I have defer updates set to on yet every time I drag a part in an assembly inventor rebuilds everything, even though the part being moved has no adaptivity, no mates and no derived parts. It's rebuilding over 300 unrelated and unaffected parts every time.
I just want to drag parts around for concept layout and lying so I don't want mates just yet. How can I make it stop?

I have a simple iPart, with driven parameters Length and Width. When length changes (from a multi-value list), the spacing on a pattern and the number of occurrences of that pattern also change.
Invariably, it requires a rebuild. Occasionally, it requires two rebuilds. As this part is in a second-level subassembly, opening the part, rebuilding it, then rebuilding its assembly, then rebuilding the top-level is consumptive.
I've been using iLogic and iParts for about a week now, so I might be missing something basic. File attached.

I am using 2013 and my construction surfaces keep displaying in my drawing views. They are hidden at part and assembly level and include surfaces is greyed out but they show as visible in the feature tree in the idw, and in the views.
Is there a setting somewhere to stop this. This is from IDW. They should not be visible.
I have chamfer going around my part but I need to make it to stop 2mm's before the corner. How is this done?

This is absolutely ridiculous and maddening!
If it is a freaking arc or a radius, then make it a freaking arc or a radius instead of a spline!!!
If not, then give AutoCAD a tool to convert a spline into a true arc!!!
Come on Autodesk! Not everyone is using your product for design, some of us are doing so to actually make the damm parts that are drawn in Inventor! A spline that supposed to be an arc is wicked difficult - if not impossible - to send to a waterjet, laser or EDM to cut properly!!!
Everytime I click on the sketch button/icon inventor changes my view and rotates / re-angles my view. When I'm make those narrow sketches inventor messes up my view.
How to stop this.. I'm guessing settings of course but which ones exactly if you've done this and what are the down sides to turning this off?
i have some parts in my assembly wich are rotatable, i made some 2d drawings of my machine.
when change a position in the assembly it also change in the 2d drawing which is logic.
is there a way i can stop inventor from updating my 2d drawing when i change something in the main assembly?
im using inventor 2013.
Is there any way to give selection priority to real geometry instead of construction geometry? Every time I go to dimension or constrain IV wants to to pick the construction geometry first. I would like very much to change that.

When I open a file on Inventor 2014, the screen says, that the graphic card controller crashes, after that, there´s no possibility to recover the work, because the work zone, shows a infinite white space.
This is the print screen (in spanish); translation will be like: "Screen controller stop working but it recover itself (something like that)"

I have code that looks into all .ipts with a certain material type,that works great but if we run by accident there is no way of stopping code until it finishes .
So I am using Inventor LT 2012 in a small company that makes conveyor rollers. Most of the time we make the same roller with only different values to the variables. So I decided to make a part with the parameters in an Excel sheet:
A customer call us, and they want a roller with x,y,z dimensions, I put in in Excel and the drawing is ready.
But, when I need to make a second drawing of that roller with different dimensions, the first one also change.
Is there any way to keep a drawing fix when it is done ? If possible, only making a dwg for each customer without having to make an ipt and excel sheet for each drawing would be awesome !
We've been using Tube and pipe for a few months now, and still working through the quirks and tricks for producing a stable route. One problem however as more users are starting to use T&P is when in the top level T&P assembly they are dragging on a route and not always aware they have done so - this can result in the route being rotated fractions of a degree or moved fraction of mm and causing no end of confusion and frustration later on trying to diagnose and fix. Is there a way to 'lock' a route in place so it cannot be dragged in the top level?
Have tried switching off adaptivity in the i Properties of 'Tube & Pipe Runs' assembly, but this usually switches back on automatically. One user had a problem where the included geometry (taken from the x,y,z axes) had also moved and had to be deleted and redone - Wouldn't have thought anything based on the x,y,z axes should move?
I have one problem in ilogic i developed the model using ilogic rules and dimension values updated through the User interface form.
problem is while entering the values in UI, model updates automatically, but I want to stop automatic update and after entering the all the parameters in the UI then click the done button only update the model.

I know how to do it for other menus, and Bobvdd posted a registry hack a couple years ago for 2011. I cannot find anything for this dialog, and I would really like it to stop.

I'm not sure if there's a way to stop this, but whenever I add parts to an assembly and switch to the drawing of the assembly, the hidden lines for those parts show up in every view of the assembly. Right now I'm having to go to each view and select the hide hidden lines option for each part. Is it possible to stop the hidden lines from showing up everytime I add a part?

ACA 2011 on Windows 7 64 bit.Walls, dors, windows, etc. stop working. (command starts, but does not run) The only way to get it back working is to do a install repair, which requires the original CD ROM. and screws up my settings.
I have noticed this working on the file that uses a project from an earlier version of ACA.How can I prevent this from happening.
I dont know if its the UCS thats twisting or something else thats happening . If you look at the screen print i attached you can see that the view cube is orthogonal but the cursor is slightly rotated. If i restart my computer this will not be the case.
Then the cursor and the view cube both will be orthogonal. But after a while, for no reason it will rotate again and I have to restart my computer!
Is there a way to stop AutoCAD from making .bak files? I'm going through old drawings (5+ years old) and I don't need them to have .bak files.

I locked the layer and moved the pdf underlay's x-position to -1 and sent the drawing to the back to make sure it stays underneath all my lines, but annoyingly, everytime I draw something, it ends up *under* the PDF and I have to zoom out very far and selected the pdf to "send to back" again.

when I click/select on a line a box appears with line info, I know that these pop up when you click on a line twice however something is making it so that it appears after 1 click only. This is annoying me as it blocks other lines i need to work on. How do I get it to stop?

( opening another version will not due ) I need to be able to toggle off when it loads due to the recent installation of a competing product. But dependant on the situation there are times when i will want both to open.
I work using AutoCAD 2010 i think an old drawing that i have taken over was created using cad2007, and due to the compatibility issues between them, every time I save the dwg (Ctrl+S) i get prompted/asked whether I realllly want to save the drawing in 2010 format (yes/no) It's always yes.
is there a way to permanently disable this prompt either:
- for just this drawing, or
- for all dwg's i work on in the future
We are working in Autocad lt 2012 and in one particular drawing we can't stop the slash (/) from turning into a fraction line . IE the date 08/02 becomes a fraction 8 over 2.
