View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been looking around for a script that will take the used spot colors in a document and place them in a predetermined spot. I've came across several posts about this, such as the COLOR CHIPPER although I think it's focus was on swatches. What is confusing is the part of making New CMYKColor or RGB or if I even need to do that. I've looked at other posts and the Adobe docs, but none seem to work. Adding the text isn't difficult, it's getting these spot colors to reflect what's in the document that is. From what I'm seeing now:
I may have to use some other type of script such as Applescript to get rid of unused swatches first throught the actions panel, but I'm not sure.I could possibly use the getByName method to call out the specific rectangle and the and relative callout with the appropriate color instead of having to position everytime.
I have a legend and can't manage to move it to a different part of the screen. Should be simple..

How come I cannot make a legend without AutoCAD crashing?
This video shows that the recover saved the legend that was made but just moving my cursor over it makes AutoCAD crash. It also crashed making a legend in the tutorial.

I am using 2013.
I have modelled my surface and have added 'elevations' to my model. When I attempt to add the legend all I get is the top headers; it is not populating the data rows.

It seems Map is hard-coded to use the table style 'Legend' when inserting a legend table, yet you can modify the table style of the legend table after it has been inserted.
Is there a way to change the default table style from 'Legend' to something else?
I have a custom block that includes a sheet keynote field. When trying to setup a keynote legend for those keys, they are 'filtered out'. Why?
How to get the legend to accept keynote fields that are not generated by the stock keynote tools?
Currently we have about 30 sheets where we xref the same construction note and legend. The client is asking us to remove notes that don't apply to each sheet. For example, sheet 1 will not need note 2, 6, 10, 11. Sheet 2 will not need 3, 5, 10, and 11, etc.
Same goes for the legend- they don't want to see something if it does not apply to the sheet.
Other than bringing in those notes and legend into each sheet and modifiying it, I can't think of another way to do this. Previously, if I needed to change the wording of note 4, I change it once and I'm done. If I need to change anything now, I will need to open up 20 sheets.
Also, they want to remove the note completely, and not just cover up the note with "Not used this sheet."

I posted this in Autocad General but was wondering if I can do something using C3D tables or labels...

I have been searching around all morning for a way to create a symbol legend in C3D 2012. Is there a way to create a legend of point sysmbols being used with in a dwg? I could do this manually but that could take a while if I have lots of sysmbols.

The volumes and areas don't seem to add up, take Cut 2 as an example only if the area of the previous (cut 1) was added could this be possible. There is lots of speculation in our office like does the fill work in reverse?
I am trying to draw on a screen shot from Google Earth. The image has a scale legend that has a measure line that is "80ft". I try to do a scale>reference to make my line equal 80 ft but instead the line I create is "2.75 inches". So I am trying to create a scale that equals what my screen shot is.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have to ad a object to the legend of a map in autocad.
The map contains a grid with on the right lower corner a legend window. Someone else drew some tents and fences on the map and most of the object were copied and placed in the legend with the text next to them explaining what the object is.
If i turn off layer 0 both the objects as well as the grid and legend disappear (means they are all drawn on layer 0) all other layers are the background of the map.
Problem is that I can select the objects drawn on the map but when i copy and drag them to the legend window they disappear behind the legend.
Even if I order them to be op top or in front of other objects they stay behind the white rectangular that contains the legend.
Another problem is that the legend and the grid aren't selectable, is there a way to make them selectable again?
I ma trying to print surface legend table to scale. I changed settings in model space, but I am not able to set it up to scale in layout (paper space).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on creating a surface style, legend and surface settings to create Slope Analysis Maps. These maps show a surface with different colors of hatches in triangles of the surface that are within the specified ranges. I have 3 ranges, 0-10%, 10-20% and 20-100%. I have been able to do everything but include the percentage of the area of the range over the total area of the surface. I thought maybe an expression, but doesn't look like you can have expressions for table styles. Attached is a pdf that shows my legend and a surface with the style.
View 7 Replies View RelatedRoutine to build a legend in paper space
I am looking for a routine or app to pull existing MS legend symbols (inserted from the block library) from the drawing and automatically place them in a PS legend. Since I don't have a large screen and sometimes miss a symbol before running a test plot, I wish to automate the process.
I am looking for a way to populate a paper space legend with blocks inserted into the drawing for Land Desktop 2005, 2006 drawings.
I also have to replace non-conforming architectural blocks with my own, then build the legend from all drawings tabbed in the drawing file (possibly all xref drawings as well).
I liked your article on 'Selectively writing drawing blocks to any folder using VBA'. I need to brush up on my VBA 6.0 and learn VB.NET. Perhaps your code can be modified to do the task, and this would be useful to many other designers in a further article.
Can I rotate the symbol after I placed it on legend? It seems not work the way. Is it a way or I miss something?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to tag a legend component? I'm trying to draw a "door types" drawing which shows the elevation of each type of door and I want to be able to place a title under each door that displays the door type mark. This is a very standard type of drawing that architects draw for almost every project and..after all...what could be more basic to a legend component then to be able to label it?
Now I use text to label each type of door...but if someone changes the door type mark and fails to update the legend also....I get a very un-Revit-like mis-coordination with my door schedule!
I would like to add a Master Keynote Legend on a drawing that shows my entire keynote list regardless of whether or not it is used in the project. View 5 Replies View RelatedWe are working with a company that will be sending us DWG files. They do not use the same layer colors as us and I am trying to find a lisp that would allow me to set up a table with the layer names and the color I want them to be so that I can quickly change all the layers to our companys color standards.
Example:
Layer 1 = Color 1
Layer 2 = Color 15
Layer 3 = Color 10
Etc.
I don't know a lot about lisp but I figure if I could find a lisp that did this I could plug in my layer/color assignments and it would work.
I have been trying to print a Keynote Legend directly to a network printer specifically because I wish to reference the legend whilst working at another PC to edit some specification notes which refer to the project I am working on. However, whilst the process (in Revit) seems straight forward "R"> Print> Print> Print Dialog>OK, having set the print properties etc, when I go to 'Print Range'> Selected Views/Sheets> Select> View/Sheet Set Dialog> <in-session> the two other Legends are listed but not the Keynote Legend! See below, whilst the 'Keynote Legend Can be clearly seen in the Project Browser and is the open view.
