AutoCAD Inventor :: Best Settings For Exporting DWG

Client supplies template for acad with title block c/w attributes that eventually get populated via their doc management system.I open template in inventor, drop in views from me model, then dimension & annotate.I have previously created styles in inventor so all layers, text etc is correct. And colours used match clients ctb file.
I then export to acad 2010 dwg using sheet to layout with best visual fidelity and the acadiso.dwt as a template.I then open in acad and add my bits into title block.
I check layer manager as quite often inventor converts acad colour 'red' to a RGB colour code in inventor; so these need resetting. Then repair or delete and redo dimensions that have not come over well. However, I now have everything on paperspace - not ideal. Ideally I would like everything in modelspace at 1:1.
I have tried other setting sin export and it just doesn't work. What is the best way and best settings for this export? I will adapt my workflow to suit best way.

I have made several presets in ACR (CS3 on XP pro) and I'd like to save them out to share with friends or use on other computers, is there any way of doing this?. I know it can be done with Lightroom, so I'm guessing theres a way with CS3 ?

I have a map using multiple layers with different textures/colours/etc on each one. I now want to create a new map but use the same layer settings. Is it possible to export or copy the first map's layer settings to use on the second?

The company I work for uses exclusively grayscale art and often the same art is used for print as well as online. Sometimes the art we export as .gifs (not my choice - company mandated file type) looks fuzzy (Times New Roman is company mandated typeface). I'm just wondering what the best settings for creating a grayscale .gif graphic would be? Currently, we use:
Web snap 0%
Preset: Unnamed
Art optimized
Other settings as seen here:

I have just moved my LR4 Catalog (Exporting as Catalog) from my Mac to an external Hard Drive. Now when I view the DNG Images in LR4 I notice that all of my adjustments e.g. (Exposure, WB, Camera Profil...etc,) are nolonger there! (hours of work missing). I have also noticed that all Virtual Copies are missing! The files are now as when I first imported into LR4.

I use quite heavy Luminance noise reduction on my images as they are shot at very high speed ISO...
I adjust this in L4, picture in preview looks as smooth as a babies bottom and perfect...
I then export as a TIF file at Adobe 1998 and when I open it in Photoshop 5 the image is really noisy like I've not done the adjustments at all...
I use a 17inch Macbook Pro with the lastest operating system, this is the second performace issue over the last few week (problems with LB too)...I export my files manually using a card reader as RAW files, from a Canon 5D Mark 3...
Is it worth re-installing?

I managed to get a nice set of different settings to publish a corel file to pdf. Now I would like copy these settings to multiple other pc's in the office. where a can find the file/folder in which these settings are being saved?
Otherwise I would have to set all different pc's individually and I rather spend my time otherwise.

I am having an issue exporting my sequence which contains final AIFF mix (24 bit 48 kHz) into a 'same-as-source' ProRes 422 file with 24 bit audio. I am specifically trying to export media with 'Match Sequence Settings' checked to create an identical output of what my sequence is. I wind up only creating a PR422 with 16 bit audio rather than 24 bit audio.
My sequence contains ProRes 422 media and 24 bit AIFF final stereo mix (1 audio file) from our Sound department.
My sequence is currently setup as "Custom" at 1920x1080, 23.976 fps, Square Pixels, Progressive, etc. Audio is 48 kHz (I don't see an option for choosing different bit rates in the 'Sequence Settings').
Using 'Match Sequence Settings', my options to alter the audio are "greyed out" and unavailable. I'm not sure why 'Match Sequence Settings' doesn't recognize that I am cutting with 24 bit audio and, instead, only exports 16 bit audio.

I am wondering if there is a way of exporting an existing IDW created in Inventor to DWF format without having to physically open the IDW in Inventor ? I have a list of IDW's and some of them are referencing large assembly and take a long time to open and it would be better if I could do a batch export outside the Inventor environment.

when I try to export my current drawing to a pdf (or AutoDesk 2007 DWG for that matter) it won't do anything but show the export progress window and states Updated Views: 0/4. There is a bar which usually starts showing green slowly across it for "progress" , but that is not filling up with green, it is just staying blank and empty like no progress is happening. This goes on forever and so I stop and try again only to get the same result!

I'm trying to make a .dxf or .dwg from our company logo to use it in many parts and assemblies. I also would like to be able to resize it. When I export the sketch from the attached model, and use it in a new part, it says there's open loops and other problems. These do not occur in the original part when using sketch doctor.
What's wrong with the sketch? Is there easier ways to emboss the logo on multiple parts?

Looking for a way to quickly and easily copy and paste a sketch from an IV drawing into another drawing. I have tried the simple copy and paste method however this most basic of commands is extremely un-user friendly in IV. All I need to do it copy and paste a sketch which is a drawing stamp (minimal text inside a box) and paste onto another IV drawing.

