All the assemblies that I created in 2012 are showing with lighter color steel that I don't like. Is there any way other that selecting each member to change the display color to a darker steel color? I want to change the display quality to show the member edges as straight lines and not dull zig zag looking edges. How would I do that?

I want the tangent edges to be displayed automatically when I insert a drawing view rather than clicking the Display Options tab and checking the Tangent Edges box every time I make a new drawing. Is this possible? If so, how?
I tried inserting a view, checking the Tangent Edges box, then deleting my view and re-saving the template but it still went back to the default.
In our part list we have a column for Material, ipt's display the material and iam's display blank expect for a few instances that display Welded Aluminum-6061(see attachment). These assemblies are all steel and not weldments. What would cause this and how can it be fixed?

And Inventor said me "Some color/materail was renamed". Yeah good information but can you said me which color was renamed?!?

All works OK. But, every time I make a new project ipj I have to go find my custom library adsklib file to add it to the project. Is there a certain folder the adsklib file need to live in so that new projects will pick it up automatically?

I have a lot of project files to migrate from INVENTOR 2012 to 2013. So I created an VB.NET application to get and check out all project files from my VAULT, change the different paths and check in the files in the vault. However, I need to include the new material library in each project files.
I found that we could change almost everything, but not include material library.
I have a customer who uses negative material mass in Inventor to calculate buoyancy for submerged constructions. After upgrading to 2013, we have a problem: Inventor 2013 does not accept negative material mass

All parts using certain material will follow the changes made to properties and written to single library. It is clear and predictable.
In Inventor 2013 material properties belong to individual file.
When changes were done to appearance properties of a single part there could be situation when the same material parts in the assembly could have different appearance.
Here is the fact I do not understand and it is contradict to actual reality since the same material with the same standard must look absolutelly the same when switched to Master view.
Seems like to make parts look the same or to change the appearance I should click on each single file and make the same changes to each file.
I do not intend to change the appereance properties in single file on purpose to make problems to myself but I am sure I will take somebody else part and it will be changed due unnecessary reflection or other too much realistic things added in 2013. So finally I will get some sort of parrot collored assembly without clear and most importand easy way to make an order.
So I wish I could equalize all same material parts in apearance view. I do not count the way of clicking each file.

What happens to older part materials that were created by customer when you upgrade (or downgrade as it has been for our company) from 2011 to 2013.
How do I get my part to be transparent in the "Realistic" view like it is with the"Shaded with edges"? This is what it looks like with the view style set to "Shaded with Edges". Notice how it is transparent and you can see thru the part.
Now when I switch to "Realistic", I get this. Anything that is behind this part is not visible.
I want to be able to see thru the part when in the reallistic visual style.
It occurs when a user tries to run AutoCAD 2013.
And returns the error
"Unhandled Exception E0434352 at address FE0DCACDh"

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to change the color of a material definition in 2d wireframe (plan view). For example, for walls, when the mat. def. is checked in the wall display props, the hatching shows orange->color 30.
When I look at one of the materials listed for said wall, in style manager, for that display component, there are diplay components similar to an object format, but in the mat. def. the components control the color (see attached example).
Now is there a "master setting" to change them - I want to change say the plan linework or section hatch to a different color to match our layer color standards or do I have to go into every since display rep. for every single mat. definition and change them or is there a way I can do it once & all will change?
The out of the box objects are great but what I am worried about is that those colors that are given don't work well with our office standard, esp. if we go back to old projects.
I have a Material Definition for my Roof Object. I prefer to keep it a Roof Object instead of breaking it into slabs. See Display Properties image for settings. I have Surface Hatch turned on.
Model views show the hatch correctly.
Elevation views show the hatch correctly.
Plan views do not show the surface hatch at all.
How can I get the surface hatch to show in plan? I have tried changing the cut plan height. It seems I am making something more complicated than it should be.
When adding an element, say a door, to something like a wall, if there is a void within the door and everything is set properly to cut out a section of the wall, what is the resultant material colour that you see at the cut?
I've been trying this out and in the Realistic display mode, when I have a door with a recess profile around the frame, in brick I see the brick colour, but in plaster I see a grey which isn't the same as the default plaster colour?
The recess is 12mm into 12.5mm plaster.
I`m trying to use max with DirectX 10. Dunno if i should or not but here`s the problem, there`s a tick box in the Viewport Config options for DirectX10 that says `Display All Triangle Edges`. Obvious I uncheck that because i don`t to see wireframe spaghetti. However it looks exactly the same, the wireframe triangle edges are still there. How else can I get rid of them as wireframe performace is actually a little better but useless because all of the extra edges visible.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have autocad 2013 and I used to have the material library downloaded and working fine. I recently installed revit 2014 and deleted all 2013 material library and downloaded the 2014 that came with Revit.
However, now autocad gives me an error saying the material library is not installed. Is there anyway to remap it so that it reads the 2014 library? I would rather not download the 2013 library if I don't have to, I use windows on a mac and my bootcamp partition is very tiny.
When a make a copy of a material library item (siding) and use the materials editor to change the color the materials do not change from the original color. What can I do to update 5the colors?
