getting Civil 3D to crash every time the Map Task Pane is opened from the Ribbon? if you type in MAPWSPACE, then it seems to "initiaite" it to work ok, but if you go right to the Ribbon: View tab > Palettes panel, and click it on there, it crashes every time.
View 1 RepliesI am using MAP3D 2012 and have the following query. Under Task Pane and Display Manager I have added drawing data to a drawing layer. Added Style>Text and selected the Object data I want to have displayed (e.g. drawing number).
Since the drawing is going to be accessed also by users with a simple AutoCAD version I want to copy paste the text from display Manager to a Layer In layer Properties Management.
However, every time I create a new layer and copy paste the text does not appear or carry through.
I am playing around with my .dwt and cui so cad will start up the same ever time
However i cant figure out how to stop "task pane" and "express tools" from opening on start up.
When I try to open a LDD file with C3D, the file locks up and won't open. It appears to happen only when the LDD file has an alignment defined.
View 8 Replies View RelatedLately, whenever Civil 3D crashes, my menus and ribbons would freeze, but my command line still works. It's like the entire user interface locks up. I'm able to workaround the problem by rebooting the computer and then recovering any drawings I had open at the time of the crash.

Some how I changed the way my ribbon displays and I can't find the correct termenology to find the solution on the help section. Previously the different function icons displayed with each panel on the ribbon. now only the pannel and title display. Where do i look to change the setting back?

We just upgraded to 2013 software and anytime i change the ribbon to anything besides the default Inventor crashes.

View 5 Replies View Related I've upgraded to CorelDraw X6 but I need the files I make to be openable in Coreldraw 10. When saving I use the drop down box and choose the option for 10 and if they are opened again in X6 before they are opened in 10 they are fine, but when these files are opened in 10 they crash and the file gets wiped (when opened again it's just a blank page).
A not so obvious box that needs ticking? An option I have missed somewhere?
Is it because the version i have is 64bit? Or is it just not possible to downsave files properly anymore, is 10 just too old now?
The company I work for has just switched to Max2012 but my machine has a problem with it. I get this error on startup and whenever I open and close the ribbon:
-- Unknown property: "validobjfunc" in #StructolyBoost(undefined:<data>;Public)
It throws open the max script editor window and a message prompt saying the above text. If I press OK, the message goes away. When I close the editor the message comes back and we have a loop!
To get around it I can press OK. Then run script and go to max root > stdplugs > stdscripts > PolyTools.ms
I looked around and saw people had this error on previous versions of max and the fix was to place a copy of polytools.ms in the startup folder. I tried this and polytools.ms crashes instead on startup. To me from the error given it looks like the ribbon isn't loading a script somewhere that it should do. Placing it in the startup folder makes sense as a temporary fix but in this case it doesn't work. I can run the script after every time max has loaded but this is inconvenient and means I can't do any batch operations which I do quite often.
My PC specs are Win XP x64 SP2, Xeon W3550, 12gb ram, quaddro 3800 and dual screen monitors, I also use a Wacom tablet.
The problem happens in both x64 and x86 installations of 3ds max. We have reinstalled 3ds max countless times. My colleagues have identical computers, hardware wise, haven't had the same issues. We're using SP2 patched 3ds max 2012 too.
My working company currently practicing multiple user per pc. The autocad can run smoothly during the 1st time windows user account setup. But later on, after few days it start crash. The app will load and run but just for doing simple thing such draw lines, polilines n such. When i want to access the task panel, it crashed. Same if wan to load application, lisp etc. It only work fine under the user account which it is installed in. My user account have the administrative privilege and i'm running Windows XP platform (x32).

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor the last few weeks I have been having problems with my photoshop. One day I opened it and all the layer styles (6 gigs worth) were just gone. No one knew how to restore them here so I did them all over again and saved 3 sets at 2gigs each. Now every single time I open Photoshop I don't have any layer styles and have to load them. I updated just now from CS5 to CS6 and the same thing.. I have opened and closed CS6 4x now and each time all my layer styles vanish upon opening.

