AutoCAD Inventor :: Opening New Files In Old Programs?
Oct 30, 2013My school uses Inventor 2013 but I have 2014 at home. I dont have any complicated files but I cannot open 2014 files in 2013. How do I do that?

There is a process bar which moves very slowly, and a Cancel button.
If i hit Cancel the dialog box goes away and my file loads right away in what ever program I'm using.
My request is: How do i get this stupid box to pop up all the time, when i'm not even wanting to use PSPX3?
Lightroom :: Scrambling Raw Files - Affected Raw Files Open Fine In Other Programs?
Mar 27, 2014After many years of using LR this is the first time I've encountered this issue (see 1st screenshot below). LR is scrambling my files. The affected raw files open fine in other programs, including adobe photoshop cc (see 2nd screenshot).

I opened the HelpIds.xml file in the Inventor Bin folder and set Use Online="0" and also copied another set of files into c: programs autodesk inventor2013local help and double clicked the tutorial_files.ipj file located there.

The same files open, view and print fine with Inventor View.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Opening Files With 2014 As Default?
Jul 17, 2013I am having an odd issue with the windows default for opening files for Inventor. I previously had the full Autodesk 2013 software suite. A couple of months ago I did the upgrade and installed the Autodesk 2014 software suite.
My issue is now when attempting to open files the default is to open them in Inventor 2013 (still installed on my machine).
I went through the windows default programs options and browsed/selected the Inventor 2014 .exe application. However, this does not add the 2014 application to the list as it seems 2013 over rides it.
I tried to manually changing .ipt/.iam/.stp etc. file types from Inventor 2013 to Inventor 2014, yet am still unable to have the 2014 application added to the potential list of default programs to open with.
One solution would appear to be to un-install the 2013 suite, is there any other way to fix this problem? It is nothing crucial, yet very annoying.
another way that I can get the default program altered to use Inventor 2014? I have attached pictures showing my steps of attemping to change the file association for a .stp file. However, this does not work. I even brought this issue to my company's IT perssonnel and they were unsure.

Jan 13, 2012 I click the Inventor icon on the desktop to open Inventor, I click the Vault tab and then click "Go to Vault", the vault opens. I open a file to look/modify it. I then click another file to open it also and it opens in a new Inventor window. The same as windows explorer does when you open another web page and it opens in a new window instead of a new tab if you dont have the "Tabbed Browsing: set in options.
I am running Inventor Professional 2012.

After Effects :: CS6 Opening With A Lot Of Alarms Related To Effects Redundancies With Other Programs?
Feb 21, 2013After intalling Premiere pro CS6 and After effects CS6, I installed add-ons for these programs (newblue, boris, prodad...). When I open After Effects it gives me 38 cases of effects (Detail Enhancer, noise Reducer...) redundant in other programs, telling me to get rid of them.
When I check these effects in my programs, they are mainly .aex files, located in Premiere Pro CS6, Adobe Common Plug-ins, NewBlue Video effects collections 1 to 6. Some of them also exist in avid /pinnacle studio programs (my former video tools I still use to close previous video projects) before concentrating in Adobe CS6 suite. I don't know what to remove in a safe way. Premiere pro CS6 doesn't worry about redundancies ! Only After Effects...
AutoCAD Inventor :: 2011 - Error Unhandled Exception When Opening Files
Dec 7, 2012I have succesfully installed Autodesk Inventor 2011 (Student License) on my Windows 7 (64-bit) operating system without any errors. I can open Inventor 2011, but when I try to open a new or existing file, Inventor suddenly closes and the 'Autodesk Inventor Error Report'-window opens, giving the following error:

When I go to my project folders and try to open any inventor file, the following message appears:
"Inventor.exe needs to register with he operating system and the following programs (Explorer) are running and may
prevent registration from succesfully completing. Autodesk recommends terminating the offending processes to ensure proper registration. Terminate these processes before continuing with the registration?"
If i cick 'Yes', the problem remains.
I've tried reinstalling, following the instructions carefully (installed as administrator), without success. I installed both service packs. I keep having the same problems, while in the past, it has been working perfectly, but I lost it because of hardware problems, which are now resolved.

