I have only cogo points, numbered and with description. I have no figures.
How can I create them using points secuences ?
Can I use some C3d tool to build a line with the points included into a group builded with some query ?
( That is, create a line with points from 1001 to 1050, only those wiht description like PT* and using and interval of three - (1001, 1004, 1007, 1009) . )

Problem with command from Home tab - Draw panel - Curves drop-down - Create Curves Between Two Lines OR Create Curve on Two Lines.
If you select the Degree option, it draws a zero length curve when you type in a valid number for degree of curve. I have tried entering it in decimal format and as ##d##'. NOTHING WORKS!
When I create a new layer and in the same process change the color and linetype it looks like it takes in the layer dialogs box but when you use the layer the properties do not take. I have to re-initiate the layer command and then the layer properties are not what I set them to. Once I re set them at this stage it holds the layer. I've attached 3 images.
1. Showing two lines and layer dialogs box on two new layers (objects look the same)
2. Showing dialogs box after reinitializing layer command (objects still the same)
3. Showing dialogs box and lines after changing layer properties (now objects are holding set properties.
I have 4 points (from "Points from file", I created Points #1, #2, #3 and #$ in the non-linear fashion).
1) I want to create 4 straight lines (connecting Pt#1-Pt#2, P#2-P#3, P#3-Pt#4, P#4-P#1) by using some Commands. What Commands in the Command Line should I use to create these 4 straight lines from these 4 points?
2) I want to create 1 parcel (connecting Pt#1-Pt#2-Pt#3-Pt#4-Pt#1) by using some Commands after "Parcel Creation Tools" => Draw Tangent-Tangent with No Curve is clicked. What Commands should I use in the Command Line to specify these points to form a parcel?
I just upgraded to Civil3D 2014 and Windows 8. When I create a TIN surface using a DEM file no contour lines are displayed. Points are processed and triangles are created and can be displayed but no contour lines. Contour line layers are set to display in the style file.

So I received a whole bunch of contours from an architect. They are lines and arc. big sweeping arcs. Whats the best and fastest way to create a good surface. I can change them globally to a polyline but I need to add vertices like every 5 or 10 feet to get a good surface. Can I select multiple feature lines (after converted) to add vertices?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am receiving an invalid input message when trying to create a curve between two lines. My drawing units are set to architectural. The problem is summarized as follows:
1- In Lines/Curves menu, select curve between two lines.
2-Select first tangent
3- Select second tangent
4-Select radius option
5- Enter 8'6"
6- After entering the radius I receive an invalid input message.
7- But if I enter the radius as 102 (102 inches) the curve is created without any problem.
I need to create points with surface elevations along sample lines. The points need to represent the verticies one would see in the section editor. I've attached an image of my section editor for one of my sample lines. I need to create points that represent these 24 verticies along this sample line and do so for the rest of my sample lines as well. Is there an automated process to create these points?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the last couple weeks I've been unable to view object properties or quick properties. If I right click on an object and select quick properties, a blank window comes up:
Similarly, if I bring up a properties window and select an object, the selection field remains blank and the object property fields are not populated with information relating to the selected object:
My quick properties palette is only showing about 4 lines...(actually about 4.2 lines - explained below)
I've already changed the minimum number of rows to 20, under 'Palette Behavior', under 'Quick Properties', 'Drafting Settings', and' Tools'.
I've closed and reopened Autocad several times since i've set this, but QP box will still not show more than 4 complete lines.
I've also gone to the CUI and changed the number of attributes i want to show for each different kind of entity, so i know it's not because i dont have enough lines to show....in fact, i can see a bit of the next line....i just can't drag the window any bigger!
I am working on a dynamic block that I figured would be fairly simple. However, it is proving to be a huge annoyance. What I want for it to do is stretch the end of a polyline with a stretch action, while at the same time moving the grip of my block properties table. No matter what I do to it, the block properties grip won't move/stretch.

