I have installed Building Design Suite Premium 2012 and i can´t find the metric libraries or metric templates for any of the 3 revits.
Any of you know how to do it???
I have one problem like conversion in this project involving things are converting total imperial dimensions in to metric while converting all the dimensions required in single precision like 15/16'' as .9375 mm but he need approximate value like 1 . I have large assembly how to maintain over all dimensions and how to change internal dimensions in simple ways.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have changed my settings in all of my templates to metric. I create a new assembly, add the part (yes, it is set to metric), I now create my first new part in the assembly. When I start to sketch it changes back to inch. How do I set it so it stays metric? This is Autodesk Inventor Professional 2012.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have encountered a problem with the Tube and Pipe styles.
As you can see, I have a rack assembly with a custom tube and pipe style. A wire as a tube in orange, and a tube support in white. Both have their seperate colorations at a style in the tube and pipe styles editor
When placing the rack assembly into the main assembly, it reverts to the coppor coloration I changed from the original style.
Steps I've taken:
Exported the styles .xml and Imported the styles into the master tubeandpipe.iam
Imported the user created .xml styles into the main assembly file nothing seems to work
I want to be able to control the location/position of a component in an assembly. This is easy enough through the iProperties/Occurrence tab and then adjust the location of the X,Y, and Z offsets. Is this possible using iLogic? I have been unable to find a function to access via iLogic. Ultimately I am trying to translate a component about an axis not a pattern.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on a assembly where a cable wrapped around a drum is animated to rotate with the drum, and there is a longer cable coming off of the rotating cable wrap, this longer piece goes down to another cable on a roller assembly. I have edited the assembly to work without the actual cable drum and without the roller assembly ( I wasnt allowed to share those models ) There are now two cylinders in place of the cable drum, a Grounded center to hold everything in place, a Rotating center which is animated so the wrap can rotate.
My problem is when the part named "Drum to Roller" is a lofted cable with angled ends to meet the "Drum wire wrap" at one end and it meets the "Radius cable ends" at the other end. I need the "Drum to roller" to stay constrained to the "radius cable ends" as well as the "drum wire wrap" ... and after being constrained still animate.
I have set up the animation and you will see that the "Drum wire wrap" is animated to keep the end vertical , the animation is set up to look like the "drum wire wrap' is un-raveling cable and the "drum to roller" is to be what un ravels.
I need to find a way so that the "drum to roller" translates down and over , staying constrained to the "drum wire wrap".. You will see that so far it does not.
I have attached two links below they include the two halfs of my assembly, place all the files in the same folder so you wont have to search for them manually.

ilogic for converting dimensions imperial to metric form in sketch, part and assembly level
I have one task in this total models(parts and assemblies) having imperial dimensions but customer wants total dimensions in metric form with rounded value.
mean while all the dimensions directly convert to metric form dimensions are having many decimal places but customer wants ronded value like for example <1.5 is 2 and >1.5 is 1 like this. one more example is 2.56 is 3 and 2.46 is 2 like this.
Al my projects, settings and templates use the Metric system.
When i open the material physical properties i see the Imperial System.
How can i change this ?
I would like a few rules to be triggered once the new drawing template is opened.select sheet size, I have been given a rule that already works, basically the rule selects a border and title block based on sheet size selection.
trigger = iTrigger0iLogicForm.Show("BorderChange", FormMode.Modal)iLogicVb.UpdateWhenDone = TrueIf Parameter("BorderSize") = "A0" Then ActiveSheet.ChangeSize("A0", MoveBorderItems := True)ActiveSheet.TitleBlock = "MJTD A0"ActiveSheet.Border = "MJTD A0.
[code]....
I would also like a rule to let me annotate in metric or imperial. this is where I require assistance. I am not sure the best way to achieve this rule. My programming is very basic.I have found some links here, but I can't seem to make them work in the drawing environment. Also these rules seems to change the units of an already created .ipt.
Rule #1 Link
Rule #2 Link
I am just looking for a rule to select either .in or mm from the styles library(i think) , before I even place a base view. Regardless of the original units used to make the model.
I need converting imperial dimensions into metric in assembly as weell as part level sketches dimensions.
Any solution for converting all imperial dimensions to metric dimensions in whole assembly constraint level and as well as part level sketch dimensions. Any macros or any ilogic rules?
To convert from imperial to metric multiply the length, in inches, by 25.4 (the number of millimeters per inch).
Example: 3 inches converted to millimeters is 3*25.4 or 76.2mm.
To convert from metric to imperial multiply the length, in millimeters, by 0.03937 (the number of inches in a millimeter). For greater accuracy use 0.03937008.
Example: 100 millimeters converted to inches is 100*0.03937 or 3.937 inches.
I'm new to AutoCAD and have made a 3D model of a specific mounting bracket.
Now that I have the 3D model, I want to 'translate' it to a 2d layout so I can put some dimensions in it and bring the drawing to a local mechanical engineer. Here's the file of the drawing:

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to rotate a database through translate survey database and after I input all of my info (rotation basepoint etc.) it is rotating all of the points no where near where they are suppose to be. I was experimenting with the command a bit using various rotation angles, and it seemed to work at first, but I got out of my drawing without saving and got back in and I tried to do it again using the same rotation base point etc. the location of the points are all out of whack now. Did I do something unintentionally to the points or do I maybe have to re-import the fieldbook?
I thought not saving the drawing would be a safe way to not save any of my translating....
I just came from Civil 3d 2008. I am used to creating a survey network for each "day" of fieldwork I have to process. If I have to move and/or rotate the data from day 1 and begin drawing and then day 2 data comes in from the original coordinate system I would translate the day 2 NETWORK. Now my only option seems to be translate survey DATABASE. How to handle this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to translate by layer Plot Styles instead of layer names? I would like to translate named plot styles from "Style_3" to a specific named plot style in another .stb pen set such as "9-FINE".
I'm trying to update a sheet set where I have many drawing that used color based pen sets. Our current standard is to use style based pen sets. When I convert the color based drawings to style based drawings, I have to use a converted .stb file crated from the .ctb the drawing was originally associated it.
Now, I can leave it like this and it prints fine, but I would like to translate those plot styles so that they will read correctly from the .stb file the rest of the sheet set is using. The reason being is that once all of the drawing use the current standard .stb file, I can use overrides from the Sheet Set Manager and have them all print out in black and white since the overrides themselves use the current .stb standard file.
If there is someway to translate one plot style into another plot style automatcially, disregarding the layer name they're assigned to
Civil 3D 2013
Windows 7 64-bit
Xeon W3550 3.07 GHz
Nvidia Quadro 4000

I am trying to figure out if there is a LISP or autocad add-on to start a library of architectural layers to be translated to our layers. So all I would need to do is hit a toolbar button and the LISP/Program would take a layer from archetects prints that I already added to a database that already knows what layer to change that layer to and so if there are different layers in the CAD drawing I can add them to the database so it will be saved for future layer translations. So once we get the database started I am hoping after awhile I wouldn't have to add any layers since they are already in the database to change the layers too.

I am working on and manipulating the data may need to be done using the translate survey database command in the next couple weeks.
