In the styles my template drawing is set to Standard ANSI, then below are a bunch of styles like Dim and center mark etc.I want to change the precision of my template so that when I bring in a part to the drawing and dimension it. it is at a 3 place decimal.
1. When in style and Standard editor with default standard selected under Standard I am trying to display mass properties in my view label.Select View Preferences tab. View type Base. Next to Display select Edit View Label. When Format Text box pops up in the selection for text type I have two options.
a. Properties - Model b. View Label Properties
2. Inside an IDW file right click on view and select edit view. When Drawing View box pops up there is the option to access Edit View Label next to View Identifier. When Format Text box pops up in the selection for text type at this point there are seven options.
a. Properties - Model b. Properties - Drawing c. Drawing Properties d. Sheet Properties e. Physical Properties - Model f. View Label Properties g. Sheet Metal Properties
Questions 1. Why are ther only two options in S&S Editor?
2. Can I add more options to S&S Editor?
I would like to add mass to my lablel inside certain templates and have it show when I display a views Base view label. Not ot have to maunually add it each time it is displayed.
I read that it's not possible to import a style (styxml file) into the style editor through the API, there is no dedicated command.
However I'm wondering if there's a a way to have the internal name corresponding to the button as we can do for the ribbon buttons (there's a sample code which does this).
So is it possible ot get the internal name of a button inside a dialog box (style editor here) or is it really hopeless to think I can import a style with a macro ?
How do I make a style in the library standard? I made new styles in the library for a revision table and parts list, but when placing them in an IDW I always get the standard tables.
It's not a big deal to change it in the format tab after placement, but when having 50+ sheets/daily its getting annoying.
I have a drawing that can be used to manufacturing purpuses or to normal company ipt, iam, etc., and I want to when opening a new drawing configure it if the designer if it chooses yes in the msgbox change the title bock and the standards in the styles.
started the code like this:
Dim i As Stringi = MessageBox.Show("Vai efectuar o desenho de uma ferramenta ou de um elemento seu?", "Parts List", MessageBoxButtons.YesNo, MessageBoxIcon.Question, MessageBoxDefaultButton.Button1)If i = "6" ThenActiveSheet.TitleBlock = "Alualpha_Ferr"End If
but it gives this error
The parameter is incorrect. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070057 (E_INVALIDARG))
I'm still learning autodesk inventor, I have problem about tolerance. My tolerance more big than my primary dimension. How to edit this text..? or how to reset style editor for factory setting..?
one would think that you could just export the .stm file into hydraflow, make some changes, and import, and all would be fine. when i export, all of the structures in hydraflow come up as drop curb. how can they come in as what they actually are.. aka, when the part i use is a 2x4 box, it should come into hydraflow as a "grate inlet", or a st-mh will come in as a "manhole".
and then likewise, when the changes are made, and its brought back into autocad, they all come in as a "standard" style. except the outfalls, which show as a "standard" style, but come in with a different block, and get a whole new label (outfal - x)
I created a map by using mapwspace and the FDO connections to shp files. Lately, when I have made changes in the style editor such as adding a thematic rule with a feature label, these changes are not "sticking" after the drawing has been saved.
I have deleted the associated idx files but it has not worked.
The drawing is saved at the end of the day but when I open it up the next day, the Style Editor changes are not there. I have been using MAP3D 2013 for over a year but this specific issue has occured only in the past couple of weeks.
Is there anyway for me to check the filtering applied to a parts list (on the drawing) via the API? I looked but couldn't see where to access this information - am I just overlooking where it is stored on the object?
Every time I go into Section Editor while working on my corridor I have to reset my Code Set Style Selection. Its not even like I am exiting and re entering the drawing, just the Section Editor. Is there a specific place C3D looks for that style when you enter the editor?

Having just installed PDS Ultimate 2013 on a Vista-64 machine, I notice while viewing the Wiki files, that the installation installed only a Partial Library of Metric Mold Bases. I wish to install ALL Mold Bases, i.e. Imperial, Metric and Meusburger. I followed instruction per "Mold Design Desktop content Libraries for Autodesk Inventor Professional 2012".
I deleted the existing partial metric idcl file and moved the Imperial.idcl, metric.idcl and meusberger.idcl file into the content center libraries folder. The replacement files are named AI_2012 Inventor Mold Imperial, AI_2012 Inventor Mold Metric and AI_2012 Inventor Muesburger.idcl. All three files are dated 2/8/2011.
Now, am I no longer able to query for ANY mold base or associated parts whatsoever!
How do I go about installing the complete set of Mold Bases and get Moldfow to make queries to all three Mold Base Libraries?
I am working with a template, that doesn't allow me to change the dimension style. In the project the Use Style Library is set to Read/Write. I have created my dimension style, at this point just a copy of the ANSI standard with a text size difference. I went to my template and set that syle as my default, and saved it. Now the fact that it doesn't automatically update the drawing I had alreadycreated is a nuisance, however if I creat a new drawing, the style has reverted to a different standard, that is not even the ANSI default. If I right click a dimension and change the dimstyle to what I saved it does update, but if I try to change the style again it defaults to a random dimstyle, AND changes the style even if I hit cancel. So... the question is how to make the changes stick?
Within the layer style window under the >bevel and emboss >Contour the option displaying images or list of contours is only opening to contour editor.
It's not displaying the contours within my collection I must've tripped off setting for displaying them but I can't find where that setting is, or if it's even available anymore? I don't believe I've used it since CS 3 or4. I'm using CS6 now but contours seems to have changed.
For labels, is the font decided in the general tab under text style or in the text component editor under the format tab? Are there overrides? There seems to be multiple locations for fonts choices when creating a label and I can't find a nice black and white answer.

I am wondering if it is possible to do a style update (or style update check) upon open of a drawing?
The example would be that I have stuff made from way back that the colors/dimension sytles ect dont match the current standard and upon opening a file where they are not current, it would either prompt to update immediatly OR update automatically with no prompting (preferred method).
I am doing a massive amount of updates from old files recently and to save myself 1 - 3 clicks per drawing would be wonderful.
I'm trying to draw standard flat head socket cap screw size 1/4-20 with 5/8 length. I've tried to draw it with the exact dimensions (converted inches to mm) but the head doesn't turn up correctly.
I've done metric screws with dimensions from that site (mcmaster-carr) and they turned out just right.URL....
I created a frame using 150 x 75 BS4 channel section in 2011/12 (can't remember which) however it was created before the BOM length fix (all lengths stated are not necessarily the lengths of the beams). In order to fix this I need to redraw the frame, which is fair enough, however I am unable to find the BSI standard channel section. In fact, BSI has seemed to vanish from my library completely, I can not even place a component from the BSI library.
I have had a look around the C:/Programdata/autodesk/inventor2011(or 12 or 13)/contenetcentre/libraries and have found parker, gost, DIN etc but no BSI. I have not used the frame generator/place component in 2013 yet so no idea if this was from install or not.
i am looking for a resource for models for standard parts....in this particular case a micrometer or something that i can through in an assembly to give a sense of scale.
Is it possible to set up Inventor 2014 so that a new project will already contain custom libraries?
We have several part libraries as well as material/appearance libraries, and I don't want the users to have to select and add each time the start a new project...
The explorer Windows when selecting file from the context menu to bring up the iProperties. Properties window creates a file C:Program FilesAutodeskInventor 2013BinDTCPexe.exe?
As most applies the program DTCPexe.exe to cause property to C:Part.ipt?
If I insert a part with my own work planes in an assembly, I can programatically get the first 3 standard workplanes and also the non standard workplanes.
BUT if I make the part a table based iPart, I cannot find the extra non standard workplanes in the WorkPlanes of the part component definition, just the first standard three (XY YZ XZ).
