Is there a service pack in the pipeline that will allow Inventor 2013 to run on Windows 8.1? It was working fine on 8 but crashes on the loading screen now Ive upgraded to 8.1. Upgrading to 2014 is not an option for me as my professor uses 2013 software and he will not be able to open 2014 files.
View 1 RepliesI recently downloaded the student version of Inventor Professional 2013 (64-bit). I made some parts and ran some stress analysis simulations on the parts. I restarted Inventor after running a simulation and upon the reopen, none of the add-ins on the Environments tab were there and the Add-Ins manager does not open. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the entire program, even tried installing different model years of Inventor; none of the versions load the add-ins and the add-in manager fails to load.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAt work we have recently upgraded to Inventor 2013 Pro, Although Inventor isnt the most widely used program in the company so its hard to find time to do some set up and get it going smooth. My problem is that i am working on a large process plant all done in inventor and the file is quite large. It takes along time to load and is really laggy when inside the model. Now the model is based in my local office's server my question is if i was using Vault would it keep a local copy on my C:// rather than trying to refresh all parts from ther server. If it is a matter that when working with large files using Vault is the better option than i will need to take some advantages
View 3 Replies View RelatedI think that something is not the way it is suppose to be at my ribbon I have a Inventor Studio icon but by defaults is not active (it's grayed out) so in order to turn it on I have to go to add ins and turn Inventor Studio off and than on again and in that way I am able to activate the Inventor Studio button but after that all the buttons in the Rendering Studio tab are inactive so I cannot use them. And I cannot figure out where is the problem. Is it because I am using the student version of the software and it has some kind of limitations on the rendering engine, or it is some kind of malfunctioning of my installation. Everything else is working normally I can modell I can do a rey tracing viewport renders but I cannot run the studio environment interface.

For some unknown reason EVERY time i download inventor 2012 pro the installation fails due to a corrupt file. So i thought (In desperation) i would downlaod the 2013 version and see if it would install. Lucky enough it all installed correctly. So i continue with my work on the 2013 edition, and when i go to save it it tells me, that i will not be able to use this file on previous versions. (Which i need to do). Is there by any chance a way to save files, that are compatible with older versins (Like in Word) ?

I just bought a new pc with windows 7 home premium 64-bit,but I run the program(3ds max design 2012 64-bit) and though it is installed correctly,it doesn't start, it freezes when its starting, any error messages appears.
Is it made to work only with windows 7 professional?(I mean the 7 editions? )can I upgrade and then the program will work fine?

I have Photoshop CS5 32 bit installed on my PC with Vista home premium. I am buying a new PC with 64 bit Windows 7 installed, and it also has the option to upgrade for free to Windows 8 pro. Will my CS5 work on windows 7 and if I take the free upgrade will it work on Windows 8 pro?
Does it matter that CS5 is 32 bit and the new PC will be 64 bit? I don't want to get the free upgrade if it means my CS5 won't work on it, as I am happy wioth CS5 and do not need to upgrade to CS6 yet.
A couple of years ago I bought VS 11.5 and had absolutely no problems with it. Two weekends ago, my computer (Windows XP pro) blew up - I have now installed it (VS 11.5) again on my new computer, which runs Windows 7. When I double click the icon to load it, the following warning box appears:
Cannot initialize the application. The screen resolution is too small to play the video. The screen resolution must be set to at least 1024 x 768. Followed by an "OK" box, which if clicked, gets rid of it.
Clicking START, CONTROL PANEL, DISPLAY, ADJUST RESOLUTION, it tells me that the resolution is 1280 x 960, both of which are greater than the minimum advised.
I just installed PaintShop Pro X4 trial version on windows 8 consumer preview. The installation went fine, however, I cannot start the program. I don't get any error, but it just doesn't start. How can I start using this program on windows 8. I tried it on windows 7, and it works without any issue. but I really like to use it on windows 8.

