doesn't have any other elements) but there's still some whiteish/greyish outline around certain elements of the logo.
If I were to do it manually, it'd probably take ages. What would be the best way to accomplish it?
How do you plot a PDF-file from a cad drawing that shows the color of background - gray for instance? I use gray as background color to see other colors better but the PDF-file turns out with white
Background which makes yellow lines for instance almost impossible to see.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen printing a plan with a background mask, the mask shows as a bunch of ting gray dots. Also we have a plot style, using STB, that is supposed to print white, but it too prints as a light gray hatch. It is not that big of a deal until we scan to run sets. The dots and hatch get picked up more intensely by the scanner and it looks like hell, a big gray background. It happens on label masks too: contours, structures, etc. Wipeouts are okay, but those are not used much anymore. I am printing to an OCE TDS600 with current drivers, I have even tried older drivers. I also tried printing to DWF then to the printer and got the same result. Printing to DWF actually added little gray plus signs for the wipeout. The scanner is a OCE TDS600, and we plot with the grays & lines setting.
I have heard the dots are unavoidable, but I really don't want to believe that because it makes our plans look like crap.
I am trying to place a black background on a drawing so once it is printed it will be easier to read. I place a solid hatch in a boundary and use the DRAWORDER command to place in underneath everything else, but when I plot the dwg to pdf the black hatch comes out grey in the pdf (see attached pdf)
Is there an alternative that I can use to add a black background to a dwg?
For some reason, when using publish in 2012, it keeps taking me out of whatever window I have active at the moment. In all my versions of cad, I've never once had this issue.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have one drawing per file at model tab. When I need to plot a multiple page file, I use:
Print > Batch Plot.
The problem is that I have to set plot configurations ( plot style table, plot area, paper size, etc) in each file before use Batch Plot.
Now I received 722 files with a wrong Plot Style Table. For this time I change the associated *.ctb file at Plot Style folder, but I will need to associate the right *.ctb to each drawing. It's also common to have to change other properties.
Try plotting to a PC3 format with Line Merged option on under the properties for the plotter. Note how the contours continue through the text.
Try plotting with Lines Overwrite. Note how the contours don't go through text.
Any users out there saying they cannot use the "Lines Overwrite" option and need something else so they can still use the Lines Merged option and have their contour text looking good. How to get this in a SP or HF soon. Otherwise it may be deferred to 2010 and so on and so forth.
I have this problem with my MText Background Mask. You can take a look at the two attachments. Each one gives me the same issue, but with different MText objects. I'm also plotting to a KIP5000 and a SHARP All in One, and I get similar results, except in some of the MText, they come out in a random color as well. The pc3's for all devices are set to Lines Merge.
The text is actually part of an xref file, and if I plot directly from the file they are in, I have no problem. I did a test where I copied the text into the sheet file, and got similar results when the text is in modelspace, and I got my intended results when the text is in paperspace. Now, this is the way I want to go...but the company standard is to draw it all in the xref, so I have to figure out how to get around this.
I've gone back and forth with the Merge/Overwrite options in the pc3, and when plotting to PDF and SHARP, I get the correct output with Overwrite, but the KIP just completely ignores the background mask with Overwrite.
Is there a way to overlay a transparent background png image on a solid or mesh that already has a material assigned? i.e. a chrome object with a decal applied. I have tried creating a new material using my png file as the image but have not been able to overlay it on an object where I want to see the material underneath.
