I recently upgraded to a new computer and CAD Civil 3D 2011. I have always had it set up to when I selected a node the attributes (description, point number, etc..) for it would show up in the properties. Now I can only view them by double clicking the node. Is there a way to get them to display in the properties again?

Similarly, if I bring up a properties window and select an object, the selection field remains blank and the object property fields are not populated with information relating to the selected object:

I finally got some Lisp scripts working. They generate a block library from a CSV file. The script reads the file, and generates a simple rectangular block based on dimensions on the line. I have another script that can read a csv of block names and values, and add these as attributes to the block.
The attributes added are simple, like "weight" and "max stack qty". I would like to be able to see these values in the properties tab or in quick properties. In my CUI I have "Display Custom Attributes" checked under "block reference".
However, when I select a block, no attributes show up. I can get it to show me things like "name" and all of the scaling values, just no attributes.
The list of bands with location selected as 'bottom of profile view' is blank, where as 'top of profile view' displays the info correctly. With this error I can't select any of the band to add remove modify them.
I have attached 2 pdf's showing top and bottom views.
I recently upgraded from LT2013 to LT2014. I never had any issues with 2013, but now seem to be battling with 2014. My OS is Windows 7 Home edition.
When selecting an object and then clicking the properties menu, the properties of the selected object are not displayed, but instead the properties of the selected layer are shown.
In the attached screenshot:
1) My active layer is "AM_VIEWS".
2) The layer of the object that is selected is "MEDIUM".
3) The properties dialog box shows the properties of my active layer and not the selected object.
I am therefore unable to override any settings of the selected object and manually change settings e.g. Linetype, Linetype scale etc.

This happens with all blocks and I checked the constant. I'm thinking it's a Variable but don't know which one.
My company is building a template library, and I want to fill in the .DWG document properties by extracting the information from a the block attributes
For example we need the following document properties (TITLE, SUBJECT, and KEYWORD) to be filled in from the same block attributes (TITLE, SUBJECT, and KEYWORD). The template we have now has this information manually input, but we would like to "automate" it on the .DWG document properties.
How do we do this, use a macro or is there some other way to do this automatically?
Is there any way to edit multiple attribute properties, NOT using battman? While battman will chnage every att-block within the drawing, I'm looking for a way to change the text size of one specific line of text within an attribute, and ONLY change it in a certain few within the drawing. It'd be nice if I can select those specific blocks and change the properties in the properties manager, but it's not an option.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am about to write the function using Overrule API to temporary override object’s colour to ByLayer for all entities in the drawing.
At this moment I just have simple class for testing (just to check if it is possible) and so far I can see problem with complex entities.
Entities such as Line, Polyline even BlockReferences work fine but complex objects like HATCH, MTEXT and LEADER do not change colour as set in SetAttribute method.
Below is simple class I was testing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI used the Block Properties table in dynamic block editor. I picked 3 out of 6 atributes to include in the Block properties table and I inserted the predefined values. When I view the block in testblock edditor everything works. Everything works also in the same drawing were the block was created. I can choose the predefined block vallues from the dropdown list.
The problem is that when I save the block in the block edditor as new drawing, for the purpose to use this and include this block in another drawing, then the attributes witch were associated with the Block Properties table are missing. They are also missing when I open the block editor in the new drawing. The attributes that were not associated with the table exist.
I have added 2 files. 1 with the block created in the same drawing and another where the block was saved an inserted to a new drawing.
I am a little new to assigning attributes. My company had a block with two attributes that I need to alter. When the block is inserted, it asks a quantity. The other attribute is titled location. I am told if needed, all these quantities can be totaled per drawing. It has a title of "location". Two things: How to replicate this action? And is there a way to show all properties of a field for an attribute?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created fields in the drawing properties custom fields dialogue box, then inserted those fields into my title block attributes.
Two things I hope to get out of this:
1. link these fields into the drawing property summary, so that I can display the drawing title and other pieces of info in the help strings that appear in windows explorer by simply hovering the cursor over the file.
2. I wish to be able to fill out the information in the title block by data linking it to our drawing lists in access.
I have a bunch of dwg files (100+) that are Piping and Instrument Diagrams for a refinery. The files sit on a network folder. The filenames are rather cryptic. i.e. 00-P-2-77894.dwg this refers to a location/section in the refinery. In the network directory there is an excel file with all dwg files listed with additional meta data. (Document Title, Created On, Last Modified by, etc...) This is a pain to keep up. I would like to develop an aspx page as a replacement for the excel file that simply lists (ala Windows Explorer Details view) all dwgs in a folder (including columns for filename, Document Title, Created On, etc...). I found the OpenARX SDK. I have a new c#.net website created with references to AcCoreMgd, AcDbMgd, and AcMgd. But after that im stuck. I can iterate through all files in the dir no problem but I'm not sure how to pull attribute information from the dwg files. All examples that I see involve opening the dwg up in some type of viewer and issuing commands. Thats not what I want. I need an aspx page that iterates through a directory of dwgs and lists the attributes in a tabular format.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a CAD file with property parcels in it. It has come from an external contractor and from a GIS program of sort sort I believe.
If you click each 'boundary'/land piece, it is a block/object (not a proxy graphic) and in the properties pane window, there are attributes that has the lot number, the lot area, parcel number, other info etc in it.
Each block is irregular and different, i.e. they are not all the same rectangle block repopulated, they are different blocks.
I don't know much about attributes in AutoCad althoguh after reading about them, is there some way to edit an attribute (make it not 'invisible' and to increase the text size of its display) when it is already in several hundred different blocks? The only way I could work out how to do it was to go into every block and do it.
I also tried using the ATTSYNC command to update blocks with attributes although that requires me to individually select each block/give each blocks name.
I also tried using the DATA EXTRACTION wizard and was able to extract the attributes into a table/excel file, although that is not really good enough as I need the attributes displayed over the CAD data so you can see what parcel of land the attributes are referring to.
Any better way or a lisp command to do this? Clicking each block/boundary/land unit to place a label over it would also be okay. I just don't want to have to manually create the labels from reading the property pane, there must surely be a better way,
I'm trying to figure out two things that have changed:
1) Lets say i create a polyline, lets say its 15 inches long. I used to be able to click on it and have the length show up in my properties. it no longer does that.
2) Lets say i create a polyline, it's green and has a dot pattern. I decided i wanted to change it to yellow and hidden pattern. I can no longer select the line and change it under the properties, it will change it in properties, but not on my screen. then when i draw a new line it will be yellow and hidden. I end up having to matchprop to make it work.
I'm having trouble getting mass properties of an assembly to display in an .idw. I've tried it 2 diffent ways, custom properties-model "Totalmass" where I type the mass and physical properties-model "mass" where it's automatic with update.. Nothing shows, not even N/A, but in another idw (different assembly) it works. Both text boxes are saved within a sketch that is part of a template. Both idw's use the same template. If I place text on the drawing it self it works.

i got one problem with properties palette. that is when i select line in the drawing, it display no selection in the properties palette. but display other objects except lines.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get back some of my work that was "lost" when a crash accured. I had 16 blocks (all the same) inserted into my map at the correct locations. I recovered the drawing but noticed that the blocks weren't displaying. I conducted a quick select for the layer which they're on; it stated 16 items were selected (but they are not displaying). While they are still "selected" I checked the properties & it stated all the correct information (quantity, block name, color, layer, scale, etc...). I made sure all layers associated with the block were not frozen. So it's acting as though they're still in the drawing, but aren't displaying...
