AutoCAD Civil 3D :: MAPWSPACE Not Working?

I have several user in my company with issues using Mapwspace.
1. I have imported a Nearmap image, (using command mapwspace) and drawn lines over and around the site, plus added sample points, and notes, and cadastre. These are clearly to be seen when the drawing is loading, but when the image comes in, everything disappears, except for the legend and text in paperspace.
I have replicated this issues, and when i tested it i got mixed results.I also got the image to hold, but hen i closed and re opened the drawing the image disappeared.
2. Another users is loosing more then images from MAPWSPACE, including GIS data sets. The content is disappearing when Vports are created.I have replicated this issues and the image disappeared when i created the Vport also? We are using Civil 3D 2012, SP1.

Currently I have to dxfin a converted .job file to get my survey feature text and field comments into my drawing.
Question #1 How do I get rid of the point node associated with the points that have comments? All I want is the text, no nodes.
Question #2 What layer does the block come in on?
Question #3 Do I need to merge the block to my drawing?
Questoin #4 How do I manipulate the text? Can I create styles for it? Becasue it looks horrible as a .dxf block.

i type in xr and the box shows up but when i go to attach a dwg or image the box usually shows up so i can browse through and find the dwg i want to xref but the box doesn't show up all it says at the bottom in the command line is ATTACH
If i use the command classicxref then everything is fine i can attach anything i want. i checked the filedia and it is set to (1)

I installed Infrastructure Design Suite 2013 on my pc to try, when using 2012.
F1 doesn't work and neither does any of the buttons on the Help ribbon. I haven't uninstalled the 2013 version yet. Was hoping to not have to.

I am having a problem with one of our draweings, when I select Export > Autocad DWG 2010, nothing happens. I have tried opening another Civil 3D drawing, and it works fine. I can see the command on the command line, but no error or anything after it, just does not do anything.

I have created some new commands (that basically reference some lisp routines we have on our network) and would now like to copy these files to our other users...I knew which files to copy when we were working in LDD (the .mns files) but what files I need to copy to the other users PC's...the new commands all work and they are all in the quick access toolbar..

I am trying to make a simple app using .NET classes.
I made a simple Windows.Form in which are check boxes (on for each layer of the CAD drawing).
Just to set the visibility of each layer. Everything is working fine, but I have a little problem with refreshing a drawing.
Changes of visibility settings are applied after a form is closed.
I need the drawing to be refreshed after every check box check change.
I enclose a method with handles check boxes changes.

I'm exploring the option of going from normal autocad and PDS (for our road designs) to fully using Civil 3D 2013.
Generally we only recieve a survey drawing as a 2d cad file with height points represented as 2d text.
In PDS all we need do is 'convert text to point' and create a ground model, this gives us a 3d ground mesh to work with.
In Civil 3d i've found 'movetexttoelevation' but now i'm stuck with adding a point at the node of the text object, and then I need to creat a surface model to overlay a 2d siteplan andstart creating our roads.

When I create a pipe I want the name to include the pipe size. I set the template in the commands to do this but it is not working.

Swap parts is not working for my structures. When I swap a structure it becomes unselectable and if I close out the drawing and re-open it the part is gone. I am running C3d 2012 64 it with the latest SP. I've attached the drawing.

For some reason my Subassembly Name Template is not being applied to my subassemblies. This happens in new drawings using the default Imperial Template that ships with the product.

I have an Existing Surface i created from survey data. I have a Proposed Surface i created with feature lines. Now i want to create grading around the outside portions of my Proposed Surface. I create the Grading Group and specified a projection surface and selected a Criteria Set for a 3:1 slope to match back to Existing Surface. I select the Feature Line i wish to create the grading from and progress through the cut and fill prompts and nothing happens. Nothing gets created. I have tried an audit on the drawing to see if errors are causing the problem and there are no errors.
I use this tool all the time and this problem comes up frequently. Especially if i have made any surface adjustments.

I had a crash with Windows Vista - go figure - and I had a backup copy of Civil 3D 09 on an external drive. I am trying to do a flat install but everytime I click on setup it gives me an error message " The copy functions cannot be used. Failed to copy the following files: SetupRes to C:UsersDavidAppDataLocalTemp\_AIA.tmp.

Interesting find this morning. In C3D 2014, the MAPEXPORT asks to save the file name, give the file a name, and then nothing happens. I have done a repair and to no avail, nothing. The dialog box does not appear, and no file is created.

I'm new to working with GIS data imported into Civil 3d as shape files. I'm working on setting up base drawings for a new project area and I have a lot of data displayed as polygons with attributes. This is nice but I would like to be able to copy these to polylines on layers that I can have a little more freedom to work with.
For example the polygon boundaries are not exactly the boundaries that I need to show and editing the borders would be nice. Is there a better alternative to tracing the polygon boundaries? I have noticed when I extract feature geometry for line strings I get a polyIine I can use but the polygons' extracted geometry is a Mpolygon with solid fill.