Where is the setting to enable Single Drawing Compatibility Mode in 2013? It used to be under the system tab in the options and is not there in 2013. Is this option still available?

I had a copy of Inventor 2013; It worked well up untilrecently. I moved some folders on my hard drive, and the program no longer could find the files. I went into options and changed the pathway for any prompt I saw had the former location. Next the part files I am working on are said to be missing. Something about the project location. I tried adding the files through managing the project found in options. Now Inventor says it is unable to open or even recognize the part files saved. Vault: Files are not displayed if opened in Detail view. Must go to the Incon view to display files. Then, switching back to Detail view, file (Vault) status is not shown. If click "Get/Check IN" on file, Vault will crash and shut down. More recently, an HTTP 404: Not Found error appears when clicking on files - may disappear after a wait or clicking on the file repeatedly.
Inventor: Cannot access any files through the Vault tab - Inventor crashes and shuts down. If file opened from Vault instead, it will open and can be saved, checked In/Out.
All of this started a couple of weeks ago shortly after installing Windows Updates. It occurs only on my machine. No other Vault/Inventor user is having any problems. Two IT techs spent a week trying to solve the problem. The only solution was to unistall and reinstall everything including Windows 7. It worked great for a week until another Windows update was installed - now back to the same problems.
This morning I somehow changed the way the command icons are displayed, so how can I restore the command icons back to the default display. I've tried to figure out where the setting is for the way the icons are displayed, but I haven't been able to reset it back to the default setting.
Here's what the display got changed to, that I want to change back to the default setting.
Just installed 2012 Pro last week and tried to run FEA today. Everything else is running fine. Started with existing model and had this error. Went to a simple part with rectangle sketch 6x1x.125thk and still receive error. Found multiple issues with mesher errors in forum. So I removed all Autodesk products, cleaned registry, turned off antivirus and reinstalled software and SP1 and still receive error.

When trying to link to excel file get error "Not Implemented". Have tried the registry 'fix' - does not work. Need to get these links working to drive models. This same Excel version works fine for Solidworks which inks perfectly with no issues whatsoever. Inventor has been a problem for 2011,and now 2012 - still not working.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI´ve started at a school which is using autodesk inventor 2010, but on my computer I have autodesk inventor 2012, and I can´t find the way to open the homework I do at home on the school computers.
It is supossed that my inventor 2012 saves the files in 2010 format as I can read on the settings, but when I open it on the 2010 in shows me an error message about that it´s not possible open this file. Also I´ve tried to save as 2007 format, but it can´t open it.
I am looking for any example to create an addin compatible between versions of inventor and also compatible win between 32 and 64bit.
Today I know create all separate. Thereby generating 4 different files.
Example:

We currently use a Gestetner 3227 B/W printer as a system printer and have experienced consistent print problems while plotting CAD drawings. We now have the opportunity to try to avoid print problems with a new printer.
We currently have Autodesk Inventor 2011 software (but only use the Mechanical Desktop feature for 2D & 3D), a Widows XP operating system and print to 8-1/2 x 11 and 11x17 papers only.
1) Does Autodesk have a list of recommended or compatible "Printers" that I can be directed to?
2) Is there a specific question, feature or requirement that the office manager should ask about the printer to assure compatibility?
So far, when asked if the printers are Autocad compatible, the vendors claim that their printers "should be compatible" or that they need further details about the autodesk product without being able to specify the type of details they require.
I'm running into a file conversion issue at work. I use Inventor 2008 and i need to have my assembly miodels analyzed by stress engineering via Pro/E Wildfire.
I've tried converting the assembly file to .iges and .step. However, the assemblies are jumbled in the conversion. All the parts are there, but the constraints are not. In the past, the assemblies have been small enough that the stress engineer was able to reassemble the parts in Pro/E. This current project, however, is much to large to do so.
If I were to purchase Inventor 2013, could I save the files with the Pro/E native file extensions directly?