I have a very simple Inventor 2013 CAD model that I tried to export to an STL and the scale of the STL is not 1:1. I have tried changing all of the units and setting 100 different ways and I still cannot get it to export to a 1:1 scale for 3D printing. What is the deal with this I cannot believe it is this difficult.

Why can you only export a part as 2D sheet metal part? All parts are of some sort of machine component be it sheet metal of wood for CNC. The file prep is the same..
When will autodesk recognize that plenty of companies are in woodwork and Shopfitting? It's not only metalworking that benefit.
Luckily for me, I'm good at programming so I make my own tools but there are others less skilled. Open the umbrella autodesk......

The view cube in INV2011 has the front view as the front view and the top as the top (I am using XY as top, and XZ as front). When I export to DWF everything gets turned on its side. XY is FRONT (previously TOP), top is upside down view of one of the sides. I've done the make current view home in 2011.

Is there any way of exporting text parameters from an assembly to individual parts without using i Logic? I am also unable to import text parameters to a . I am from an excel file.
We are currently using ilogic to change part text parameters from the assembly but it is a sticking plaster at best, as the rules need to be rewritten when parts are added and deleted from the assembly. We are trying to update our etched job number (which in many cases contains letters) from a single point on the assembly model which should populate all part files, and make it robust for all our CAD users, who do not use iLogic in their day to day duties.
If this is not possible (exporting text parameters the same way numerical parameters are handled) is there any plans of getting this included in upcoming versions?

I have a customer that wants the .idw file. If I do a save as and ship him the file I know all the links will be broken and won't work right. I remember in AutoCad had a command called Etransit where you can export a drawing and have everything attached to it exported with it so you didn't lose the xrefs, layers, ect.... Does inventor have something like that where I can export the .idw and it'll attach all the .ipt and .iam files to it in like a .zip file?

I still can´t import inventor materials to MaxDesign 2013.
Using STEP or DWG files accomplishes this but due to the fact that i use multi body objects the imported geometry is grouped in an awkward manner (multiple occurences of an object are grouped and i can´t ungroup them).
How to export right?
The issue is quite pressing and my posts in the AREA have not been answered yet. Is it an Inventor or a Max issue?

Is there a way to burst all Inventor sketch-symbols and titleblocks into plain text upon exporting (from Inventor to Autocad DWG format)?
iLogic, api, xml ?
Our biggest supplier still uses Autocad DWG format and needs to access theses attributes in plain text (scripting stuff). The only work-around, we have found is to re-open each exported files and burst these manually
--- extremely time consuming and not acceptable ---

I have to export the drawing to STEP for machinist that uses Solidworks. How can I include the threads into STEP file?

I'm trying to export parameters for my parts to an excel sheet, this way to be able easily to edit any of these. So far :
1. exported parameters as xml.file and opened it in my excel sheet.
2. saved this sheet as xls.file on my desktop and linked (embed) parameters to this file.
- value column is formatted as text.
- any update to value column should immediatly change (after save and close worksheet?) parameters in inventor ?

I can use the program and quite happily create components, sub assemblys, and master assemblys. Our company still doesn't have ANY 3D FILES. I have been tasked with eventually creating a full range of end product drawings as Step files. They are wanting BIMS. I see this a step to far atm.....
With the products that manufacture inhouse (industrial / comercial boilers) I have produced each individual component within the boiler to eventually aid to manufacture and bombs to intergrate with SAP.
With doing this every boiler I have done in inventor all the components are there and easily accessable. Am I right in thinking it needs to be exported as a step file to lock everything within the master assembly.
When I have exported it to a step file, when it comes to importing it into an assembly file the components are still accessable when expanded in the menu at the side. Is this because im opening it on my computer or have I done something wrong.....

I'm using a student version of AIP 2012 and am having a problem exporting to .STL file types.
When using a "Standard(mm).ipt" and designing the part in mm, upon export it shrinks the dimensions down.
For example, the width of my sketch is 193mm, upon inspection on a different computer with VCarve Pro and CUT3D were 19mm.
I don't want to dimension the parts as to make the problems in export to the right size because I think that defeats the universal aspects of autodesk.

I imported an .stp file into Inventor 2011, saved it as an .ipt, and edited several features. When I export this edited file as an .stp and sent it to a client, they said that the file contained multiple errors: it showed no solid bodies (only surfaces), and the 3D thread feature I created (using a thread cutter and Inventor "Coil" command) did not read correctly (the thread I created was an edit of a previous thread, and apparently the .stp file simultaneously showed the new thread and the old, unedited threads).
Creating an assembly (.iam) and shrinkwrapping it before exporting as an .stp does not work.
(When I open the stp file I created [in Inventor] the file, of course, reads correctly. All solid bodies are visible, as well as the single thread.)
How to export an .stp so that it reads correctly in SolidWorks?
