I use the Drawing Properties field in my title blocks but it displays the file extension .idw in the field.
I could use the model property but the Model file name .ipt can vary from the model part number.
My organisation has a laser 3D scanner which we have used to capture the external profile of Ironman toy. I like to import the model into Inventor for modification. However, I do not know what is the file type which Inventor can import from. The output from the FARO 3D scanner are wrp, 3ds, dxf, oogl, iv, ply, stl, u3d, wrl, obj. It does not have stp file type.
What file type should I ask my colleague to output to ?
I'm using Inventor 2011 and I can't figure out how to set my dimension settings so it breaks the dimension extension lines automatically when crossing over other dimension extension lines. I saw that others say it just happens, but it is not "just happening" for me. how to set my dimensions so when dimension lines cross each other one of them automatically breaks?

The logo is png, and I have tried retaining the path and not retaining the path with the same result. The file in question is used as background data for the design and is apparently fairly large. When he plots the drawings only part of the shape data comes through. Based on the information I have it sounds like the software does not have enough time to retreive all of the shape data before the plot data goes to the printer.

We do have Arcview, which will open the IMG file (ERDAS Imagine raster format?), but it will only save this as standard raster formats (jpg, tiff). I am doubtfull that one can use these formats as a DEM in Map.

I'm trying to make an application that would take a drawing(dwg) and convert it to pdf. Since I can do it directly in autocad 2013, i presume that there should be a function in the API, that i could use to do the same. So far, i tried with AcadDocument.export(filename, FileExtension, AcadSelectionSet) with no luck. I cannot put PDF as a valid file extension.

View 8 Replies View RelatedRank beginner using 2010 version autocad. When starting a new drawing using the New command > Opening up Template dialog box. I don't see the file extension acad.dwt in the Name drop down list. What I do see in the Template dialog box while looking & working its way down in the Name drop down list is acad - name plot sytles acad - name plot styles 3d acad & acad 3d and so on contuning down the line. While giving it a file name to save it high lighed in blue is acad.dwt.
Under File type in the Template dialog box there are 3 options. They are Drawing Template (*dwt) Drawing (*dwg) & Standard (*dws). In the Drafting settings dialog box Object Snap tab is opened all options are selected. On the staus bar Object Snaps & Dynamic Input are both on. When starting a new drawing the file extention acad. dwt has been on and working for weeks up intill zipping and unzipping files yesterday for a tutorial that I am working on in regards to 2010 autocad software.
The PC (running XP PRO 32bit) in question is at a middle school, so I'm sure someone was playing with settings, but I cannot find what they changed. underneath each screen icon that should say INVENTOR STUDIO, APPLICATION OPTIONS, SHEETMETAL, MODEL, etc. etc...all that shows is boxes; it's like they've either changed the language for the app to chinese (or other unsupported/unloaded in our OS) or some system font is haywire, but this only is affecting Inventor 2011 so far so I believe they changed a setting in the app. Once I get into a menu option; the text for each tab is correctly displayed. Where would one set the text/font for all icons in the Inventor 2011 interface?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an addin which has an icon for a button. In Inventor 2012 it displays fine. In Inventor 2013 the icon appears to be enlarged by about 4x, and only the top left corner of the icon is visible. The api clearly states that Inventor will scale the image to size.
This is the C# code I'm using to load the icon. The icon is in my resources file.

WHAT I DID: I downloaded AutoCAD LT trial version and used it for about 2 weeks. I then purchased the actual product and installed the purchased AutoCAD LT 2012. I then uninstalled the trial version.
PROBLEM: The file extension that says Autodesk Trial Player is now attached to all of my CAD work instead of the standard .dwg extension. I can not import my CAD files into Sketch Up because of this.
This is installed on an HP g7 laptop purchased new in Feburary 2012.
Last week I installed a new True Type Font in Windows, so that our drawing title blocks comply to our company standards. I noticed that when checked in into the Vault, the title block containing the new font doesn't display correctly. It shows the new font, but it's distorted; it's bigger, and the letters are too close to eachother. When printing from the Vault, this doesn't change, it's exactly what Vault shows. (See attachments). Also when publishing from within Inventor (File --> Export --> Export to DWF) the font gets distorted.
Posted this message in the Vault-forum, but according to Autodesk it's an Inventor related issue.
Our non-Cad-people are complaining about this, because it's non-compliant to our standards... How can I correct this matter?

