I have connected to several raster images and they are displaying as required and I've saved this drawing. I've created a new drawing and when the previous drawing is xref'd in the images are not present.
View 3 RepliesI have attached two images of a young girl. One image (the original) is the one with the busy background. The second image is the one that I have cut out. Now with the pattern I have inserted behind her, the image seems quite acceptable, but if it as a plain white background, there is still some areas around the hair strands that contain the bluish background. Also to get to the stage of my image, I had to delete some of the whispy hair strands to make it look acceptable.
My question is, do you think it is possible to cut this out any better. This was done using the Color mapping method, but I have tried a number of other methods, but cannot seem to keep the hair strands visible and still end up with some color contamination around them. Do you think you could try this image and see if it could be done better.
I quite often have to work with scanned in images of very old drawings. (some going back decades).
These are usually sent to me in PDF format. I extract a TIFF image from the PDF, then will open it up in Microsoft image manager to tweak the rotation, save, then reopen it up in Microsoft Paint to clean up the image. (delete trash marks, old notes, redraw / darken lines, etc.)
I have imported a number of raster images into a drawing and wish to turn the "blank" bits transparent. I can set them all to "Background transparency = YES" in the Properties bar, but as far as I can see I need to go through each one individually to set the relevant transparency color, since as soon as I select more than one tile the "Transparency color" tab disappears.
Is there a way to do a multiple select as the "blank" color is the same for all the tiles? I'm planning to use a lot of tiles and this will be incredibly laborious and inefficient otherwise. I am using Map 3D 2011.
I am looking to draw a large lake that I live on that has 14,000+ islands. I have started drawing small sections by bringing in high quality maps and tracing them using the spline command. Is there a faster way to trace the entire lake.
I want it to be all drawn with closed poly lines so that I am able to laser cut it and apply hatching. Other tracing programs in which I insert a image of the lake and it gives me the CAD format are very inaccurate and a pain to work with.
I have the attributes and units I want mapped between the shp file and the import wizard but everthing still imports with default values. (like pipe size or elevation.)
The only thing that is correct is the location. I see a few people have reported this but there aren't any solutions.
I am using civil 3d ver 2011. I have been asked to do a mapping project that will be compatible with ESRI ArcGIS. THe project consists of mapping of waterlines. The only data collected will be waterlines, hydrants, valves. Attributes required would be Size, Depth, Material, NEZ. What is the best way to do this? I know that civil 3d has autocad map built in, but but am not sure how to assign the size, depth, etc to the entities.

For example, when you bring all the points in at elevation, and draw lines between them, we have issues with line patterns and querying distances. How are others handling this, or is there a setting to turn off the z?
I am having some mapping difficulties with regards to applying a JPEG as a material map onto a surface material. Below are the details.
I have a surface model which was generated from topographical information. I have aerial photography of the area the topographical information is based on. The photography covers approximately 1000m2 area.
The topography area in contained within this area, it is in the upper right hand corner of the square photo. I have applied planar mapping to the surface . I resized the mapping area of the surface to suit the area that the photo covers (I created a boundary rectangle and adjusted the mapping size to suit). I created a customer material using the jpeg photo I applied it to the surface . The image scale is set to 1000 . All other settings remain as default settings.
The mapping displays over my model, but its on the wrong location, i.e. information contained within the jpeg that is out with the topographical area is appearing on the model. When I turn off tiling the mapping disappears from my model completely. I have read a few tutorials today and went back to basics on a few trials by creating blocks and applying the material and scaling it that way. All behave as anticipated. Apart from this.
I'm having an issue within the DGNIMPORT command related to a mapping setup that only partially maps..
I'm using the DGNIMPORT command in a nearly empty civil3D drawing. I created a mapping setup to map over the levels to layers, the line styles to linetypes and the line weights. The levels successfully become layers, the lineweights are mapped appropriately... but the Linetypes are NOT.
I've attached two screen shots to illustrate the issue. The first shows the window with my mapping setup.
The second shows the 'preview' for the setup (Microstation Linestyles 1,6,7 are sent to continuous instead of to the 3 line types I created for the mapping process...)
I would like to use AudoCad 3D to do real time pit geology mapping. I have a AudoCad 3D on a tough which is equipped with Bluetooth. I have a Tremble 5800 rover which is also equipped with blue tooth, and I would like to connect the Tremble with AudoCad so I can see my position in real time while I'm mapping with AudoCad.

I have a 3D drawing of a very simple curved floor, similar to a skateboard ramp or a photographers infinity curve backdrop. I also have a 2D design. I simply want to drop my 2D drawing onto this curve, so that it follows the geometry of the curve's surface.
When using "convertpstyles" to convert from ctb to stb I am asked to select a stb file. When I do I am given an error that says the color mapping table I have selected does not contain a color mapping table and cannot be used to convert the drawing.

I checked out the ColorMapping example but the tessellation of the flat surface is not sufficient to get high resolution image mapped on it. My intention is to attach images to several parts faces within the assembly environment and this as fast as possible since the scene needs to update very quickly.
PS: I use C#.NET.
I have copied a standard "L" to my custom library. Now I would like to map the properties for the CC parts to be like my other parts that are not created in CC. One of the things I need is the "Title" and "Description" iproperty fields need to be the sectional size, i.e. L3x2x3/16, L4x4x3/8....etc.
To do this, I went into the editor and created a column. I mapped this column to Project.Description (see image)
why this does not work? When I create a new part and look at the BOM, I only see "Angled Steel" in the description iproperty field (see image below)
I did the same thing with the "Title" field and the "Project" field. Those work great.... just can't make teh Description field happen.
This is with Inventor 2011.
I'm using AutoCAD Architecture 2012 for interior design. I need to rotate/move some materials, I know how to do it, but after mapping it, when I need to make any drawing modification, the mapped material resets to their default, and not ionly the modificated solid, but everything that I have mapped.
How do I save the mapping coordinates, to avoid the need to map everything everytime?
I am trying to alter the properties of a mapping layer file I have created so that both the block and the text value are oriented horizontal on my sheet no matter where north is pointed.

I produce a 176 page catalog for my employer. There are approximately 1800 iamges in this catalog. The images were produced by a multitude of photographers. The problem is that the backgrounds are all different and I would like to standardize them. I would like a blue PMS286 background for a particular section in the catalog and have managed to cut and place these images onto the blue background. I have added drop shadows and cast shadows to make the images look more realistic. They look okay but my trouble is with the backgrounds themselves. They still look like an artificial, non-photographic studio background. How can I make the backgrounds look more realistic as if these images were actually photographed with the new background?

I have entered (getenv "NEXTSHEET") & (getenv "PREVSHEET") into the descriptions fields and mapped these routines to 'NEXT_ATTRNAME' & 'PREV_ATTRNAME' attributes. When I run the title block updates no values appear on my drawing. Please note that I have included the program in my start-up suite. Please also note that when I enter 'NEXTSHEET' or 'PREVSHEET' on the command line, the routines are called and the correct values are shown on the command line. I just need these values to be visible on my drawing. I have attached the Autolisp routine that I am running.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi start in a new position for a new company noticed they have several cuix menu files for blocks such as structural shapes and weld symbols. so i loaded the menus with menuload and map to the directory of the blocks reference in the options files tab, but when i select the menu if has the block mapped to a different drive that does not exist. how can i change it to when i select, for say a w6x9 to map to the correct block on the correct drive instead of mapping it to some s: drive the directory structure is correct but the drive letter is not.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI need to have symbolized linestyles on a number of 3D polylines in mapping data.We normally would simply explode the 3D poly's, and our linestyles display fine.
The linestyles also display fine if we change the 3D polylines to polylines.HOWEVER, with the current dataset we have very high point density on our 3D polylines, and we need to preserve the elevation attributes of the lines.
If we explode the lines we end up with so many tiny segments that they will not display the linestyles - changing the linetype scale eventually will show the style, but at far too small a size to be relevant.
We also, in most of the layers, are not able to change the 3D polylines to polylines - we must preserve the 3D attributes of the lines.So the problem is that we can't explode the 3D polylines, and we can't flatten them either, but we want the linestyles to display.We are using Map3D primarily, but can access C3D if a solution is available there.
The precise scenario is for instance a line which is a top of embankment, but which has points at around 30cm intervals, over a line length of 206m. This particular dataset has several hundred lines like this, and the linestyle we are trying to display is a simple set of repeating ticks off one side of the line.
We are experimenting with weeding the points, but the shape of the lines is being considerably downgraded by this process.at this point we are most likely going to have to present this data without linestyles for these features - not our first choice.
