But in 2014 it is gone. Can not find it in the application options. How can I change it?
how to change default units to metric for inventor2013? Now I have them set as imperial.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just downloaded Revit 2014 and I can change my project units to metric from imperial but all my families are still in imperial, I was wondering how to change those to Metric too.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI would like a few rules to be triggered once the new drawing template is opened.select sheet size, I have been given a rule that already works, basically the rule selects a border and title block based on sheet size selection.
trigger = iTrigger0iLogicForm.Show("BorderChange", FormMode.Modal)iLogicVb.UpdateWhenDone = TrueIf Parameter("BorderSize") = "A0" Then ActiveSheet.ChangeSize("A0", MoveBorderItems := True)ActiveSheet.TitleBlock = "MJTD A0"ActiveSheet.Border = "MJTD A0.

I would also like a rule to let me annotate in metric or imperial. this is where I require assistance. I am not sure the best way to achieve this rule. My programming is very basic.I have found some links here, but I can't seem to make them work in the drawing environment. Also these rules seems to change the units of an already created .ipt.

I am just looking for a rule to select either .in or mm from the styles library(i think) , before I even place a base view. Regardless of the original units used to make the model.
Al my projects, settings and templates use the Metric system.
When i open the material physical properties i see the Imperial System.
How can i change this ?
I have a small job in Europe and need to dimension in metric units.
Can I do this and how?
I am using AutoCadLT 2009.
I am having a very strange issue that appears in the Materials editor within Revit 2013 Update Release 3. If I change a surface or cut hatch pattern within the editor, and then attempt to close out of the editor, go to a different material, or apply the change, the hatch dialog pops right back up again, as if I never closed it. I have found two ways to get out of this obnoxious loop:
1. Use the 'esc' key to back out of the materials dialog (unfortunately no changes are saved).
2. Change the color of the hatch - this allows for the changes to be applied etc.
I've tried resetting the UI and reinstalling Revit to no avail.
We have some machines which seem to work in imperial maesurement a dn others which work in metric. it is frustrating when trying to insert a map block that is metric and is inserting into a drawing which is set up as imperial. We have tried using the - dwgunits to change to mm, and then using insunits , insunitsdef source and insunitsdeftarget to 0, this works when the PC is currentyl in use. when shut down and restarted it reverts back to imperial setting.
Am i right in thinking this is something that needs to be done at the software installation stage to make it default to metric everytime?
AutoCAD 2010
Wondering if there's a way to enter imperial units in command line of a metric drawin and have it convert imperial to metric.
IE. I'm constantly taking field site dimensions in imperial and it'd be useful if i didn't have to do conversion every time.
I'm trying to determine what my base units are in any drawing that i'm in (In modelspace). Essentially i want to either just read out the current base unit, or simply determine metric or imperial...or even both. I've been browsing through the forums and i've found a few examples, but nothing too detailed. Here is what i have so far, i have a feeling i'm on the write track. Is it possible to read out the value of "PlotPaperUnits"?
namespace UNITTEST {
public class UNITS {
[Autodesk.AutoCAD.Runtime.CommandMethod("UNITS")]
public void UNITSCOMMAND() {

correct process for animating a Material color change using AutoKey and the Curve Editor.
Right now, I am only able to crudely manipulate the color change by setting the material color change while the AutoKey is active.
The problem is that I am unable to control the speed/time at which the color change actually transpires in the scene.
So far, the only solution I have found, is to set the color change hundreds of frames after the point at which I want the color change to actually occur.
Normally, I would go into the curve editor and and manipulate the keys for the color change to slow or speed up the transition, and to control the exact timing.
However, even though I am able to locate the color change key(s) in the Curve Editor, I either do not know how to properly manipulate them, or I don't know what keys I actually want to manipulate.
I am accustomed to sliding keys left and right and using null keys to hold a key frame (in the this case the color prior to change, which is grey, and then the color after the change, which is fuchsia. however sliding keys around in the curve editor, when I have the "fuschia" key(s) selected (I misspelled the name, so in the file it is "fuschia" not "fuchsia"), does not seem to affect the actually timing of the color change.
FYI, the material that I am attempting to animate is the "fuschia" material in the Compact Material Editor.
When I pull up material it list 1 density but when I go to iproperties that material has a much different density therefore giving an incorrect. mass reading. 2 1/2 days to install 2013.
How do you get the density of a matreial in material editor to be the same as the material density in Iproperties?
or is this another autodesk bug?
what are the uses of the properties in material editor in inventor2013?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThere wasn't a metric template so I created one. I've also been working on setting up Annotative and Dynamic Blocks. Mostly we work in Imperial and so the blocks were drawn in Imperial units.
When I insert some of my Annotative Blocks (Section marks and Labels, etc.), some insert scaled up 25.4 (which is what I want) and others don't.
Take the attached examples:
SOIL-Gravel.dwg is not Annotative. Insunits is set to 1
NOTE-title.dwg is Annotative. Insunits is set to 1.
I notice on my Insert Dialog Box that the Block Unit Factor changes from 25.4 (SOIL) to 1
(NOTE).
For some reason NOTE-Section Cut (Annotative) inserts at 25.4, but the Dynamic Parameters fail to scale up.
I've played around with INSUNITSDEFSOURCE and INSUNITSDEFTARGET, but neither seem to change. I understand they only work if INSUNITS of the block is 0. Which I have also toggled.
Is it possible to obtain Architectural unit dimensioning (ft and inches) in a metric drawing ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI received a .dwg file from S. Korea with dimensions and units all in the metric mm and I need the units to be in feet and inches. Is there a command to switch dimensions and units to imperial feet and inches?
Rather than changing units in command UNITS Inches and Architectural, and SCALE 25.4, is there any other way to switch metric to imperial systems. Scaling somewhat does the trick but, provided dimensions remain in mm.
My Material Editor Appearance preview window is empty as you can see on attached picture.
All read only and custom libraries are represented in this way.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy drawing template title block has a section for estimated weight. This value and overall size is used to determine shipping methods of our products. This value is pulled from the Type->Physical Properties-Model and Property->MASS. There is no option to turn off units. When our clients look at the drawing, they often get confused with lbmass unit. example; When someone asks what the weight of the product is, we dont say it is 1300 pound mass, we say it is 1300 pounds. I have looked around all different forums and found no complete answer or solution to this.
The only thing closest to a solution that I found on this forum is to create a rule that creates a custom iproperty within the model. [URL]........
You then have to create a text field in your title block that populates from that custom iproperty but can only be done when a base view is inserted from a model that has the custom iproperty rule applied.
From what I have tried, you can create a .ipt template to save you from creating that rule to create a custom iproperty each and every time, but to populate the title block field, a user needs to create that text field and draw from that custom iproperty once the base view is set on the drawing.
I also found a way to incorporate mass without units but the information will be put into the parts list. So instead of the weight being "automatically" entered into the title block after inserting base view, I could create a parts list for every drawing. (Not a good solution) [URL].........
One last solution that I found, is there used to be a tool called iProperty Collection[URL]....... that gave users the ability to customize some Inventor functions. One being the ability to change the unit displayed for MASS. I haven't tried using this tool because the last update off the website stated in 2009; says the software is not compatible with Inventor 2009 64bit, since I am using Inventor 2012 64bit, I think this is a dead end.
how can I change Von mises units, MPa ( Default) to another one?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIm on Max 2011 with sp1 and the latest hotfix installed, working with vray 1.5 sp5. When i try to re-set mu material editor (compact not slate) i get the folllowing error message
"Runtime error: cannot assign undefined to material editor slots" and a Macro_media utilities window opens with the following script
macroScript clear_medit_slots
enabledIn:#("MAX", "VIZ")
category:"Medit Tools"
internalCategory:"Medit Tools"
ButtonText:"Reset Material Editor Slots"
tooltip:"Reset Material Editor Slots"

I'm not a scripter but it seems that there is no material defined to place into the slots on re-set. I've recently had a problem with my material editor not giving me acess to slate as i had loaded up my 2010 menus into 2011 but i've since re-installed max and vray and am still getting this.
I am after a rule to change the unit type of all .ipts from cm to mm.
This has to go down to all levels in hierarchy but only change .ipt files
Is it possible to change the units of measure in the iProperties from lbmass to tons for instance? I deal with very large, heavy concrete objects and tons is the way we show mass. Also use cubic yards instead of cubic inches.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am creating a custom table in a .idw through VB. I was looking for the code that would tell it to make a column have units formattng. For example, instead of my thickness to be 0.5, I want it to show 1/2 in. I know you can do this manually in the table editor, but I cannot find any bits of code that will do it in VB automatically.
