AutoCAD Inventor :: Create PDFs With 3D Model Embedded?
Jan 20, 2012I'd like to create pdf's with the 3D model embedded. This could then be viewed, rotated, and Zoomed.
Tetra4D is the software to do this as Adobe X no longer supports it.

Is it possible to create a 3D PDF from Inventor 2012? Or is there a third party software that is needed to do this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI create vector drawings in Microsoft Office Visio and I need to be able to convert raster images from PDFs into vector images compatible with Visio. I've tried tracing the bitmap with various options but the line quality produced when saved to a .svg file is not adequate for our needs. Images from a PDF that are not embedded work perfectly by saving to a .svg file, but the bitmap comes in as one unusable entity. Simply put, can X6 convert embedded bitmaps from within PDFs into vector files?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using Autocad 2010, and have never had this problem before. Working in plan, the traced linework over 2 xref pdfs (both on locked layers) keeps moving in model space either when I'm performing another command on different linework or when I regen. The layers that keep moving are all locked, and do the same when they're frozen. There is no consistency to where they move--usually within the same screen view--so it makes me wonder whether I xrefed these files into a different plane? They're not georeferenced though.
Or is this just a bug? I thought the file may be corrupted so started a new one, still same issue.
What I'm trying to accomplish is a way to create a kit (assembly of loose parts) that will be used in more than one product model. Each top level assembly (product model) will require the parts to be constrained in different locations but all of the components in the kit will remain the same.
Is the iAssembly tool the right tool to use for this?
the easiest way to create a vector image of a model in inventor? I also have other Autodesk tools at my disposai (Product Design Suite).
We have creating a catalogue of company parts, and they require nice clean crisp images for the brochure. They only seem to be able to create raster images.
I could not get the code to work for me, and I am not a programmer or pretend to be. I need to take a model and create a dwg with ilogic. It only needs to be one flat pattern view and one isometric view.
I also need it to have center marks for all the holes and I need to add certain dimensions.
I am trying to print of about 50 sheets of cross sections. When i go to an individual sheet and plot the pdf comes out fine, when i try to publish through sheet set, it put the table on top of the section view.

Both are creating the PDF with acroplot . I am using autocad Civil 3d 2013.
I have attached both PDF's.
Is it possible to use an Autodesk Inventor .iam (assembly) to generate a file containing only the visible/exterior surfaces of that .iam?
My employer has a requirement that, in certain situations, only data without internal features/details can be supplied to customers. In this case, we only want the customer to be able to view the assembly & not see the internal features of individual parts.
When I open a pdf produced using dwgtopdf I get a warning from Adobe Acrobat that it "cannot find or create the font 'Arial-Black'. Some characters may not display or print correctly".
Looked at the files present within the template when I go to e-transmit and inded, there is no sign of that font, but the title block displays perfectly well.
Checked my fonts folder in control panel and while there is an 'Arial Black', there is no 'Arial-Black'.
Is this a problem within ACAD or Adobe Acrobat. The problem has only appeared over the last few weeks.
I am trying to create a Treeview of Model tree which displays parts assembly...etc My code is working well and i am able to get the tree view, but the problem is how can i count the quantity of parts/assemblies and display as consolidated. For instance this below snapshot shows my treeview.
This above snapshot shows my output
Here besides all parts/assemblies i get Semi-Colons and Numbers rather than consolidated view For this part in fig
153049 QSL.1_8.8:1
153049 QSL.1_8.8:3
153049 QSL.1_8.8:3
153049 QSL.1_8.8
and Quantity as 3 separately.
I use PhotoShop 7.0 and PageMaker 7.0 to do graphics (I'm old).
I need to buy software that will create high-quality pdfs from my PageMaker files.
Is there any way you can access an AutoCAD file embedded in an IDW by using VBA?I have an IDW with about 100 sheets; it would like to control which file is embedded in each of the sheets.
The best would be to use linked files but I do not know how to make certain files visible on certain sheets.
I have an Embedded spreadsheet in a .ipt file. I want to access the data in it using iLogic, but i keep getting this error...
GoExcel: 3rd Party worksheet not found: "3rd Party:Embedding 1", Sheet: "Sheet1"
Do I need to declare the spreadsheet somehow, or is there something else I missing? This is the only code I have in the rule...
i = GoExcel.FindRow("3rd Party:Embedding 1", "Sheet1", "ID", "=", 1
I have used the command "insert object" to embed an excel sheet. I can see in the modelbar the new stage called "3rd Party", expanded I also see "Embedding 1". If I use edit I can see my excel sheet. So far good.
My next task is to create a Rule to recall cells in the sheet. I use the command CellValue (embedded) to pick my cell value. My problem is that then I close my rule-editor I got the error:
Error in rule: Rule0, in document: Box test.ipt
GoExcel: 3rd Party worksheet not found: "3rd Party:Embedding 1", Sheet: "Sheet1"
It seems like I´m not able to recall my cellvalues.Whats the difference between embedding a excelsheet as above or use the add link command i Parameters window?
When inserting object - xls file, i found trouble, max. number of column i see in dwg file is 22.
Creating table using table - general require long time for set up every column (different with)
We need to be able to print each sheet to it's own PDF (preferably automatically naming the pdf in the process). I can't seem to find a way to do it in Inventor itself or the Task Scheduler. I imagine it's something that needs to be present in the PDF driver, but CutePDF and Acrobat Printer don't seem to have that option. Is there one that does?
Surprisingly, AutoCAD and Revit BOTH have this ability. Inventor seems to be the only Autodesk packaging lacking the ability.
I have an embedded Excel file in my dwg file. I'd like to make it visible on the drawing. On the drawing though, it only displays however many rows existed when the sheet was inserted.
For example, when I clicked "Insert Object", only 1 row existed in the Excel sheet. I've now added 10 more rows, but still only the first row is visible.
How can I make the table on the drawing display the full view of the Excel file?

