AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Section Not Coming Right
Oct 8, 2013The cross section at the culdesac is not coming right (attached). Instead of a gradual slope, i get a drop near the centerline. I am targeting to the CL alignment and profile.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Dimension Lines To Follows Edges Of Section Instead Of Coming Straight Out
Jul 25, 2013I am currently using AutoCAD 2010. I'm placing some length dimensions on partial sections of a circle and the arc dimension comes straight out from the chosen points as a dimension of a flat line does. I would like it to look like an angular dimension without having to use a text override. Is there any way to change that to where the placed dimension lines follows the edges of the section instead of coming straight out?

Unfortunately, in a number of section views pipes are not shown in full height because the section view level range is too little. What I am wondering is - is it possible to automatically adjust section level ranges so that they fully include pipe sections? Please see also the image in the attachment.

May 21, 2012When i am creating section sheets from multiple section views ,section sheet view port scale changes.I did set it correctly in my template.
For example it changs from 1:150 to 1:150_1
Then in section sheets scetions views are not displaying correctly.
When i change view port scale manually it shows correctly.But it should do to all sheets.
What should I do?
In model spacr multiple section views are showing correctly.

Aug 12, 2013In my section editor my labels show up correctly and in all the locations I want. But then, in my cross section file, I look in my section views and they are completely different. When I try to label more points under the Code Set Styles, they won't even show up on my section views.

I have existing sections.
I have section views.
I created a corridor.
How do I add the corridor section to my existing cross-section in the section views?
I can view them in the corridor section editor. But I should also be able to add the corridor section to my section views, right?
To plot them, do I NEED to do this through Sheets Sets? I don't have experience with sheet sets yet.
I don't use Civil 3D often enough anymore. Still learning much about the new interface and pulling a design together.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Corridor Section Editor Not Displaying A Section
Mar 8, 2012I've got a corridor where the section editor does not show a section that the corridor has created. My frequency is set to 25' with high/low points along curves. At station 22+75, in the model space the corridor shows a section being created (image #2). However, I cannot edit or even see that section in the section editor (image #1). The first screen shot shows the list of stations for the corridor in the editor while the second screenshot shows the model space at the problem station. This is in the middle of a region, so there shouldn't be any issues with other assemblies or regions.
In the section editor, Sta 22+74.91 is listed, skips 22+75, then lists 23+00. I am needing to manually adjust the cross slopes of my lanes. If I view the surface there is a weird dip because at station 22+75 the default slope of my lane is -2%. I cannot edit station 22+75, so I cannot adjust the cross slope of the lanes.
What is causing the section editor to not even recognize a section? How can I edit the cross slope at station 22+75 if the editor doesn't even display that section?

Nov 8, 2012I am having an issue when producing a section view with my corridor. I have a corridor and corridor surface, as well as an existing ground surface. I create a sample line group and sample EG, Corridor Surface, and Material. When I produce a section view I get 4 sections in the view: EG, Corridor Surface(with the corridor surface naming convention), and an additional section simply called "Corridor Surface".
This last section is strange in that it seems to be using the correct assembly, but not targeting the correct features. Also it has grips at all of the vertices which I havent seen before.
And the strangest part, when I click on properties for this section and go to section data, the columns for Description and Data Source are blank.
If there is no data source, then where is this section coming from, and why is it showing up when I did not specify that it be created. This is a real mind boggler to me and makes no sense. Screenshot attached.

Oct 17, 2013I am trying to model a system of existing storm pipes, where the last catch basin actually has two outfalls: one an 18" pipe and the other a 24" pipe. They have different invert elevations.
I have the pipes set up correctly in Autocad, so that the profile shows up right, and the plan view in Storm Sewers shows up right, too. However, the model does not separate the flows.
Is there a way to manually enter the approximate amount of flow that will discharge through each pipe?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Broken Reference Text Not Coming In?
Jul 15, 2013I'm in a dwg that had broken references. I right clicked on Alignments to repair all broken references. Everything came in (surfaces, alignments, pipe networks) but text did not come in from a source drawing; the Source Dwg is a Pipe Network. The network came in but not the text. I opened the source dwg & the text is there. The Event Viewer is showing no broken references so what I'm I missing?