For whatever reason, working with MrSids aerials with Civil 3D 2012 & 2013 is really slow these days. Three of us CAD techs have Dell Precision T3500 PC's with 24 GB of RAM with Windows 7. I worked with the same aerials 4 years ago using ust 4 GB of RAM with Windows XP. Is there a better type of aerial technology to work with rather than the MrSid aerials? Should we try to get the County to purchase another type of aerial technology to more easily depict the County so we can more quickly produce aerial roadways with stationed alignments..

I recently did a repair on my C3d 2012 (whcih didn't fix the problem, but I found out what that was and sorted it another way.)
I now find that all express tools commands give me the command unknown error.
I have checked in the cui and the Express tools ARE loaded. I tried unloading and reloading acermain.cuix without success.
I tried adding features from the control panel, but express tools do not show in the list.
I checked the text window after I first opened C3d and it definitely lists that it has loaded express tools yet they do not work.
I tried typing expressmenu in the command line, but it says command unknown.
edit - I tried resetting acetmain.cuix and got the following error:
Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If yu click continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.
Unable to cast object of type 'Autodesk Autocad Customization CUIUnresolvedCUIFileNode to type Autodesk Autocad Customization CUIPartialCUIFilenode'

I am trying to clear out all pvis in a profile, code is:
while (profUse.PVIs.Count > 0) { profUse.PVIs.RemoveAt(profUse.PVIs.Count - 1);}
seems like its the right approach, you cannot set the pvis collection to a new collection.
It catches every time though, does not matter how many pvis in the profile.
Seems I need some education on what you are alowed to do with pvi collections.

Yesterday I was cruising along as normal when all of the sudden my escape key stopped working. I believe it happened after I accidentally loaded the dbconnection manager or something similar but not sure. When I envoke a command, the escape key does nothing. When I select something and hit the escape key, it doesn't deselect everything. I know it's not my keyboard because I'm using a laptop and both the attached keyboard and the keyboard on the laptop function the same in that the escape key doesn't work. I also have a Logitech Performance MX with a button set as the escape command and that doesn't work. When I type in cancel or ^c^c, the response is "unknown command".

We have lost the use of the two transparent commands 'spe and 'sse. When I either click on the toolbar or type 'spe or '_spe in the middle of a command, they don't work like the other transparent commands. When I click on toolbar by itself, I get an error "Unknown comment "SPE". The other transparent commands say something like "PSE must be called from within another command".
Also, is the actual comment 'spe the command name or is it an alias. I was thinking that if I knew the command name, I could create another allias as a work around.
This is happening on multiple computers.

At my office we set the the survey database working folder for each individual project, but many times the individual working on the project forgets to set the folder to their particular project. Is there a way to set Civil up, so when you open a drawing it also opens the associated database?
Is importing all your text files then adding them to a database good practice? Doing it this way will not allow linework to function correctly, though?

Civil 3d 2012 SP2 - When using "Align Space" from the layout Panel of the Express Tools ribbon, I am not able to align the viewport correctly. It seems to be working backwards. I am trying to orient a viewport to something other than a cardinal direction, but for the sake of clarity, I will use an example using cardinal directions. If I am trying to orient the viewport so that North is at the right side of the page, when prompted for the model space alignment I select a line that goes from south to north in model space. When prompted for the paper space alignment, I select a line that goes from left to right. I would expect that north would end up on the right side, but it is on the left side. When experimenting a little, it seems like it is using the model space alignment as the paper space alignment and the paper space alignment for the model space alignment.

Everytime when i import a surface in civil3d 2013. It stops working and tries to send error report.
Also programs top bar which includes "save-open-civil3d selections-etc." is white that i cant see any button. It seems like ineffective because of colour but they can be clickable.

I want to create some custom parts, but before I can even get that far, every time I create a new pipe it doesn't work in cad. I want PVC at the end of the day, but I tried to create 3" ductile iron with all the same options as the other pipes in the catalog and it won't draw in CAD. It will let me add the pipe size to the parts list and I can select it when I try to draw the pipe, but when I click in the drawing it goes to 0,0 and won't add any pipes to the drawing.

my co-worker can not setup his drawing's data shortcuts. So, we tried to set the working folder. He has no real options for working folders. There is only one project folder showing for him. how to get all of the project folders to display in the set working folder dialogue so we can select the correct project, then select the correct data shortcuts. He is using C3D 2012 on a windows 7 64 bit machine. His folders have black arrows instead of plus signs. I've attached a picture. The Monterey Projects folder should display several hundred project sub folders and you can see we only have the one folder of 2916.
