View 3 RepliesWe currently use a Gestetner 3227 B/W printer as a system printer and have experienced consistent print problems while plotting CAD drawings. We now have the opportunity to try to avoid print problems with a new printer.
We currently have Autodesk Inventor 2011 software (but only use the Mechanical Desktop feature for 2D & 3D), a Widows XP operating system and print to 8-1/2 x 11 and 11x17 papers only.
1) Does Autodesk have a list of recommended or compatible "Printers" that I can be directed to?
2) Is there a specific question, feature or requirement that the office manager should ask about the printer to assure compatibility?
So far, when asked if the printers are Autocad compatible, the vendors claim that their printers "should be compatible" or that they need further details about the autodesk product without being able to specify the type of details they require.
I do not see my printer in the import list.I have trial of pse 12.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to use Photoshop CS on my old computer. There it was possible to choose from a large list of profiles for different paper-types and different printers. I have now got a new Intel Mac (OS 10.8.3). I have installed Parallels so that I can run a 10.6 Snow Leopard server; and I have installed Photoshop CS2 in it. To my surprise and dismay, I cannot find out how to access the list of paper and printer profiles any more.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have some blocks (different exit signs) in a drawing. I want to make a table or excel sheet that sums up the number of equal blocks in the drawing. How can i make this?
I want to connect this tabel to excel 2010.
I use AutoCad LT 2012.
I have a list -
(setq List1 (list "Line A" "Line B" "Line C"))
I would like to add each item in an existing list to a new list -
(setq ListNew (list "This is some text" "This is more text"
the following is the part I can't figure out - it just adds the list to the list, not the individual items
(mapcar '(lambda (x) x) List1)))
I am looking for ListNew to be - (a list with 5 strings)
"This is some text"
"This is more text"
"Line A"
"Line B"
"Line C"
Is there a way to modify the DEFAULT SCALE LIST to show a metric scale list in an imperial template? I mean, I start a drawing using the imperial template, but i want to use the standard metric scales on paper space. on previous versions the scale list shown both imperial & metric. Now it depends of what the template is using.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've tried setting "Options" > "Plot and Publish" > "Use as default output device" to both "Default Windows System Printer" as well as "HP Officejet.I've double checked that my printer is in fact set as the default windows system printer.Nonetheless, every single time I print, "Printer/plotter" is set to "None" and I have to select my printer manually.

I have searched this issue in the Group, but I haven't seen any post talking about it.
i have autocad lt and I am unable to print. When I try to print my printer doesn't appear in the drop down box where the available printers are listed. the printer isn't hidden I already went to that box and it wasn't checked.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have a number of printers in our office, an A3, an A1 plotter and an A4 printer.
After printing off the same drawing to the A3 and the A4 yesterday, I realised the A4 printer is printing around 95% of the size it should be printing.
I don't even know where to start fixing this problem; the user manual for the HP Officejet Pro 8000 Enterprise [I know!] doesn't even reference scale at all. It could be an issue with CAD linking to the printer my computer linking to the printer the printer My colleagues are having the same issue, so it's not just my computer or settings.
My drawing office is in need of a Plotter.
Would a Hp printer be sufficient,or is a Plotter more suited to the task.
What are the differences between a Plotter and Printer?
I want to print an A3 drawing on an A4 printer. I saved the drawing as .DWF and opened the "Autodesk Design Review 2012" to perform the "tiling" print. When in printing properties, I can't seam to understand why the drawing is split in 6 pages, when in reality one A3 sheet is 2x A4 sheets. You can see in the example, that so much space is wasted, is there a way to center the drawing, and am I doing everything right here?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to set the Printer Configuration Search Path and the Plot Style Table Search Path. Currently I am using COM but the issue I have is that I need to run the same application on 2 different machines, one has only Autocad 2010 (xp-32bit), the other has both Autocad 2010 and Autocad 2012(win7-64bit) and I've got some difficulty to have it running.
Can I set those paths without using COM?
When trying to create a PDF file of any drawing with the inbuilt DWG to PDF AutoDesk plotter the software always crashes out with a FATL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000 Exception at 21247a28h. Not sure if this is a coincidence but this has only just started happening since updating my Adobe Reader software to the very latest XI version just released.
I have sent several error reports to Autodesk but can't see any in the support section. I have tried un-installing the Acrobat Reader software and AutoCAD still crashes out. Creating PDF's from external printers like PDF24 have no issues but prefer the inbuilt printer as it keeps the vector data and layering info in the resultant PDF.
Using AutoCAD LT 2013 with service pack 1.1 installed.
In our drawings we have a layout with a view port and tittle block.
Default printer set for that layout is "dwg to pdf.pc3" and paper is "ISO A3".
I had to plot this layout [extence] to a plt file for the use of our Production ERP.
We had to print to a specific windows printer with paper size A3.
We use to do it in VBA with the bellow code. How to do it in .Net
Public Function BetsyPlot2() As Boolean
Dim Plot As AcadPlot
Dim alayout As AcadLayout
Dim lowerLeft(0 To 1) As Double
Dim upperRight(0 To 1) As Double
Dim retval As Boolean
retval = flase
[Code]..
I'm having problems with lineweights. It shows up too dark whenever I plot to both pdf and the printer (Kyocera KM-2560 KX). Ive tried adjusting the ctb file (changing thicknesses of colours) but to no avail. This problem does not occur for my colleagues, with exactly the same ctb file. So is it a general autocad setting problem?

I know this isnt really a CAD question but I bought a hp designjet 510 about 6 months ago. It was working great and cutting everything. Then I had a paper jamb and ever since then it doesn't cut every time. Sometimes it cuts four pages in row and then sometimes it will group 2 together.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I plot directly to a plotter or to a PDF file from paper space, some of the 3d pipe model will fade out along the pipe line. It happens to some of the lines, not all. I have re-drawn the pipes and drawn them using different UCS orientations. No change. I changed the layer color, changed the tessellation, line weight. Can this problem be related to the display driver, either software or video card? I have the latest drivers. ACAD ver. 11, nvidia quatro fx-3800 card.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have some very strange problems printing from Autocad. Some of the text is missing. The printer used is a HP9500. If I use a PDF driver to print to file, then print from the PDF file, it's ok, the text is showed, but printing directly from autocad has been resulting in this type of issue.
I checked the layers, and they are ok. The fonts are ok. It's not printing some text "near the viewport" borders. It was what I could conclude.
My printer/plotter selections are missing.
I used to be able to select 2 separate printers and a PDF'ing option but all of a sudden they are missing?
The printers are connected via a network, are visible and usable in Windows and I can print to them from other software packages (word, outlook, etc).
I was away for a week and when I came back they were missing from Autocad (2011LT version 3).
The machine is a dell Precision T5500, Intel Xeon E5507, 4 GB RAM
Windows 7 64 bit SP 1
When I try printing, autocad gives me the following message (see attached pic). I deleted that driver out of system preferences. Yet it sitll keeps looking for it. I get the spinning rainbow for about 5 minutes, the the print dialogue eventaully comes up. I can print, but that takes over 5 minutes as well. Seems like autocad gets stuck in a loop looking for a driver or something. How do I fix this. Printing a single pages takes me about 10 minutes. Do anything within the page setup manager results in a spinning icon for a few minutes as well.
