I am woring with Civil 3d '14. For some reason all of my points, even though they have assigned elevations, their nodes are at 0.00 which makes it difficult to do any soft of point grading. How to adjust the settings so the point node is at the elevation of the point? The image attached shows a line which was drawn from the node of one point to the node of another point. Notice the z elevation of said line.
I'm working with some drawings (from others) that have some points that aren't selectable by node (although I can draw a line by points). I've isolated it to the Point Style. Trouble is, I can't seem to find anything out of the ordinary when I go to those settings.
Is there a setting that I am missing where if your osnap is set to node, it will snap to the node if you hover over the point text? I seem to remember this working in versions before 2012.
Back in LDT you used to be able to mouse over point descriptions of dragged state points to get Osnap to select the node. Civil 3D has apparently done away with this, why who knows but its very very hard to know what point your selecting if say you have a bunch of points on top of eachother. Can this be enabled anywhere?
The very mundain work around is to use 'PO to select the point entity, but it does not show the little osnap indicator on the point marker when you use 'PO.
Is there a reason why the "node" osnap won't recognoze certain point markers? I have recently begun using named plot styles and I have been revising some of our markers to reflect this. I have noticed that some of the point markers (it seems like markers that use a circle as part of the marker) won't show the node marker no matter how I hover around it. Others seem to be normal.
I think this issue started with SP2. I don't remember having these issues in SP1 and earlier.
Create some COGO points at varying elevations.Start a new feature line.Use "node" object snap and pick your first cogo pointIt does not pick up the elevation of the point (it used to)Now draw feature line segments to a few more cogo points entering the elevation each time.It does not pick up the elevation of the point (it used to)Now switch to Arc mode and snap to a few more cogo points. It does correctly picks up the elevation of the cogo points (like it used to)R.K. I wanted to know if there is a way to add points/nodes to all the centers of all the circles in my drawing with only a few steps, vs picking 700 circles one at a time using( _point) command.
In AutoCad when the text is aligned with "Middle Center" has two points, but in C #, I only managed to capture one of the points using: myText_DBText.Position.
im using c3d 2012. whenever i'm drawing lines between nodes and i have my osnap set to node and it picks nodes but i have to be right on top of the node when i pick it so i'm having to zoom in and out a lot. in ldd i was able to hover anywhere over the point text and it still picked the node.
Civil 3d 2012..I used 3d orbit, it crashed. My points, point groups and newly updated description keys are gone.I have looked at all my backup files etc, and they do not want to display.
Im still new to Civil 3D and i would like to know how to connect inported points using 3D polylines. I imported my points from Excel in a PNEZD format. How do i get the 3d poly line to snap to my points so I can Connect them? someone mentioned using a feature line to connect the points but im not sure how or what that would do.
I have a database of points I am trying to import, and the point data for each point includes a hyperlink. I've created a set of custom User-Defined Property Classifications for all the data types in the point database, and I've created a point file format to use to import the points.
It's a database of existing curb ramps, the data includes things like widths, slopes, some text, and a hyperlink to the Google Streetview at each ramp. I've created a custom point label that will show the data I need to see at each ramp.
All goes great except that the import fails because of the hyperlinks. I've tested it by removing the hyperlinks from a small test portion of the data set, and the test points are then successfully imported. I suppose I can delete the hyperlinks from the entire database, but if there is a way to include the hyperlinks in the point import I would prefer that.
In uploading the Point input data into the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 software program, is it possible for me to add more Point Attribute items after Point Number, X, Y, Z? I need to have the chemical results/data attached to the (sampling) Point that has the Point #, X, Y, Z - like Point Number, X, Y, Z, Arsenic, Lead, Mercury in the input .txt (or .csv) file.
How to set a default point style for point groups? Whenever I import survey points, I always put them into their own point group, so I can display each day's worth of survey data differently. For some reason, the point style always defaults to a certain style (our control point symbol). I'd like it to default to Basic, so I don't have to change this every time. Is it a template drawing setting somewhere?
First time importing into 2012-have csv file that I imported. Coordinates land in right spot. Local system-No transformations/State Plane zones attached. When I look at them with tracking everything is okay. When I export the points they are the same I imported.
I am trying to get point 1234 to show a label that says Point #1234 and then in a grading plan have that same point show up as a spot elevation. I have tried making two point groups "Point #" and "Spot Grades" which include the same points in them with two different label styles for each group, however the point seems to only want to take one label style at a time.
Question 1: Is it possible to change a Survey COGO point to a regular COGO point so you can edit the datum?
If not:
Question 2: Is it possible to transfer the survey database from one office to another so the end office can make datum changes to the survey COGO points. Will the link between the file and the database still apply?
I am having a problem getting all the points I want to include in my DTM into a Point Group. The raw description inclusion of most double codes, codes with line designators and codes with size and description modifiers does not bring the points into the point group. (e.g. WL S, CLF E, PIN 18 where the description key set is created to size the pine tree by 18 and create a descriptor that says 18Inch Pine).
I have several lifts of dirt. I have 50 shots on each lift, but the shots on each lift are in different locations. I have been told to have each lift on a seperate layout and each layout list each shot starting at 1. Is there a way I can show Lift 1 with point numbers 1-50 and Lift 2 with point numbers 1-50 in the same dwg?
In LDT there was a command "zoom To point" that allowed me to type in the point to zoom to that point. The only way I am able to do this now is scroll through the point groups or point to zoom to a point.
Is there a zoom to point command inside of C3D that is more efficient than scrolling through a point list?
image attached.is there a way to get rid of the hover information that pops up for cogo points? while im looking at the points in a list there is a box thats pops up with the information i am looking at blocking the information i need to look at. if there is a way.
Is there a way to label the low point of a profile or alignment that doesn't have any vertical curves? We have an existing alignment and profile which is relatively flat, and we'd like to establish and label the low points for drainage improvements.
I can't seem to get this working in 2011... the bounding box for the point cloud is all that shows up. How to get a good 3dDWF or 3D PDF of a point cloud out of c3D?
We need to move a survey point. I know the point can be unlocked in the drawing and moved, but how can the survey database be updated? After the point is moved the database does not update even after closing and reopening the dwg and database.
