AutoCAD Map 3D :: Digital Elevation Model TIFF Not Recognized

Feb 8, 2012

I am attempting to use the Indiana Spatial Data Portal's 2005 Digital Elevation Model data to create a 3D contour map.  The provided ZIP files each include: TIF, TFW, RRD, and AUX.  The TFW and AUX files appear to be insignificant metadata.  MAPIIMPORT fails to insert the GeoTIFF.  You can download it yourself by going here, go to Single FIle Download on the left-hand side, then click anywhere on the map, then click again anywhere on the map.  You are given a list of datasets.  Download the dataset labeled "2005 IndianaMap Digital Elevation Model."

GIMP :: How To Get Digital Images In TIFF Or PDF Format

Nov 29, 2012

I like to repair books with missing pages. Often I can get digital images in tiff or PDF format, but they are often 'dirty', like the one attached. This one seems a good example of the sort of thing I would need to work on.

I need to reconstruct the image, which I think would mean:
i) getting an image that is complete and rectangular with a bleed out of in the same colour.
ii) remove blemishes like library marks, names etc.
iii) reconstruct the decayed text as sensitively as possible.

AutoCad 3D :: Rendering 3D Model In Front Of TIFF File?

Nov 28, 2011

I am currently working on a drawing. I modeled up 6 cable QCDC's and have to position them in front of an imported Tiff file in model space so that it appears they are installed in the scene depicted in the image. I applied a gray plastic material to my models and when I go to render the scene, the Tiff file and my models are all faded drastically.

AutoCad :: Model Fewest Welds / Fittings Required To Change Angle And Elevation In Pipe Run

Jun 11, 2013

How do I model (or calculate) the fewest welds/fittings required to change angle and elevation in a pipe run, as shown in Option1 below.

For this example the constants are: 8" standard steel pipe, one of the fittings is a standard butt weld 45 (12" radius), bend angle is 70 degrees, and the elevation change is 9". The custom fitting is cut from a standard 8" long radius 90.

Note: Option2 is just shown for reference, I'm only interested in solving Option1

You may want to check the active view, its Parameters, and Visibility settings. "I have my reference line set not far from the building and it seemed fine when i done the roof from the north and south views for the main building. I can see the model lines when i switch too 3D views but i cant create the mass from there.

Revit :: Moving Model To New Vertical Elevation?

Jul 28, 2011

My problem is trying to move the project model to a new elevation some 1000+ feet higher than the 0'0" schematic design elevation. When using the "shared" solution, it will work for the model but not for the Topo as the topo is also tied to the Project base point, so when one uses shared it also moves the topo map 1000+ feet higher. I'm trying to find a way where the project elevation can be adjusted to the base point elevation so both topo and model elevations coordinate with each other. It's a 4 level project with many exterior retaining wall levels. I'm almost to the point of doing a full copy of the project to the clipboard and then importing it at the level 1000+ feet higher.

Photoshop :: Advantages Of Storing Images In TIFF, TIFF LZW And TIFF JPEG?

Jul 5, 2004

I am cleaning up the Hard Drive on my Mac G4. My scanned images are taking a great portion of the 80 Gig drive. I finished clearing my external drive by removing nearly 60 gigs of images by storing them on DVD. I will do the same for the Mac drive.

My trouble is that all my images are stored in TIFF format which takes up enormous space no matter the storage. Since I output images in various sizes, mainly prints, to 30 x 40 inches, I need a master image archived in the best format for such. However, I do not want to fill my drives, or DVD, with large files. Code:

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Point Elevation Takes On Elevation Of Snapped Object?

Dec 19, 2012

When I snap a point to an object, the point takes on the elevation of the object. I would rather the point's elevation stay as is.

-changing osnapz variable

-latest civil 3d service pack

A few weeks ago I did not have this problem but once my computer was switched to the company's global server and c3d was reinstalled the problem appeared. Furthermore (post switchover), when a colleage of mine prepared a simple test drawing with just a line and a point, he was able to snap to that line without the point changing elevation. When he sent that drawing to me and I tried snapping the point to the object, the same problem occured with the point taking the elevation of the line object. I suspect it is a system variable issue

Photoshop Elements :: 12 - Save TIFF File With Extension TIFF Instead Of TIF

Dec 2, 2013

I am using PSE 12 as an external editor for Aperture.  When I ask to use an external photo editor, Aperture creates a .tiff file in my Aperture folder, launches PSE 12 and tells it to edit that .tiff file.  This all works great.  When I am done editing in PSE 12, I ask it to save the file and it saves it back to the original Aperture folder with a .tif extension.  I can instead say "save as" and then it suggests the file name with a .tif extension.  When I correct the extension to .tiff it warns me that I'm going to overwrite the file (exactly what I want!).  I say yes and then I find out that PSE did not overwrite the file, but wrote it as a .tif file anyway.  I have to go to the folder, delete the .tiff file and rename the .tif file to .tiff and then everything is fine - but what a hassle.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Styles Not Recognized As In Use?

May 18, 2012

So I'm in the process of upgrading a project from C3D 2011 -> 2012.  As a part of the upgrade process I'm doing some drawing cleanup such as purging unused layers/objects, purging regapps, deleting unused scales and finally taking advantage of the Styles Manager in 2012 and purging unused styles.

However, I'm noticing that almost all of my styles are coming up as "unused" unless they are attached to drawing settings, even though there is clearly objects in that drawing using those styles.  I noticed this was happening when after running a purge my road profile lines were disappearing because the style no longer existed.

The items that have styles attached are DREF'd into the drawing and are not "live" objects in the drawing, if that makes any difference.

AutoCAD 2010 :: CTB Files Not Recognized

Dec 27, 2012

Today my company's server went down. We are operating from a remote backup.  Whenever I try to plot, our .ctb files are missing from the plot styles drop-down.

I have located the directory to place them there and the "real" Plot Style Manager folder contains the files. Interestingly, when I go to adjust the files in ACAD, it erroneously directs me to my computer's "Documents" folder. It seems clear it is being mis-directed since it cannot access the Server. Believing it'd recognize the files in the Documents folder, I placed the .ctb file there. ACAD still did not find the .ctb.

I have also ensured the plot settings in the Options menu is set to "Plot to color dependent styles." (Rather than .stb)

It is clear to me this issue is resulting from a lack of communication to the server.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Assembly Components Not Being Recognized In Drawing?

Jan 16, 2012

Here is the history.  I originally created a part with multiple solid bodies.

After creating it I was told we needed to make it an assembly.  So what I did instead of recreating each component I called up the original multi-bodied part and did save as copies.

Then deleted the portions of the model I didn't need with only the part needed left.

Then I took all of those parts and assembled them together to form an assembly.

Now, here inlies the problem.  When I go to make a drawin gof this assembly all of the balloons are coming up with the same item number as it was when it was a multi-bodied part.

It is clearly an assembly based on the model tree and the file extension.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Pressure Pipe Catalog Not Recognized?