I can go through and reset all the styles, then re-apply them, but it wastes a lot of time.

Open X5
Open jpg file (have tried various sizes, both physical and pixel, and makes no difference)
Add Raster layer
Create tiny color dot on new layer
Merge layers
Dies, freezes up, have to shut it down and lose what I just modified.
Now, mind you, I've been using PSP since way back in the Jasc days. For years I was one of their beta testers, because I USE THIS EVERY SINGLE DAY! Literally, I'm in it every day. I love X4, still trying to get into X5, but similar to when X4 came out, X5 is slowly PMO'ing me! I create hundreds of scripts, and lots dozens of plug-ins, and so far the majority seem to work fine in X5, however this whole issue of it crashing and freezing up my puter is really getting on my nerves.
After the crash, I can re-open X5 and it'll work fine on the first image. Then next image, SSSD!
Really is getting aggravating this constant crashing. Starting to think that Corel isn't creating this software but Microsoft is
I use window 7 64 bit so Lightroom installer install the 64 bit version for me. Everytime I click on the import button lightroom 4 would crash. I have try to create another catalogue, same problem.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI'm having issues with Civ3d 2013. I pushed off upgrading from 2012 because of the format change and the service pack release. I was hoping little glitches would be fixed.
Here are the a couple of glitches to date that I have seen no resolution to in the long list of threads.
1. Layer filters do not filter, unless I have checked "Apply filter to toolbar". The problem is, I dont want to apply them to the toolbar.
2. Publishing to PDF - when set to lines merge (set in the page layout and the publish setting), the wipeouts dont work, and the background masks on leaders makes a faint border around the text in the PDF. When set to overwrite, to get the wipeouts to not print to the PDF as a big black blob, they have to be on a layer set to color 255. I can work around most of the wipeouts, except for dimensions because the background mask doesn't seem to take.
So I have this issue where opening the compact material editor a second time causes 3ds max design to totally crash. I cant figure out why it is doing that. I have tried reinstalling the software, even tried re-dowloading it and nothing works, have all the service packs and so on. Funny thing is that it works when using the slate editor. I can recreate the bug every time. Just open 3ds max design 2014 x64. Press material editor (assuming its in comact mode), close the editor and then open it again. Immediatly the program will crash to desktop, telling me that the progam has stopped responding.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a storm drainage drawing that has all the parts, pipes, and their labels in model space (as a data reference) and everything shows up fine in Civil 3D 2010. But my drafter opened the drawing in regular 2010 auotcad with object enablers loaded and the labels were rotated to the world coordinate system and not the plan view. Is there a setting in the styles that controls this?

I accidentally closed the ribbon or the tools.. whatever you want to call it that were in the red rectangle in the picture.. How do I get it back to normal?
I am trying to customize Autocad 2012 ribbon tab. I can't seem to find how to mimic the small arrow that appears in several of the standard menus. For example, in the 3D Solids - Home Tab, the second panel from the left is "3D Solids Home - Mesh" It has a small arrow in the corner that opens up a preferences dialogue box.
How can I add that arrow to a custom panel with that little arrow so that I can add my command to it?
No command will work from the Ribbon. I've changed workspaces and tried a backup CUI file. Is my system corrupt or is there some setting that displays the ribbon, but disables the commands within it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Civil3d 2011 and the ribbon will not display. The button seem to work some times but I can't see the ribbon, QAT, or Infocenter. I tried relaoding the CUI files, updated video card drivers, Civil3D patches, even uninstalled and reinstalled Civil3D.
I can turn the ribbon off (ribbonclose) and the ribon area is rendered correctly on the screen. I can turn the menubar on/off and it works just fine.
I tried logging on to the computer as different user, as the administrator, etc. Same error.
I use the Ribbon but now I can't because I can't see it.
I have attached a screen shot of the ribbon area.
I think tool palette with vertical tabs are a lot of unconfortable...
Is there any way to have or to create a "mega-subassemblies-ribbon" ?
Where is the Associative Array Ribbon Tab? I want to put into my Contextual Tab States for when I select my arrays.
