Dec 5, 2011I'm trying to setup a custom form that matches my company's title block information. My desired end result is to eliminate the need to open the iproperties (some users find it confusing/inconvient). I have a seperate tab for the check/status information listed in the "status" tab of the iproperties. In the iproperties, these are activated and deactivated with a check box. When I add these properties to my form, I have the ability to open a calendar but I have no way of knowing if the date is activate or not.
I saw in another post, that a ticket was opened to added the material selection to the options in forms. Could this functionality be added as well?

May 29, 2012I am having a problem with a sketch not updating the parameters when using a "while / end while" command.
Basically if you have a right angled triangle (as attached) with one side and the angle doing the driving then I wish to update the sketch until the last side which is a reference dimension reaches a preset dimension.
I cannot get the updated sketch to read back into the while command to stop when the limit is reached. Instead it goes on an infinite loop until the sketch breaks.
I have used every update under the sun and can get nothing to work.
Trigonometry not an option as this is a basic example of what I wish to achive.
I have seen an example of this working but only for reading the iproperties so dimensions can change until a volume is reached.

Aug 22, 2013I have a funnel with a curved top. I'm trying to project an inset of the border onto the curved surface and use the shell command to create a hollow funnel with an overhanging lip. I have projected the inset successfully, but cannot select the resulting smaller face, just the whole original face.
A similar problem that I tried while attempting to figure this out was shelling a sphere. 2d sketch -> 3d sketch project onto surface, and try applying shell to the resulting "face". However I can only select the whole face when trying to shell.

I have what seems like an odd, but needed request here. I have an engineer that is looking for a way to measure between two lines that are not co-planar, but he wants the measurement in a specific plane.
Basically he wants to be able to select a plane or line, then be able to select the second plane or line and have the tool automatically "project" it to the plane of the first selection and give the angle in that plane.
Ref the attached - the purple lines are in the XY plane, the blue line is not, but he wants to measure the angle from the X axis to that line but in the XY plane as seen by the green line that was manually projected to that plane.
Without having to manually create a sketch and project the entities that need to be measured (this example is an extremely simplistic one), how can this be done? Measurements in this way need to be done in numerous complex angles.
He's claiming Catia, Pro/E and of course, SW can all do this "project" within the measure tool. I figured if that's indeed the case, Inventor sure be able to.....JD, you're the resident expert on SW & Inventor....do you know what I'm referring to?
AutoCAD Inventor :: Loft Command Not Working For A Cut
Oct 8, 2012I am following the U-Tube exercise called "Emergency Light (Cabinet) volume 1". I am at time stamp 1 hour 26 minutes, exactly.
In the video they use a Loft command in order to cut a shape out of two sketches numbered 10 & 11. I have been copying exactly and am having difficulty at this stage of the model.
Is there any reason why I am managing to use the Loft command earlier perfectly but not at this point.

Oct 4, 2013I have looked at all the discussions relevant to this problem and can't find an answer. I am doing the TOOLING TUTORIALS for Inventor 2014. My O/S is Windows 7, and my Graphics card is a Gforce GTX 570, so I know my equipment is up to doing these tutorials. But, every time I click OK to start the pattern in the section "Patterning Mold Assembly Components", I get a message saying "Pattern (not responding)". I have tried and retried at least a dozen times to be sure I followed all instructions to the letter.

Sep 23, 2011My sculpt command seems to be temperamental. I've created some surfaces using the revolve command and now want to sculpt using those surfaces. It won't show me a preview of the section to be removed and as I keep trying I get bumped out of inventor (fatal error). The other strange part to this is that i t worked once before on one side of the part and not the other. And now that I try again on the part that worked; it won't work any more. ?

I know you can schedule tasks within the Inventor Task scheduler, but has task scheduled the Inventor Task Scheduler? I suppose in theory you could schedule the launch of Inventor Task scheduler via the Windows one? or is there any need? If the Inventor Task scheduler isn't running, but a task has been scheduled, will it execute the program itself?
