I could not see the preview of the drawing in any document of inventor. The icons shows only a box and not the drawing in miniature. The same happens with all my Autocad drawings.
View 2 RepliesI can't remember when I first saw the recently-opened-document-list in which you can preview the documents; you hover your mouse above one of the documents listed there, a preview of the document pops up, and if you wait a second longer, underneath the preview some dates are displayed (modified date, Version info etc.). For as long I CAN remember, these dates have always been set to 1-1-0001 0:00:00, see picture below. I hoped that the release of Inventor 2011 solved this issue, but after installing Inventor 2012 this year, this issue has still not been solved. Is this an Inventor issue, or is it Microsofts responsibility?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason brush preview has disappeared and I cannot find a way to show it again. In the Show Extras menu it is checked, but it is nowhere in the UI. I remember moving it from top left to bottom left and slightly decreasing the window size, but now its gone for good. In 3D mode the secondary view window is up there just fine.

They cannot export in step file or others which can be useful for me.

Right now to process a bunch of open drawings I simply process the active drawing and then close it, then repeat until all are closed. I'd like to be able to get a list of open documents and switch between them to process them all, which would leave them open.
when I join pdf's that I have exported from Inventor with ones exported from word and other programs. Both files are fine when seperate but once they are joined the other pages text becomes all distorted. This also happens when I join pdf's exported from Inventor with ones exported from AutoCAD.
Using: Autodesk Inventor 2013, Acrobat Pro 9 and AutoCAD 2012 on Windows 7.

InventorVb.Application.activedocument.Close (True)
This close the document but brings up the following Error msg...
Catastrophic failure (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED))
Any better piece of code that shuts down the active document but doesn't return the error? (I only want to shut down one document, not the application)
I need assign automatically, a unipersonal code at file, before saving it. We have a multi solid bodie part that changes on via suppression to different styles of profile we then need the file naming prefix to chage depending on what key have selected .
ie Parameter = Style with 4 Multi selctions 1,2,3,4
depending on selection picked we then need to change the Solid Bodies Prefix in document settings..
Example :: If style = 1 then Solid Bodies Prefix = Dave
I'm looking to add the name of the person printing the document as well as the date to any paper copies printed. However, since everythign is stored in Vault, this needs to be done without making any changes to the document that require saving the document.
Ideally this would be automatic(requiring no user input).
I've used both iLogic and built Inventor Addins before.

I have lists of Documents I am altering and saving automatically in a loop, The problem is that if the file needs to be migrated you get a dialog box in your face for every file in the list. How can I temporarally turn the dialog off?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe are on 2014 professional and have been using routed systems for over a year now. One of our guys ran two routes over the course of a couple weeks with no problem. He went to create a new route yesterday and all of the styles are gone (both default and custom). If he goes into the two previously created the style that is used is there, but any other styles are not. What could have changed? I tried deleting the job project and creating it again to verify all the paths. Seems like everyone else's machines are running routed systems fine so I don't think it's a network issue.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I opened the model this morning to add new pipes, I saw that all my tube and pipe styles disappeared from the model. I can still see the pipes and routes created with the styles but there is absolutely no styles in the list of tube and pipe styles. If I open any other model in the project all is normal, for some reason it only appears to be a problem in one specific model. What can I do to get the styles back? I would prefer if i could get a remedy instead of recreating the model from scratch.
I have also exported all my styles from one assembly and imported it into the assembly giving problems, the software told me the styles are imported but the styles window shows blank, i.e. it shows that there is no styles.