Nov 12, 2013I have recently been using Sheet Set Managers (SSM) more recently and have found them quite handy but I am also finding some peculiarities with it too. I have no issues setting up a SSM and getting it to plot all my sheets either to our plotter or to PDF at full size (24x36), however when it comes to setting up a half size (11x17) page setup and overriding to it, is where problems occur.
What I want is a page setup that I can select that will plot 11x17 from 24x36. So, I first created a page setup that does this in our template (.dwt) and then set the page setup overrides file to our template file (under sheet set properties). Next I right-cliked on my sheet set and went to "Publish" and then "Publishing Using Page Setup Override", but the list it populated for me did not reflect all of the page setups we have in our template??? It listed two page steups _24x36 and _30x42 (see attachment). These page setups can be found in our template under page setup manager along with several others which don't show in the overrides (see attachment).
Is there a reason the other page setups aren't coming up in the SSM overrides menu?

Dec 6, 2012I am trying to create section views to track beach erosion. I have created an alignment and sample lines successfully. The shorter sections look as they should. The longer sections are a mirror of themselves (ex: a section that should be 529' in length is drawn as 1058'). Is this a matter of needing to create a corridor and going the other processes that normally have to be done for a road or is there something else I am missing here?

automatically I can create over 500 section views, no problem there,but then I want to plot these 500 section views to a png file,and to do that I need to get all of them in separated layouts, for which there also is an automated function but its stops at 255 layouts,I've done 4 km in split up drawings..I've got 40km left no option splitting it up in 1 km sections.

May 12, 2012if i have one feature line i want to project to all sections in a sample line group it would seem you should be able to pick the one line and assign in a label style and you would be done quick and easy. instead if you pick the multiple projection option you get this percentage distance box and it tend to grab stuff you don't want.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Section View Style
Jul 27, 2010We have a project where the alignment is not in the center of the section (it's along one edge of the project), but we want the Title Annotation ("STA. 165+00") to show up in the center of the sections.
If you choose "Center" justification in the style, it "centers" it about the zero offset, which in our case is actually the left side.
Is there any way to truly center this call, short of turning it OFF and manually creating separate labels?
Unfortunately, I can't use "Center" and give it a "Y" offset, because the alignment does vary slightly (±30 feet) within these 250' cross sections - which would cause the label to vary by that much also...

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Structures Rotated In Section?
Jul 17, 2013I've placed generic Junction box structures right out of the box from C3D and when I cut a section, the section shows the wrong side of the structure. (Rotated) i.e. An inserted 60”x36” junction box inserted as a curb inlet and then rotated into position will display the 60” side even though it’s perpendicular to the section line.
I've had to go back and place a 36”x60” to get it to display the 36” side in section? Why is there a “rotation handle” on the structure if you can’t really rotate it?I really don't want to swap all 60"x36" with 36"x60" structures just so they will display properly in section.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Labeling Surface Section
Oct 8, 2013I want to label the surface sections (eg, fg) in a single location something like what is shown in the attached image.
Currently I am using a major offset label which refers to the surface description* where the surface name is stored. I set the increment to a suitable number which results in multiple labels along the section. I then drag one into position and delete the rest using ctrl-select. While it would be far easier to use multileaders to acheive the correct look, they don't update location with the section views.
We use the description to store the 'friendly' name as our object naming standard wouldn't necessarily make sense to the viewer of the plans.

Mar 14, 2013I have a short corridor, about 300', that ends at a cul-de-sac, and has multiple sections and alignments associated with it. My problem is when I need to edit a section in the "Section Editor" my computer feezes up. It was working fine for a while but now I can't get it to work even on a new drawing. If I can't get this fixed I will have to got to using feature lines. Which is not ideal.
I added a screen capture of my computer's information. And I have the SP1 installed for Acad.