There are a number of threads that 'sorta' deal with my needs but alway tend to digress more towards the "poster's" needs and away from mine. I noticed that they all talk about Lisp Routines and I have no knowledge of using them. Is that the only way to go or can I use another route? Another one was the Sheet Set Manager but I don't think that this is exactly what I am looking for...
the only property I can actually define for each individual sheet (for use in iLogic, text fields, etc.) is the sheet name. This is extremely limiting. Each sheet in my drawings has several properties of its own--sheet number (most importantly), what part is ON the sheet, the designer, the revision, etc. I would love to be able to use each of these in labels on the sheet, for example, a text box with "<Sheet #> - <Part> (<Designer>)". The only possible way I could do something like this is to use the sheet number as the Sheet Name, and then use that value in the sheet's text labels, headings, and title block. However, I want to be able to use descriptive names for the Sheet Name, plus that's just one property.
Is there any way I can create and define multiple custom properties for individual sheets? I was exploring the idea of using iLogic, using the ActiveSheet command, possibly, and "tricking" inventor into creating properties for a given sheet.
How can you remove or add a tab to the properties palette? I somehow have an extra Display tab on my properties palette and I can't find a way to remove it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedQuestion of curiosity. The Properties Palette in C3D 2012 has four tabs: Design, Display, Extended Data, and Object Class. The Design tab obviously has a lot of valuable information and allows you to edit and manipulate entities within the program. But do the other tabs really have much value?
OK, it seems that there may be times when the Extended Data tab is of use as you can associate hyperlinks, notes, and documents with an drawing object; so I can buy into that. Are there folks finding those features to be useful?
Now I don't know about the Display and Object Class tabs. Whenever I select an item, and happen to check these tabs out, there just doesn't seem to be any useful information. Perhaps I am not selecting the right types of objects. If they are not listing any valuable information, why are they so prominent instead of being buried deep somewhere. Any insight into the usefulness of the two tabs?,
I recently upgraded to a new computer and CAD Civil 3D 2011. I have always had it set up to when I selected a node the attributes (description, point number, etc..) for it would show up in the properties. Now I can only view them by double clicking the node. Is there a way to get them to display in the properties again?

Is it possible to group all of these by just using the CUL somehow so that I don't miss any?

A 3D polyline having two nodes at 0,0,0 and 10,0,0 has length of 10.
If I move the second nodes to 10,0,1000 the length is still 10.
Is that the projection in xy-plan?
Is it possible to change the precision in the properties box for the maximum and minimum grades and elevations of a feature line? I like to select my feature lines and see the minimum and maximum grades and elevations in the properties. (I keep the properties window docked and open at all times.)

The file I modified is: AeccPartParamCfg.xml
I have migrated this file to 2011, 2012, 2013 without any issue. In 2014, I am getting a run time error for one of the optional properties and therefore that option is no longer working.
Created optional properties and run into problems in 2014? Works fine in all my previous releases of Civil 3D using the same parameter file.
Attached is the Parameter file and error at start up.
I'm trying to add user defined properties to parcels, and then apply various styles to control shading of parcels, and to display some or all of the user defined data, as applicable depending on the values of that data.
I have managed to create a user defined category within my [User-Defined Property Classification] and then create categories within that classification.
The problem I'm having is that I want to be able to see those classifications in prospector so that I can sort based on those values, and then batch assign styles. How to display the classifications.
So when I go to assign rendering materials in corridor properties dialog box, it does not allow me to select the box and make a choice of which material, so I am assuming that I am forgetting something...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an EG and FG data band for sections that works correctly. When i plot sections and it asks me specify surfaces 1 and 2, I choose my EG and FG surfaces appropriately. Then when the section displays the Section 1 and Section 2 are both set to the EG section of that specific sample line. If i change the section view properties manually it works but I'll have to do it individually for each section.
Also, is it necessary to create a FG surface from the corridor or can i get the data band to read from the corridor section itself?
