I am working in Inventor Professional 2008, using the harness package. I have a few white wires in the model I am trying to print off as a nailboard and in a routing diagram. The problem is simply that white wires do not print well on white paper. I can print pdfs using "print all colors as black" but then all greyed out components print poorly.Is there a way to print an outline on these wires, for example?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 2 pipes with connectors on each end...How do i make a realistic shape wire to go from each connector....there will be a wire between a connector on 1 end of the pipe and it goes to a connector on the end of the other pipe....would this be constructed in the assembly and saved as a part to a folder....also can the wire be made as a part and then placed in the assembly...no pipe and run as would prefer to either make as a part or create in the assembly and save as a part

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter I create a wire it will not be displayed as a rendered wire. There is no indication of error in the wire (to sharp angle) and this is also happens for a straight wires with no turns.
I have made multiple revisions of an assembly and in older reviosions I can make the wires and they are shown as rendered. But in the latest revision it is not possible. In a older revision I had a harness assembly than deleted it could this have any affect?
Also is there any setting that hides rendered wires that I might have turned on accidently?I have a student licence and the assembly has about 700 parts if that makes any difference.
Is there a relatively easy way to root multiple wires along the same path, with a predefined distance between them so there's no interference between them? Something similar to the attached picture... or packed even closer together.
I got in a hole lot of trouble to get the result from the picture and I was hoping that there is an easier way... a workaround... something.
Using segments is not an option (only maybe as an intermediary step) but in the end I have to have all the wires as separate entities.
Seems like Inventor ignores wires and cables when calculating mass of the whole assy.

I'm using Inventor PRO 2012 64-bit.
First we imported an ".igs" file to inventor, which produced "wires". Then by promoting the wires it produced a 3-d sketch.
The model is in one plane and 2-D, and we are trying to use Ansys 2-D analysis, but in-order to do so it needs to be in a 2-D sketch.
The model is too large to be redrawn on a 2-D plane, how to convert it to a 2-D sketch
For some reason, when I am plotting on some drawings, the HP Designjet 5500 is printing out a tan background. I've tried copying and pasting into a new drawing, which has fixed it before, but not this time. I'm using Autocad 2008. 20120919_143304.jpg

However, now when I print drawings or make pdfs, they are in color instead of black and white. And the pdfs in color now copy in such a way that some of the layers appear faded, are very light, and are difficult to read. How do I get the prints and pdfs back to black and white, with no color?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a simple model of two desk units. I also have a large rectangular area under them with a carpet texture applied. The desks each have two textures/materials applied. I am rendering to a viewport at 640x480, with shadows on and "high" quality. I have 4 point light sources in the model. When I render to viewport, it all looks great. But when I plot or plot preview, all of the detail/textures/materials in the horizontal surfaces are gone and it plots as completely white in those areas and also shows it white in plot preview.
Attached are two images. RENDER A is a screenshot of the correct image rendered on screen and RENDER B is a screenshot of the plot preview screen showing the white areas (which is also how it really prints).
How can I print in black and white while using true colors? I've tried the monochrome ctb, monochrome stb, looking for solutions in these forums, etc. The std 255 colors are not a problem. It is only when I use a true color. When I tried the monochrome stb setting, the fill color on my multileaders did not change.
Also, in paperspace, with viewports that had solid objects in them, I used to be able to print and have hidden lines removed without them showing up that way in the viewport. (used 2008 at the time and have jumped from that to 2012)
I seem to remember that the was a variable command that controlled this but I can't remember it.
whenever I am moving an inverter or module shape around, I always have to either shift those wires or extend them to some extent.
I was wondering, like Google SketchUp, can AutoCAD have a follow extension mechanism for a fix point with an fix object?
I would love so that only one wires extends. So I am just looking at a linear expansion for now. I am not looking for complex 3D expansion... I just want 90° lines to extend:

I have a trouble with my photoshop background and i don't know what...
When i create a document in my photoshop cs3 with white object or white background, when i print on my laser or ink jet, it print with maybe 1 or 2 percent of red...i try in rgb or cmyk but it's the same thing.
I am trying to print a white under base film for my image to screen print on a dark shirt. I read it is best to choke the image so it is a little smaller and the white does not peep through once the color is placed on top. Is there an easy way to create this base image? I am having a hard time copying or duplicating and making it smaller.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have PS CS6 and like to do B & W prints. I print them on my Canon MX870 printer (4 color printer) ... they turn out quite nice. VERY Black & White. Recently, I started doing B & W with a small highlight of color... like a photo of my daughter and her friends with just her red shoes in color.
The Black and White is now not truly B & W... it is slightly tinted ... purplish. I have tried adjusting the levels and contrast but it only changes the tinting to other tints... bluish, redish, etc. I use cmyk 300dpi (typical of what commercial print shops would use). Still no success. Or am I stuck having to send my photos to a printshop for printing?
I'm having a problem printing out a black and white photo. This is the first time I'm tring to print from PSP 3. When the photo is printed out, instead of looking like what I did in PSP 3, it looks like it was imbossed and black pencil. I have done a search and played around with PSP 3 with no luck..Even reinstalled PSP 3. If I go to the photo file, both the saved and the original, and print it directly, they comes out near perfect, except for a purple tint in both. You do not see the purple tint in the photo when in PSP 3 or the saved file untill it is priinted out.

The attached file shows the front castle of a ship with two ranges of windows on its white wall. I am trying to print this image with a laser printer on a transparent film while keeping the original white of the wall, letting only the windows inside their black frame transparent (the first two window frames of the upper row on starboard have been filled with a greyish tone merely as an experiment) - as if that transparent were projected on a dark surface rather than on a white one.
since the addition of all colours (i.e. 255) is equal to white and therefore to transparency (or to the absence of colours), and since transparency will show as, well, transparency when printed on a transparent film, how can white - in this case the white background of the wall - still be added to the transparent film while keeping only the windows inside their frame transparent?
All my attempts with a variety of painting tools (including those of Mypaint) and profiles failed. Should this be done with two different layers instead?

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor my business card design I have white text overlapping an area of very white grey- causing readability issues (insufficient contrast). It looks great apart from this one problem, so I still want to keep my white text and light background and fix it by separating the text and background with a darker drop shadow..
First, I added a black drop shadow to the text- but this was not enough to increase readability (text still looked faded on background as drop shadow was too subtle at 85% opacity, 0.04" blur) so I added a drop shadow to my drop shadow (100% opacity, 0.02" blur + 18% opacity, 0.02" blur). This produced a heavier drop shadow effect for my text as desired but, for some reason, the text came out slightly grey in print (offset run). It seems the drop shadow somehow got printed over the text itself to some extent- turning the white text somewhat grey (and so not looking as clean as intended).
How could this dropshadow bleed into the text happen? Is it to do with the fact I added a drop shadow to my drop shadow? I would have thought that, even then, the text should entirely overlap all of the drop shadow as the text is the top layer in the group.
What can I do to ensure that drop shadow does not print over text in any way in future? Do I have to stick to only one layer of dropshadow-or is there something else I'm missing?
I am looking to create an animation of a box being lowered through an opening into a cylindrical vessel. The box is held/manipulated by three wires (one each side that each branch/split into pairs, and a single central wire) from hoists on beams above. There are connectors between the wires/hoists.
There are points where a couple of wires are taught and the other is loose. I also need to add a flexible rubber pipe to the box and hang this over the opening and out of the vessel.
To animate this properly should I be looking at kinematics (a topic I have not looked at yet) rather than just key framing?
How do I animate the wires stretching (reeling out from the hoists)?
i have seen this tutorial which tells you how to create sparks between wires.
i have a wires graphic ready to go but i have photoshop 7 whereas the tutorial is aimed at 5.5. i cant seem to get this effect to work. for instance in step 2 Dan says:
