View 1 RepliesI had to go out yesterday and measure an house indoors. Anyway the room is not square but sort of an triangle. I have measured 3 wall sides.
How to arrange them so that I get an triangle. I could draw 3 lines and then start rotating them till I get satisfactory result but can this be done any quicker?
I'm trying to extract the 3d length of multiple lines into either a CSV, SSV or directly into a table, I have done a fair amount of research but all of the solutions seem to be for later versions of CAD than the one i'm currently using, I think 2008 is the first to have embedded data extraction for objects as well as attributes?

I got the attached lisp file from the web which automatically labels the lines with their length. Resulting the values of the length in the absolute values of the length instead of saying that the length is in inch. i.e, i need to remove the inch sign (") from the suffix of the length.
I checked a couple of old posts looking for a lisp routine that will count the number of lines and list each different length either in a dialog box or txt file. I am working on an estimate and I have a floor plan of owsj of different lengths. I downloaded the tlen.lsp but that is only giving the total number of joists and the total length.
I am looking for a lisp so that I can window all the owsj at once and have it list or show the result for the joist in this manner
sample output:
xx joists = 10'-0"
xx joists = 20'-0"
xx joists = 30'-0"
If I have a series of lines on a layer, is it possible for a macro to place a label for the lengths of the lines at the center of each line in AutoCAD LT 2012? Adding a DIMLINEAR to each line is for the birds....my drawings have as many as 250-300 lines that need to be labeled with thier lengths.......

I am drawing a gear and now i need to connect points to draw involute for a gear tooth: [URL] ...
Points are numbered. I'm trying to draw with a spline, but i don't know where to put last point of a spline to draw an exact involute - like for example - if i would draw like this and press enter - i would get this spline: [URL] ...
But if i would move cursor in a different direction and then press enter - i would still get almost identical spline, but still, not the same: [URL] ...
So how do i draw an accurate involute? Maybe i should draw one more point and then stop drawing spline?
is there a way to connect the lowest points of each cross section, for a series of cross sections, and possibly make a pline or feature line in plan view?

I have a time consuming problem that I was hoping a work-around or solution could be found for.
Some background: I use CorelDraw sort of as a CAD file creation software. The tool I use traces out straight, horizontal and vertical lines. At times, there are areas that need to be excluded being processed over, so my design has holes and gaps in it. The tricky part is, the tool I use needs time to accelerate up to full speed before I want it to start it's process. This requires that I add the same length to every single line in the layer (different layers need different added lengths). The problem that I run into, is that if I select multiple groups of lines that are not the same length and try to extend them, CorelDraw sees them as one group and extends the largest lines the right distance, but shorter lines get a different percentage of the distance, and gaps get shifted. I put in pictures of what I am talking about (a before, a good, and a bad).
can I select all the lines in a layer and tell CorelDraw to add X length to all of them, while keeping their center positions the same? It would save me a good deal of time.

Just getting started, gone through all the tutorials back in 2008...
first time I've actually tried to make something,
Can't use the sketch b/c there's probably a gap in the outline, is there a quick fix?
(Did the entire thing in snap to grid, was hoping there's a function to either connect lines all at once, or ignore Extremely small gaps).
All of a sudden, my line tool in sketch mode does not connect segment to segment and each individual line can be dragged wherever. This also means I cannot extrude any shapes I make because inventor does not realize the series of line segments create a closed shape. This happens across all part files, old and new.

View 5 Replies View Related[URL] When I use a point on an existing geometry as reference to place a new line or shape, I get a strange result when attemting to move either geometry.
As you can see in the video the two shapes will BOTH move when only ONE is selected.
Also, it seems that the shape/ lines that are not selected but still move are anchored somewhow which causes distortion.

Is this possible in the regular AutoCAD?

Making the switch to Civil 3D. I was previously using 2009, and I could add dimension labels by picking two points (endpoints, intersections, etc.) to get the whole line or just a segment. In Civil 3D 2012, I create styles and add labels through the annotate tab, but I can only selct the line or curve in its entirety. There must be a way to easily label portions of a line or multiple segments as one line.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi have been a long user of romcat... but would like to use the new corel connect. i use the folders selected to my HD folder that has all my cdr files (20yrs worth from ver 1). when i type in a search word that is in 100's of my cdr files keywords... connect doesnt display them. In romcat it does display them, even older files, with the same key word. connect only shows cdr files that have in its file name part of the search word, but seems to ignore the key words in the files.
I have all my job files with important key words within them, but the actual file names are simple job numbered names. i noticed on searches from X5 content on dvd, the files also are just numbers, but the search finds key words.
I need to create points with surface elevations along sample lines. The points need to represent the verticies one would see in the section editor. I've attached an image of my section editor for one of my sample lines. I need to create points that represent these 24 verticies along this sample line and do so for the rest of my sample lines as well. Is there an automated process to create these points?
