Is there a way how I can unselect element one at the time?
Example if I do fillets and I select wrong edge and I want to unselect only that because I have selected example twenty edges already and dont wont to throw away all work what I have already done.
I am running Inventor 2012 sp2.
Even with a simple IPT that only has a handfull of features, at times it takes a long time (3-5 minutes, sometimes longer) for Inventor to execute a undo or redo command.
Undo file size setting in Application options is set at 1MB (which is teh same setting I used in previous versions).
I have been looking for a command to define a shortcut for the spot color to the selected element. But i could not figure out. How to covert the selected element into spot color here in x6.

we would like to have a generic wall (outline only) that the width can be changed per wall for layout purposes, then the walls will be selected & changed later to an actual wall with known materials.
i just installed the 2012 autocad on my laptop and everytime i use trim or rotate or anything else the screen just goes black and the computer freezes for a few seconds and then it comes back and tell me that its trying to adjust the program with the monitor but it never ends and it keeps doing the same thing. btw my laptop specs are: windows7 home premium, intel i5, 6gb ddr3, intel HD3000 graphics.

I have a problem understanding how undo marks are added to the undo stack.In the code below a fan of lines are draw in a random location.If you run MTest a few times, the AutoCAD Undo command will remove the fans one at a time.
If you run MMulti to draw 10 fans, the AutoCAD Undo command will remove all the fans in a single step.I want to be able to remove the fans one at a time.I thought that a StartTransaction / Commit pair would act as markers for the undo stack, but this isn't working.
Tested on AutoCAD 2010 VS 2008

View 3 Replies View RelatedI think it'd be so cool to be able to replay your entire undo history of a picture, so you can see and show others how you proceeded on a picture you made. That way, it's never necessary to capture screen video for like 10 hours and stuff..
So first you'd need to add an option to save the undo history (so that you always keep the history from when you started). Then you'd need an option to playback the undo history.
If I have footage in my Video and overlay tracks - how can I make a transition in all (or selected tracks) at the same time.
To clarify I have footage in the main Video track and a couple of overlays, which are ending with the footage in the main video where a transition has to be made. Is there any way that that one transition is making a transition for the main Video track and the (selected) overlay tracks?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a function which removes the filepath from an IDW drawing which is handy when exporting to other formats. Currently it's just used in a batch script so the drawings close without being saved and there is no problem. Now I'm trying to make another macro which will just export the currently open drawing. So I have to undo removing the file path so the drawing is back to it's original state.
Below is the code for removing the filepath from the titlebar. I tried to do the reverse and put <FILENAME AND PATH> back in, however it appears as normal text. Since the title block uses "variables" which update with other properties and I don't wish to lose that adaptibility.

So I either need a way to undo the actions of the subroutine or know how to insert the "variable" which references the file's properties.
I try to do animation rendering by setting up the animation and letting run overnight sometimes. I often get the pop up window telling me that "the "undo" file size has reached its limit - Do I want to increase the file size?" This pauses the rendering until I hit the OK button. How do I get that to stop?

As more structure was added around it I started supressing different elements to suit, now a piece of structure has gone thru element 1 but i dont seem to be able to supress it... is there an easy way to get rid of element 1 without having to redefine the pattern? I am able to select face, during selection is cursor shown as arrow with plus symbol, content menu show correctly zoom and pan commands. Unfortunatelly when this selection is done and message box show the value, the cursor and content menu does not return to correct state. Cursor is still with plus and content menu with zoom&pan. I have found that problem is with messagebox, just before messagebox is shown the cursor and content menu return to correct state , but after messagebox is shown and closed, then cursor and content menu is wrong. Why?
Finally I need it for my addin in C#, is there and better way how to select item or input 2d point?

I need to be able to suppress individual elements of a circular pattern so I can retain the angular orientation while being able to reduce the number of instances. I have found how to suppress the entire circular pattern, but can't seem to get the right terminology to access the elements one at a time.
The code I have to suppress the entire pattern is Feature.InventorFeature("Circular Pattern").Suppressed = True.
I've been trying to use symmetry to simplify a finite element model. Why I see different stress results in these two instances.
Simulation 1: Rectangular Hollow Section, capped at both ends, subject to internal pressure
Simulation 2: Half model i.e. RHS split down the middle lengthwise, with a frictionless constraint applied to the split plane.
Actual problem I want to analyze is a bit more complicated and I was hoping to use symmetry to reduce the processing time?
I'm trying to use ilogic to suppress some individual elements of a pattern but i couldn't find any command that can target component pattern elements. When i try to capture its current state with the right click menu it does nothing.
I can of course suppress the part within the element but then it doesn't update the BOM.
when i try to open my 2011 inventor program which ive been running for months now i get an error message. and the program refuses to open. "Error in Inventor Undo Folder: Please Make Correction" any ways to fix this so i can get back to work. and i should add that i am not a computer genius im a furniture designer.
View 9 Replies View Relatedwe've made a part from an assembly and put the stress analysis to the test. Unfortunately the analysis doesn't complete it's run, because of an error:
"An error occurred while creating the finite element mesh. The cause may be invalid geometry or features that are extremely small in comparison to the overall dimensions of the part. To fix the problem, please suppress those problematic features or use standard meshing method."
We can't change the thickness of the sheet-metal, because it's a model which comes from a supplier with a different cad-program. And supressing any features isn't possible, because it's a base-solid.
But where can we change it to the standard meshing methode? The program is recently re-installed on my computer, the settings haven't changed since it's been installed. We can't find the feature.
I am trying to render animations and I am still getting the "Undo file size exceeded" message in the middle of my animation. I have tried every option I could find to get it to stop but it keeps happening. Some of the animations take over an hour and I don't want to sit in front of the computer waiting to click ok to increase the file size.
I've maxed out the size in the settings at 4096K but it still gives me the message at 2048 and 3072.
Below is my test procedure for "Create Curve Mesh Element" by Inventor simulation 2012.
1. I made a box 100(W)X100(D)X20(H) with 2xR20 (mm) fillets at the opposite edges.
2. I copied a box I made for making 2 type mesh.
3. I made mesh on the box without "Create Curved Mesh Elements" option.
Node number: 2374
Element number: 1365
4. I made mesh another model with "Create Curved Mesh Elements" option.
Node number: 2374 (same number, not increase)
Element number: 1365
Mesh shape is different(please refere attachiment jpeg file).
I think that "Create Curved Mesh Element option" is not for making second tetrahedron elements.But I cnanot the true porpose of "Create Curved Mesh Elements" option.For only P method, not H method?

Is there a way to get a list of constraints that exist between two parts in an assembly?
It will take forever to go through each and every constraint for one of the parts, checking the "Other Half" of each just to find all constraints between to specific parts.
I have a question about getting CoG of my assembly. The only problem is that i only need 2 parts (the rest are just dummy solids with 'default material'.
When i control select two parts, right click and go 'iproperties' - the physical tab doesn't let me determine CoG of the two parts combined.
I want the user to have a set of occurrences selected and click a button to run code on them but I can't seem to find a method of getting the names or anything else on the actively selected parts.
