At times, my Tool space box will go blank. By this I mean that all items in all tabs can't be seen (Prospector-Points, Point Groups, Point Clouds, Surfaces, ....). This also happens at times in the Import Survey Data>Import Options (last box). I need to exit C3D and re-open for it to show up. Seems to happen at random when using the box.
View 1 RepliesI just began learning AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014. I inadverdently entered an extra survey name in the survey databases. I cannot find any way to delete an entry that I don't want. This entry is in the "Survey" tab in the toolspace. I tried to start a new drawing in hopes it would give me a clean toolspace, but it keeps showing the same information.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I open Civil 3D 2014, my prospector will be off, If I open it, my screen splits as if it were two vertical viewports. Prospector appears in only the top one, which does not respond.

I've been opening old drawings that don't seem to have this problem, and then creating new drawings. Is it possible that this has something to do with a dual monitor setup?
I'm having trouble viewing a list within Toolspace Item View. When I click the item in the tree nothing shows up in the item view. There should be a list of all my parcels but there is not. Graphical view works fine. List view works fine with other items in my tree except for my parcels. Also, when i right click parcels and click refresh I can see the list genereate in item view but then it quickly disappears.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI dragged a surface style from another drawing into the drawing I am having issues with. The Issue is that after inserting the style the Prospector and Settings are not expandable. The Prospector check box is grayed out and there are dots in front of the Settings tab.
Basically I can't expand either the Prospector or the Setting to edit surfaces, alignments, styles, etc.
Set up the settings tab in Toolspace to always skip to display the drawing that I'm not working in? I just spent half an hour creating expressions in the wrong drawing,

I have 7 roads in my drawing and all of the profile data bands except one are correct. We first started with an overall profile with the EG created from a surface and the FG created by drawing in profile, then created multiple profile views. The only thing wrong with the one road profile is the data band is not showing the EG elevations. The strange thing is under Profile View Properties - Bands Tab, Profile 1 is set to EG and Profile 2 is set to FG, so it recognizes it is there and is also shown in the profile, however no elevations. I have tried recreating the multi profile views. Attached is a screen shot to give you a visual.
I am trying to plot somelthing with a transparent hatch. I set the hatch to transparent, shows up fine in model space. I go to plot (either to paper or pdf doesn't matter) in the plot setting I check "Plot Transparency" print preview shows everything fine. When I print I get a blank page.

I created a drawing for a client and created blocks to represent handholes. They now need to go back to the blocks and add the HH number and fiber size. How can I add to blank att fields to the blocks so that I can send them the drawing and have them enter the information manually?
I searched around and only see solutions for adding attribute labels to the block.
When I plot to pdf with Transparency on it takes a long time and only creates a blank page. This happens when I give my hatch a transparency in the Properties Dialog box and plot it.

I have attached a couple images to illustrate.
I am issues with DEM files that I am downloading from the USGS website.I download 24k, elevation for the area I need. I then choose staged 1 second, add a surface to a blank drawing, then upload the DEM files to the surface.
The surface imports correcty, but when I try to import points taken by a surveyor on the same drawing, they plot incorrectly.The DEM surface and the points from the surveyor do not correspond. Also, the DEM surface is in meters, not feet. I have tried changing drawing settings, datum types, coordinate types, etc.
I am running Autocad LT 2013 Windows 7 on a MacPro OSX using Fusionware. I am working in Model space.
When I want to plot a pdf using either the Plot command and Cute PDF writer, or the Output to PDF command, the preview shows up as a blank page. If I continue to Plot the pdf is written correctly, I just can't preview it to confirm it is correct.
When I try this via the Plot dialog box I get a white screen with a "Preview Job Progress" window and 2 buttons, Help and Cancel, neither of which is clickable. (See attached) I have to right click>Exit to get back to the dialog box. I have been using this method to print pdfs for 5-6 years with no problems.
When I use the Output tab I just get the white screen, which I then close and go back to the tab controls. The same thing happens when I use the Page Setup manager.
I don't know if this is connected but I have lost all ability to send prints to any of the printers in our office. I have downloaded the drivers again to no effect. So now I have to make pdfs, save to a file on our server, switch to the Mac side of the computer, and send the pdf to the printer.
I'm going through some of the new features/ribbons such as "Design feed" and "Set Location" but when I click on these ribbons, the windows come up blank.
I am signed into my 360 account and the file I'm in is saved to my 360 account as well. why these windows are coming up blank?

i am plotting to a PDF, and the PREVIEW looks great, but the resulting PDF is blank!
notes: if i create a new layout, and use the default Letter viewport, it will plot, but if i stretch the viewport to match the extents of the paper size (Arch D), the resulting plot is blank. I tried deleting and adding a new viewport but no luck. Also, i see in the command line while plotting - Viewport 1 and Viewport 2 being plotted but there should only be one.
This is the problem I have. When I type something, ie a line length or a command, ie purge, whatever it is I type it is not shown in the command line... what am I doing wrong or what setting do I need to change..

I am trying to add an assembly (138MB, 780files) into a newly created assembly (new/blank file).
Sometimes it crashes when creating BOM.

I have AutoCAD 2013 (Full) and Adobe Acrobat X Pro v10.1.4 installed. I usually select ‘Adobe PDF’ as my printer instead of the standard ‘DWG To PDF.pc3’ which comes with AutoCAD and everything works fine. However on some particular drawings I have, when I print using the ‘Adobe PDF’ nothing comes out, it’s just a blank PDF. If I select the standard ‘DWG To PDF.pc3’ printer, it prints fine.
These particular drawings do have one missing Plot Style so maybe that has something to do with it? If so how do I remove that Plot Style completely so it’s not required anymore?
I have try every solution on the autodesk page about the blank activation page problem and it is still not working for me... I have instal autocad and uninstal it multiple time and I always get the error 2738 (probably related) the program is working fine on the trial but it will expired soon. What does the error 2738 mean?

How do I create "blank" toolbar buttons?
Using the CUI I can drag buttons from one toolbar to another to copy them but they remain linked. A change to one changes the other. How do I create a brand new button that I can add my code to?
I have AutoCAD 2012 and when printing to PDF on this drawing only it’s coming out blank (nothing in the PDF). All my other drawings work fine.
The plot preview seems to be fine also as I can see the drawing OK. Also It takes a lot longer to print on this drawing. It seems to hang around for about 30 secs and then produces a blank PDF.
I noticed a plot style pen missing which may cause the problem?