Is it possible to open an embedded XL sheet with iLogic ?
I tried "GoExcel.Open("3rd Party:Embedding 2", "ENTREE DES DONNEES"), but nothing happen...
We have standard port details in JPG format that we frequently embed into a drawing via Manage -> Insert Object -> Create From File.
We've discovered that the JPG image does not display in Inventor View (which our co-workers use to view/print drawings).
I would like to use the plot function to generate 3 individual PDFs from a 3-sheet idw in Vault.Requirements:
1. Each PDF needs to be named after a certain field that is already populated in iProperties
2. All PDFs need to be output to a fixed folder in Vault
I have tried some iLogic codes and indeed it is possible to do that from within Inventor. But should we need to print a large number of idws that will be a nightmare for me.
For Creating my own templates i want to use iLogic and embedded Excel-Spreadsheets. The embedded Sheet has its own data, but i want to create a rule to refresh the data from an external Excelsheet.
For now i use the following rule:
For I = 65 To 90 '65=A 90=ZBuchstabe = Chr(I) GoExcel.CellValues("3rd Party:Embedding 1", "Platte", Buchstabe & "1", Buchstabe & "999") = GoExcel.CellValues("G:KonstruktionVorlagenMaterialgrunddaten.xlsx", "Platte", Buchstabe & "1", Buchstabe & "A999")Next I
it works well, but wont insert a new single-sheet or refresh formats, i have to add the same code for each sheet. And its REALLY slow.
Is there a possibility to refresh or replace the whole embedded file via a simple iLogic-rule?
How to use an embedded cursor (mycursor.cur) via the SetCursor command under user interaction events. I can use built in cursors just not able to get it working with my resource.
Sample below throws an error type mismatch.
oInteraction.SetCursor(CursorTypeEnum.kCursorTypeCustom, My.Resources.mycursor)
I have set the build action of the cursor to be embedded.
Am trying to convert this pump into solid ?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy problem today is that I made a Model of a Part of a ship using surfaces rather than solids because the engineer thought it would be easier to bring into ANSYS program for analysis but he is now having a problem with it and I am looking into converting my current model to solid. I can do it but the method I thought of using is quite long winded and we are working to a tight deadline.
1.open up the surface part
2.use "Offset/Thicken"
3.any clashes between parts make a sketch and cut away.
the problem is the amount of plates I have and the time it takes to sort them out.
I have some code (below) that will open my embedded excel spread sheet and it works great. Now I need the code to save and close the excel file after it’s been open. The embedded excel spreadsheet pushes some stuff the model and does a couple other thing. So all I really need is for the excel file to open, save, and close when the rule is run.Imports Inventor.
OLEDocumentTypeEnumExcelApp = CreateObject("Excel.Application")Dim ExcelFile As ReferencedOLEFileDescriptorExcelFile
=hisDoc.Document.ReferencedOLEFileDescriptors.Item(1)ExcelFile.Activate(kEditOpenOLEVerb, ExcelApp)
I have a MultiValue Parameter that I want to populate using a named range from an embedded excel spreadsheet. I would like an iLogic solution if possible because I need other people to be able to understand the code without too much difficulty.
One of the sample snippets given allows access but not if the excel file is embedded.
'GoExcel.NamedRangeValue("Part_Width")
The code below works but not when using a named range.
' Load bearing housing typesMultiValue.List("parameter1") = GoExcel.CellValues("A1","A20")
Is there something I'm missing? I was hoping to use something like below
' Populate MultiValue Parameter from excelMultiValue.List("parameter1") = GoExcel.CellValues("3rd Party:Embedding 4", "Sheet", "myNamedRange")
I have a .dxf model and I need the file in .ipt format as a 3d model. (I got the file from a website)
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe received a surface model from a vendor that I have patched up as best I can, it still has one hole that I can find that I haven't been able to fill. Ideally we would like to have a solid model, but I'm running out of time to get this done and the surface model we have would be good enough for our purposes IF I can get the yellow surface tangent lines to turn off or change their color to black.
I've attached a jpg of the surface model with the yellow lines and uploaded the model here: [URL].....
From all our parts of an assembly we made 1 IDW with multiple sheets. Now we want to convert this IDW to PDF's and in such a way that we have one PDF for each sheet, and each PDF files needs the same name as the sheet.