I created a file in Photoshop and was saving it along the way as a layered PSD file. When I went to open it a few days later, it wouldn't open and said that it was an '8 file'. What happened, and how do I fix it? It had all the design layers I needed for another project.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a PSD file that became corrupted when the power went out in the house while in the middle of saving the the file.The PSD file itself is corrupted.
When I load it it says "Could not complete your request because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered." I have tried all sorts of PDS recovering programs and none could get the file recovered except for a BRIGHT BLUE/GREEN BACKGROUND.
When I load up photoshop 5.0 and go to select the corrupted psd file, there thumbnail DOES show up perfectly fine. However I cannot remotely see it in details because it's TINY.. Like 1/16" x 3" high.
Is there ANYWAY.. with ANY PROGRAM that will actually extract that thumbnail? All the ones I've tried online or downloaded extracts the thumbnail as just one BRIGHT BLUE/GREEN BACKGROUND.
I'd like to extract the thumbnail and have it LARGER so I can actually VIEW the contents.
In the Lightroom 3 Print module I choose to print to a 300 ppi JPG file:
The strange thing is that in OSX's "Preview" the saved file shows up as being 72 ppi
However, in Photoshop the same file shows up as 300 ppi:
At this stage I would blame "Preview", but if I save the image in Photoshop, then open it in Preview it shows up as 300 ppi:
I am trying to create a Treeview of Model tree which displays parts assembly...etc My code is working well and i am able to get the tree view, but the problem is how can i count the quantity of parts/assemblies and display as consolidated. For instance this below snapshot shows my treeview.

I am having trouble importing a field book file.......I click the option to import survey data, verify the survey database then select the field book option but at that point Civil 3D does not alow me to browse to select a field book file.

I can't remember when I first saw the recently-opened-document-list in which you can preview the documents; you hover your mouse above one of the documents listed there, a preview of the document pops up, and if you wait a second longer, underneath the preview some dates are displayed (modified date, Version info etc.). For as long I CAN remember, these dates have always been set to 1-1-0001 0:00:00, see picture below. I hoped that the release of Inventor 2011 solved this issue, but after installing Inventor 2012 this year, this issue has still not been solved. Is this an Inventor issue, or is it Microsofts responsibility?

I'm learning how to create extension (flex - extension builder) for Illustrator and how to make it communicate with a plugin.
The samples provided in the SDK detailed how to load /unload extension from a menu item from Illustrator, and how to add / remove EventListeners to make the magic happen.
to sum up, this is something like that:
1- click on the menu item
2- load extension
3- add listeners
4- do your stuff......
5- remove listeners
6- unload extension
Basically my plugin is a module/service which is in charge of dealing with / modifying artwork tree. It has no User Interface.
My extension will have a user of this service.
What I would like to do is to load my extension as soon as my plugin is loaded, and unload the extension when the plugin will be unloaded.
Or notify when extension is loaded or unloaded.
Is that possible and hw could I achieve that?
I have a pc with Windows 7 Home Premium Edition, 64 bit and a Raedeon (<sp?) processor.
Recently I downloaded a trial period for Adobe Photoshop CS6.
I made a New Folder when I downloaded the software ~ if that means anything.
My problem is that I need to save files as .eps but when I go to Save As it is not listed. I checked the list of extensions and Ps does have it available. So, I am beside myself wondering why it is not in my drop down list of extensions.
I have searched the FAQ's to no avail. However, I am not certain I have been asking my question in a manner in which I would be able to narrow down a relative result.

When saving any file, Photoshop saves only the filename without the extension- i must manually add the extension in finder- nightmare! Chat sucks so here I am. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but it still doesn't work??

I've down loaded and installed the DNG Converter7.1 and my Nikon D7000 .nef files still wont open. I tried to change the .nef file extension to .raw file extensions.
I'm really getting sick of LR3, and I sure's heck am not willing to buy LR4 when Gimp is free!