Lightroom :: Associating Lrcat Files To 3.3 - Default Programs Option In Control Panel Didn't Work?
Dec 19, 2010So you know what system I have, I use a laptop running Windows 7 64bit, with a dual core processor and 4GB RAM. It's a very capable machine and I don't usually have a problem using LR on it.
After installing LR 3.3 over 3.2 I experienced a problem whereby the PC would not recognise which program to use for opening the lrcat catalog files. Using the Default Programs option in Control Panel didn't work as Windows wouldn't accept Lightroom as the default program and kept suggesting I open the catalog using Adobe Reader instead.
I seem to remember having an issue with the 3.2 update as well but that was simply the icon for file type being missing (showing a default unknown file type icon).
Anyway, resolved the problem but had to resort to downloading a program called Default Programs Editor (http:[url]...... to correct the problem. Am thinking next upgrade, I will uninstall LR completely before installing the update, just to be sure.
Illustrator :: Linked PSD Files Not Found When Opening AI Files Via Shared Folder
Mar 17, 2013My main user folder on the iMac is set to be shared (read/write, including all enclosed files) with my MacBook Pro. The job is a series of one-page InDesign files (they are newspaper advertisements). The IDD files contain a series of Illustrator files with linked PSD files.The idea is that we can both work on the .idd and .ai files in the same folder at the same time.
It's all working fine EXCEPT that whenever an .ai file is opened on the MacBook, Illustrator doesn't know where the linked PSD files are. We can update the link, but when the .ai file is then opened on the iMac and saved, the same thing happens the next time it is opened on the Macbook.
I don't want to embed the PSD files into the .ai files as sometimes I have to modify them and they can be linked to up to 20 .ai files.

May 1, 2012a colleague has 2013 and when he opens a file e.g.. Rob's cottage.dwg it is listed/shown as Drawing 1 in ACAD and if he tries to save he needs to browse to the folder and select the file called Rob's cottage and overwrite.......is this a setting I can't recall?

It was defaulting to the folder at the top of the list on the left side of the dialog box until I deleted the cloud icon. But, there is still a problem with defaulting to the last path accessed.

Aug 16, 2011I have an issue with opening my old drawing files (.dwg). I usually make a backup copy of all the drawings I have done and save them according to the project numbers. The drawings I have difficulty opening were done ages ago and backed up on a CD.
When I was trying to open the drawings from the CD, I received error messages saying "cannot find the specified drawing file. Please verify that the file exists". I also noticed that all of those drawing files are of size between 30Mb and 35Mb. So clearly, there is some data in them.
I also tried to do copy and paste from the CD to my local machine but to no avail. It said the file may be corrupted or something. I do not know if this is to do with losing path or what.

I have all of particular files that are referenced, however i cannot open the main file and have them load in 2013. I also cannot click reload or even detach and then reattach them. Nothing happens. I have tried several things with no luck. Second, opening a DWG file over the network seems very slow, what could cause this? Nov 12, 2013Since upgrading the server in our office Autocad 2013 is having trouble opening files. When I attempt to open a file the progress bar gets to about 85%, a "not responding" message comes up for about 15-20 seconds, and then the file opens. Two workstations in the office have AutoCAD 2013, one has 8GB RAM and Windows 7 64 bit, the other has 16GB of RAM and also a WIndows 7 64 bit OS. Neither PC had issues opening files before the new server went in, and neither PC is having problems with any other network program. Is there somewhere within the program or in Autocad's registry entries that might still be pointing to the old server? I have tried the following, Firewall has been turned off, VP has been disabled, repair has been run on the program (through programs and features in the control panel). I have email support through Autocad and sent them an email this morning, but have yet to receive a response.
