Apr 17, 2014when I transform my edit into an after effects composition from the premier timeline the text layers all come over as black solids and the text content is lost.
I don't give two hoots as to your no doubt legitimate technical reasons for this, but the bottom line is that it sucks, it's a waste of my time and effort and it just seems like a simple thing that you should have implemented from the ground up when building the dynamic linking between AE and PR.
Is there an expected timeframe for the issue to be addressed?
Just to explain my typical workflow a little, I'm an editor/motion artist, so it's very frequent I'll lay out all my picture assets and text objects on a video edit timeline alongside vo and music, and once I'm happy with the flow I move the timeline over to Ae to commence animation for tv commercials, political spots, advocacy work, whatever.
Illustrator Scripting :: Use Of Data Set To Translate Text In Files?
Apr 29, 2011What would be the best strategy on the usage of data set to translate our product packaging. It's quite complex as we have several languages on the same packaging. Moreover, we have different text sources that would require to be translated in different sets of languages.
I have already looked into the data set and I tried to get familiar with it. How to create the data set and how to name the different variables knowing that there are different source texts for a particular region (region means a set of languages) and other texts for another region... The idea is to export this into one XML file with well identified elements that can be split with a tool, sent for translation according to their region then merged back into one single file to be imported back into illustrator

It seems that the formatting such as bold, italic and so on is not exported into the data set which is quite embarrassing.

Jul 12, 2013I'm having problems with the Exchange Extension in PS CC. When I activate the extension and attempt to sign in I get, "Sorry we are unable to log you in. Please try again later." There is, however, no "later." I've tried 3 or 4 times over a 2-week period, always with the same result.

Oct 23, 2012I am using 2013 inventor and revit. I am trying to use this BIM exchange in inventor and I am try to by creating a simple part/family with a couple of different sizes in a table. Everything looks good in inventor as far as the table having different size and when I activate one it changes the part. When I export I am going to tools, BIM exchange, hitting export and away she goes. There is only one export button and everything is pretty simple to understand. So inventor as far as I know, is good.
Now when I bring it into revit as the ASDK format from export with BIM exchange as I am getting is the model with whatever view happens to be active. I am not getting the table nor the parameters I set up for manually changing the family.
I have done some research and noticed that in previous verisons you needed to export the table in inventor after that model, but I am not seeing that option anywhere.
So my question is, am I missing something and you can no longer export parametric parts from inventor to revit, or is there another set I am missing either in the inventor setup or the import into revit?
Photoshop :: Can't Find Plugin In Exchange For CC?
Oct 31, 2013I checked exchange in PS CC and could not find either the russell brown watercolor or oil-paint plugins... I watched the youtube video and it showed them there when he was doing a tutorial, but when I went to look all I found of his was paper textures.
Also, I went to his "Dr. Brown" web site and I found them there, and I downloaed them to my mac, but the installer does not install them.
AutoCAD Map 3D :: Add-ins From Exchange Site Into Vanilla
Mar 12, 2012I'm running several flavors of AutoCAD.I installed some add-ins from the Exchange site into vanilla AutoCAD.Now they are showing up in Map, but each on it's own individual Add-Ins tab.I now have 7 Add-Ins and 1 Plug-Ins tabs.
1 - I didn't think the add-ins would work in anything but vanilla AutoCAD (or is it you just can't access them through Exchange?).
2 - is there a way to get them all on one tab (I tried in the CUI but didn't get it to work)?
Photoshop :: How To Save Actions From Exchange Going
Feb 25, 2009I downloaded quite a few actions from Adobe exchange. When I did, I got the choice to either put them in a folder or open them in CS3. Many I just clicked to open in CS3. It was more time efficient. However, there are many of them, and I was looking specifically for a cartoon effect (which I don't use very often--special project) However, while I was looking, I found many other interesting actions. Anyway, I would like to clean up the actions area and bring up only the ones I use all the time. Generally I hit clear actions or reset actions and then I bring back in the ones I want. I'm afraid to do this because these actions are not listed in the actions folder. What will happen to them? Will they go away? There are quite a few of them, and I don't want to have to redownload them. Since they are not listed in the actions folder, how can I get them listed and make sure that I can access them again?
I have tried creating a set to move them into. That didn't work. I tried highlighting all of them to put in a set. That didn't work. If they are selected, the flyout menu save actions in grayed out. How do I get them into the action folder?

If you aren't familiar with EM, it's a way of managing scripts and other extensions without the copy/paste into folders. You can turn extensions on and off without uninstalling, all from one interface.

Dec 27, 2011AutoCad 2012 can extract pre-selected object attribute data to a database. After editing and manipulating that data in 2012’s native database tool, I want to be able to return the modified data to the objects it originally came from. However, the 2012 database tool returns data to a disassociated label rather than to the source objects.
My application for this functionality is to be able to DI-directionally edit low voltage wiring information like wire numbers, device source, device destination and sheet IDs that are assigned to blocks as visible and hidden attributes.
How to do this in 2012 or with an externally loaded routine? I have tried JTB World’s ACAD-db external process without success.

While I have no problem with this, per se, this will restrict access for the majority of users who cannot access Twitter, Facebook and Youtube at work which is when they are likely to need the content most.

Jun 4, 2011Text is allowed only on the outside of a rectangle shape. The text cursor disappears when I try to enter it into the rectangle and when I place it on the edge of the rectangle, it rurns into a slanted "A" and allows texting on the border of the rectangle. AutoCAD 2013 installed as expected but I can not run the Flash based introduction movies.
I am a new to AutoCAD, have never used to program before and would like to switching the "preferences" (which I can't find) to a better browser like Google Chrome.
Suggestion for Autodesk: Please dump IE in favor or propper browsers. IE has never and will never work properly.
In conclusion: How can I get the Flash videos to work. Where do I register the software?
Because of the above issues, I've installed AutoCAD 2013 on my iMac and everything is running as expected. I am more of a Linux/OS X user and have limited experience with Microsoft products.

I know layer translation command is available but every time I have to select what the layers translate to. It would be nice if there was a way to add the new architect layers into a database so when we run the lisp or program the layers will automatically change to our layers we use.

Jan 8, 2014I am trying to rotate a database through translate survey database and after I input all of my info (rotation basepoint etc.) it is rotating all of the points no where near where they are suppose to be. I was experimenting with the command a bit using various rotation angles, and it seemed to work at first, but I got out of my drawing without saving and got back in and I tried to do it again using the same rotation base point etc. the location of the points are all out of whack now. Did I do something unintentionally to the points or do I maybe have to re-import the fieldbook?
I thought not saving the drawing would be a safe way to not save any of my translating....
