AutoCAD Map 3D :: Exporting To MapInfo Shows Points Only
Jun 1, 2011
I have 3 dynamic blocks with attributes representing pipes and pits in AutoCAD Map. When I export to MapInfo, MapInfo only shows points for the blocks with attributes. I think Im missing a step in the process?
As I move the Selection tool over a path I see what looks like a white anchor point that moves along with the selection tool as I hover over the path, however, there are not anchors other than the beginning and ending of this path. Are these anchor points or something else?
I'v seen for exporting a path to illustrator, they mention the File>Export>Export Paths to Illustrator option. When I look under "Export", the only options I get are:
Data sets as files... Render Video... Zoomify
I can still drag/cut/paste the path into Illustrator, so I haven't been stopped, but why the export option isn't showing up?
How to export points that i have plotted into a text file using autocad 2013? I've tried to look on the internet and it seems you can download plug ins but i don't know if those are safe to use.
Trying to export points to a csv with the object data that is attached to the point. I can use this and it works great for smaller projects, but crashes every time when I try to export a larg amount of points. The most it has successfully exported was 9000 points but on average it usually will get to 3000 points before i get a fatal error and everything crashes.
Dim CSV_FileName As String = Nothing ' navigate to the point text csv file using a file dialog Dim dlg As New System.Windows.Forms.SaveFileDialog() dlg.InitialDirectory = "C:"
Using Civil 3D 2013. I've exported my Civil 3D points to an SDF and then to a shapefile. I cant get the "Z" elevation to come with it. Northing and Easting is correct, only problem is that is holds a zero elevation. how I can get the elevations to show correctl in the shapefile?
I've got a problem with the export to MapInfo .tab file. I export a dwg file with a georectified raster (but I export only the vectors) and when I open the file .tab MapInfo table shows the records, but the map is blank. I've tried to export a file without the use of the raster and it works, this is too strange for me. So, I think that the problem is the use of the georectified raster (remember, I don't export the image, only the vectors). I've also used MapInfo Universal Translator, but it didn't work.
After installing SP3, the Export preview window, as CMYK, shows a black window, but the file is exported correctly. This situation does not happen when the file is exported as RGB. Any explanation why this happens? I´ve tried with different files and happens the same "black window".
When exporting my edited pictures to a folder in m Pictures it goes as a blank soft color but no photo. It looks like a tiny dot and when you open it, it is a soft color..
I am trying to import a MIF file from Mapinfo into AutoCad Map 2011. Which is a data base of geotechnical locations with added log data for each point.
The data seems to come in ok (correct location) but some of the points don't have any object data associated with them. When I id the point and trace it back to the database (originally an .xls file that has been imported into Mapinfo for the translation purpose) there should be a whole lot of data associated with it. most of the points are coming in with data but there are random points with no data.
I'm trying to translate an AutoCAD 2013 Drawing into MapInfo format. I want to retain the 'Object type:' Geometry properties for each line but only get the default line geometry properties. How to link the 'Object type:' Geometry properties to the lines for translation? The drawing author called them 'civil 3d pipe network objects'.
I have a timeline made in Smoke and I'm wanting to only export a section of it. In other programs I would set an In and Out point and it would export just the range I've selected, but in Smoke.
I have a Flash project I'm working on that is video with corresponding bulletpoints displayed next to it. While I've gotten it to work with embed cue points in the FLV file so that at certain times in the video the Flash movie goes to certain frames to display the relevant bullet points I haven't gotten it so that it can tell what the appropriate bullet point is if someone scrubs the video past the last cue point trigger. I found a process to do it using actionscript cue points instead of navigation cue points (via this guide: [URL], but it uses an external xml file for the cue points. My problem is that I can't figure out how to get that XML file without having to redo all the cue points manually. Is there someway to make Premiere Pro (CS3) export an xml file of the markers placed in my timeline instead of embedding them into the FLV file? Alternatively if there is a way I could extract them from the FLV file, that would be acceptible too.
It was working fine. Then I just did a simple command (pattern a part) and the entire workspace blinked out. The first time it happened I hit UNDO and it was back. So I got out of the drawing and got back in and tried the pattern again. Same issue but this time when I hit UNDO it would not come back. I closed the file without saving and when I went back in the file the workspace is still nothing but white screen. In the browser everything is still visible except for those that I had already changed to invisible. I tried making an invisible to visible and nothing happened. I got out and tried opening the "old version" which should've been before any of this happened and it is also blank. I can go to an ipt or iam in the browser and hit open and it will open in another screen just fine. I just can't see my main assembly. I have Inventor 2012. It shows no errors or messages. I have even rebooted.
I looked thru the forum and found a past issue back in 2005 identical. I tried doing Find in Window on an item in the browser but for some reason that option is not even in the list when I right click.
I had to create a boundary map and place points to all corners. How to export these newly created points back into my data collector (Ranger) and also I'm trying to figure out how to print out a points list.
I stumbled on to this thread but I guessing that it's a different CAD year because my modify tab doesn't look like this. URL.....
there is a way to convert land desktop aecc points to cogo points and use the full description?
I do not have access to the ldt files nor to the Descriprion keys file. It would be nice if there was an option to preserve full descriptions when converting (that would be just too simple).
I have recieved a file with many points and would like to convert them into COGO points in Civil 3D. The problem is; I would like to keep the hole ID's as I convert, I've made a few conversions and lose the hole ID every time (not showing in Name or Description). Is there a seting I am missing to keep these? My aim to to organize the COGO points in different point groups.
I have a couple points that were part of an import event (data from a previous project) which I want to assign as control points for an incoming traverse, is there any way to assign those as control points? I can't seem to find a way to do that other than perhaps re-importing the specific points as control points and overwriting the existing ones.
I have a project that was started by leaving all the survey data inside the "All Points" group. So, I'm concerned that when I enter my as built survey points, that even if I put them into their own group, that the original surface will still look at them and just rebuild to my asbuilt data, effectively cancel out the purpose of the asbuilt survey. Will this happen?
I want to take the original points and put them into a group of their own, but I don't know if that will affect anything or not? I have several wetlands already designed on that surface with volume calcs already done too.
I have two locations marked by steel stakes on my land that are also shown on a CAD drawing. The CAD drawing is two dimensional; however, contours are shown. I have physically measured distances between these two known points and numerous other locations that I wish to plot on the CAD drawing. I could always print the CAD drawing to scale and plot the new points on the CAD printout by using the two known locations, a compass to draw arcs and locating the new points by where the arcs intersect. I am sure there is a much more efficient way to plot these new points within the CAD program itself. I have just started to use CAD;
Let me make my question clearer by considering an example as follows, Assume I have points A, B, C and D in a map. Is there any command that can list the distance between any two points out of all points? e.g. distance of A-B, A-C, A-D, B-C, B-D, C-D.
As the subject line says, when multiple instances of Inventor are open on the same machine, the addin will only show in the first one. I do not see any errors generated and tried many approaches. I tried to use the ribbon abpannelcontrol
created by the first instance. Or in every subsequent instance of Inventor to delete the existing ribbon abpannelcontrol, and recreate them from scratch. Both approaches did not work.
I have an exterior elevation that I copied from a previous project and in the course of editing it I deleted it to draw a new one. After x-refing it into the drawing sheet, a hatch pattern showed up that was not seen in model space. I cannot not delete it or even grab it and has conformed to the new boundaries set by the new elevation drawing. How can I delete or turn off?
